Worst to Best: Metal Gear Characters (Tier List)

Really enjoyed your metal gear character tier list video. The johnny and Vamp love here in particular is very appreciated,I've always found them to be very underrated as characters so it's pretty nice to see that I'm not the only one who feels that way. Something I'd like to say when it comes to Big boss and Solid snake,I've always interpreted their impact in the narrative as the culmination of what the series is about:"Preventing the sins of the past from being passed on to the future". Both of these characters have gone through so much betrayal and trauma in their lives but unlike big boss,his son solid snake decided to fight for a better future for the people and break the cycle of"the snake"as I like to call it,so it's all the more fitting that the final cutscene in mgs4 is about them finally finding resolution in their lives. Big boss died realizing what The Boss's will was and Solid Snake got the chance to live what little life he has left free from the gun. What can I say? This dynamic is peak fiction through and through! Sidenote,about Strangelove you can make the argument that she's bisexual since she had romantic feelings for the boss and she was also Otacon's mother too.

Ocelot I think is my favorite character. Mostly because of his badass portrayal in MGS3. His character and skill growth in that game added with his rivalry with snake was just really well done. Liquid ocelot is my favorite villian and thank goodness they didn't give him that English accent as there's no way I could have taken him seriously in 4 if he had that, I'd be laughing too much. What adds to ocelots character also is what he goes through to finally free big boss from the Patriots control. Out of the main snakes I would say Big Boss is my favorite easily. I really like the cobra unit from 3, sons of liberty were my least favorite group.

Just found your channel. really like the video. My suggestion would be to potentially do this again, but cut down the characters to only the significant ones, go more in-depth, in a more granular rating. You clearly have a solid knowledge base of the MGS series!

Great analysis. Neither filled with shallow anxiety nor drawn from neurotic rage.
