I like the light but you should try using a warmer color. Like a sun-type shade of yellow/warm white. It's gonna compliment your skin tone a lot better than the purple light I think. And if you only have the purple light: put it behind you as a background light that won't affect your skin tone.

Been learning how to code for 1 month now. I've had a few days so far that i felt overwhelmed and felt like im not cut out for this. I tend to add unnecessary extra pressure to myself by not giving myself enough time for new information to sink in and make sense. Then comes the frustration and thoughts of quitting. Thank you so much for this uplifting encouraging video. Its calming to hear that the emotions and thoughts that i am going through are completely normal and just part of the learning process. I will keep going and pushing through with a positive outlook that one day in the near future i will become a good/great coder! God bless and Thank you again!

Great video and i agree to everything you said! I transitioned from a bachelors degree in health management to being a Business Analyst many years ago, just because i was interested in it but had 0 tech knowledge. Now i am learning how to code, because i am interested in that. At the end of the day it's easy to learn new stuff, you just have to prioritize it and then put in the work. I see too many people complaining about all the stuff they would like to do, while sitting on the coach binge watching netflix. With youtube and all the different content creators it was never as easy as today to learn new things, especially stuff you can do from home like learning how to code. I sometimes feel like you could drop a bag full of cash in front of people and they would still complain about them having to pick it up. Best of luck for your channel, buddy 🙂

Just found your channel and this was my first video I watched. I am self taught as a JavaScript developer. I am at the part where I guess I am trying to learn too many things. Started with React then jumped onto Php so that I was able to make a simple crud application. I had to stop myself and decided to focus on getting good with React and not worry about the backend until much later, thanks for the video

The light is cool, but also it's...cool? A warmer color might be better. The light also calls attention to the mirroring.

@@thetechdad87 You're welcome! I recently became a lead engineer, so I've been collecting educational resources to recommend to my direct reports. Lots of stuff out there that I wish I had when I was learning but I'm glad exists now. Some core classes I'd recommend to everyone are: Data Structures & Algorithms and Discrete Mathematics. Also, Google Scholar is a great place to find free online versions of academic textbooks, articles, etc.

That purple like would look pretty nice in a dark room and if you had it as a background light. Kinda like network chucks youtube videos.

@@thetechdad87 I wanted to learn a new skill. I hit a point in my life where I realized I was wasting my nights going down random KZbin rabbit holes or playing videos games and thought I can do something better with my free time while I still have free time. I used to love building websites back in the early 2000s as a teen, so I figured web dev would be a good place to start.

Thanks for the video. I liked and subscribed. 4-5 months ago I started to learn Javascript with the Odin Project. I think I made a good progress so far, and I'm currently about to finish the fundamentals part. However, I sometimes feel that if am I too slow or wasting my time. For example I'm trying to do the calculator project(the final project in the fundamentals section) for almost a month. If I watched a tutorial on KZbin I would finish it in a day or two, but when I try this by myself (as it's the Odin Project's teaching method) it took an entire month (I usually studied everyday like 1 hour or sometimes up to 4-5 hours). And also, my code is a mess and has a few bugs that I couldn't solve for a week. For those reasons, sometimes I feel discouraged. Do you have any general or specific advice for me? Btw, as you mentioned in the video I'm in the discord groups so I can ask people my questions which is very helpful.
@thetechdad87

That's normal to look for help like you are. My biggest suggestion is to type out the tutorial and not just copy and paste do your best do as much as you can alone get help with the rest and keep moving. Over time and after multiple times of doing it you'll remember more and won't need to seek help as much. Don't sit still!!!! Hope this answered your question and thank you for subscribing

Hey mate as a 27 year old coming from a construction background and no CS Degree is it too late to start my journey? I’ve got kids and no time to do a degree. Was gonna put 20 hours a week this year of self study. Do you think it’s possible to make a career change?
