I am soo Australian - I was shocked to see children in the sun without hats! Here kids can't even go to the playground at school break without a hat (or outside at kindy or preschool). It's been such a strong part of our culture for years, both children and adults wear hats or caps and often short sleeved swim tops to protect ourselves from sunburn and skin cancer.

I agree it’s smart. Sun screen does work but I applaud parents who put long sleeves on the kids. My sons always wore long sleeve t shirts at the beach.

The remoteness of Nosara is part of what makes it so special. I suggest flying Sansa (or charter) from SJO into Nosara next time, and then it’s just a short ride from Nosara to Guiones (the beach). Can’t wait to go back, it’s the best!

Stella is the cutest little cherub and so is Ozzy, I loved the way Tanner picked Stella up by her floaties to get back on her boogie board, it was hilarious and made me laugh, I don’t know Why you guys moved from Hawaii, you belong at the beach, your kids belong at the beach, you can see their little faces light up when they get to the beach, and when Ozzy even said she wanted to go back to Hawaii, that said it all, Ozzy is getting great on the surfboard, standing up like she does, you’re never going to get that with the snow and all the warm gear you’ve got to wear to stay warm even if you did teach her to ski on the snow, it’s not the same, I’d love to see you guys move back to Hawaii, that’s where you belong….or come live in Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 on the Gold Coast, we could be neighbours Lol 😂
