The Love Bug franchise was one of those series that started off great but slowly went downhill the more time went on. Fully Loaded was okay though, still better than whatever Goes Bananas was.

My favorite Herbie film is Fully Loaded. It was actually pretty cool and it introduced me to Herbie when I was young.

Thw worst one is the nascar one. Honestly theres no connection with the driver and the car. And vw at a nascar race is ridiculous

In my opinion, here's MY ranking of the worst to best Herbie movies, with the bottom of the list being the best: Herbie Goes Bananas: The worst out of all of them, despite my love for Herbie. It can be boring very easily and Herbie is dirty and rusty throughout most of the movie, but the song "I Found a New Friend" is still pretty catchy. I give this movie an F. Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo: Because of its quick-to-bore non-Herbie scenes, this is the second worst Herbie movie. I still like the part where Herbie "yodels", but the movie itself is not very great. This movie gets a D. The Love Bug (1969): This is how the Herbie franchise started, but it's pretty decent. The intro and opening scenes don't feature Herbie until about almost half an hour has passed, and he has appeared in almost the rest of the movie ever since. At first, he was plain white, but during the middle of the movie, he gained his racing decals and he looked better. This movie gets a C. Herbie the Love Bug (1982 TV Series): A short-lived TV show that only ran on 1 season with 5 hour-long episodes, this is a very rare treasure. Herbie has made the show better with his new ability to "cry" on his windshield when he gets upset. I also think he's funny when he honks his horn to familiar songs. I give this series a B-, because it's great and I wanted to see it on Disney+. The Love Bug (1997): They say that this movie is a reboot of the first, but it's actually an entirely different story. Herbie is more "vocal" with his horn in this movie, but the saddest part is that he got crushed by Horace. Luckily they rebuilt and revived him later in the movie. What more can I say, but I'll give this movie a B+. Herbie Rides Again: Technically the second to best movie as well as THE best 70's movie. Not only I loved Herbie himself, but I also loved the orchestrion (which is like a jukebox) and the dream sequence. The only part I didn't like is Mr. Hawk's nightmare about Herbie. I'd rather skip that part, but still give this movie an A. Herbie: Fully Loaded: I absolutely LOVE this movie more than the others because of how Herbie gained more life (or in Don-chan's case, Tamashii) thanks to his new eyelids and improved front bumper! He can now blink, smile, frown, and make similarly human-like vocalizations, which were done by Scott Martin Gershin. The only part I didn't like about this movie is that he loses on purpose and is taken away to a demolition derby. He did survive it with help from Maggie who rescued him, but he's still beat up until they prepare him for the Nascar race. Overall, this is an awesome movie! I'll definitely give it an S+! Way to go!

Bloody Bananas! Despite hating that movie, ironically ive pinched the whistle notes from the opening of movie (beuna vista logo) for my mooch logo in epsisodes made after this!

I wanna see more movies of herbie beginning from where we left off in herbie fully loaded where herbie gets a new owner and that should be Jim Douglas Jr. the grandson of Herbie's previous owner Jim Douglas. What do you think?

Well it was definitely a lovely idea. If it could straight to theatres in future, that be great. I had to revisit 'bananas' last month to find a clip for my Cloris Leachman tribute. Weird how it's not the only film see appears with Harvey Korman (High Anxiety)

When editing a memorial video for song writer Stephen Sondheim, I was surprised to see Dean Jomes singing in a clip, so put said clip at start of tribute, like a secret nod to him

After watching Herbie:Fully Loaded, I felt quite disappointed i used to watch it a lot as a kid but now as a adult my feelings changed, I regret to have this as my favorite film. such a shame🤦🏻‍♂️

The one and only Herbie movie is 'The Love Bug'. The rest is more or less just 💩. 'The Love Bug' is pure Disney magic and a lovely family film. Forget all bananas, Monte Carlo, fully loaded and all the others - leave it at the # 1.

Yeah definitely a big change in the orchestral music from the first films. George Bruns did the scoring for the first 2 films and I believe he passed away before the filming of Monte Carlo. Frank Devol took over bringing somewhat wacky, dixieland type music with a Tuba that would stand out at times in Monte Carlo. It was annoying, and just didn't suit the last 2 films. The same for the TV series with trombone wah wahs. Nope, not Herbie music.

George Bruns would've probably have similar direction of the love bug for the rest of Herbies run. I would guess somewhat disco, more guitar work and alot less slapstick horn section. Herbie wasn't clumsy. It was the mid to late 70s where the music in films were that kind of age. The TV series score was horrible. I've would of expected alot of synthesizer, keyboard work, with some horns, not rehashed work, as it was 1981-82.

I found many of Disney film music to be awful in the 70s and early 80s. I think the only ones that stood out as epic scores - John Barry's The Black Hole, Wendy Carlos with TRON and Elmer Bernstein's The Black Cauldon, were sadly flops. I've tried 3 times in my life, but cannot get past the 15 minute mark of Oliver & Co! But Herbie suited that era it was created. Bringing him back now with a Danny Elfman score would be horrible!

@@Moochtv Fully loaded was a rushed project. Didn't make sense that Herbie was unheard of with how famous he was during president time. The look of Herbie was off a bit, wrong 53 font, and the CGI was terrible. 30+ Herbies were built for the film. I've seen pictures on the net of them being built. Now the soundtrack to this movie was cartoony. I thought from the first trailer it was going to be more modern type especially with it's lead actress, wrong. Just a mess.

Herbie Load of Bollocks would have been a better title! Disney are really missing out not using their own resources for a comeback. For instance, Herbie gets cheers off crowds when he pops up in that lights, camera Action stunt show - that would make a great vehicle (sorry) for him to be a stunt bug. Also Disney plus should create a show on bringing various VWs back who all are Alive and get Herbs to put them in place!

Yeah talk about the crap the other movies I like them I like all the movies with Herbie in it I mean this car showed his way of the road he drove down from 1969 to 2005 and it's a man on KZbin who does fan films name CGrayzer you made two films Herbie races again and herbie races again 2 I like those films as well they're not really part of the Love bug franchise but definitely kind of cool but as for you talking about crap the other movies I like all the love bug movies just eat your chips and drink tea and talk crap about Herbie is shall be a great Disney character and that's the bottom line cuz I said so!

Well that's a different approach I guess! Herbie is a great character. Worthy of doing a video about him! But c'mon you gotta admit... The sequel films are sh*t! I really didn't like rides again and bananas as a kid. Did a rewatch before making this and still found the films painful! Just had some chips funnily enough! Love Bug is a great film though. And I got to ride in a Herbie VW in 2005 promoting fully loaded, so had good memories. Somebody's crap is someone else's treasure!

@@Moochtv Herbie got three guest stars from The Andy Griffith show willbe play The Farmer on The Andy Griffith show it's like forget about Willie better known as Don knotts better known as Barney Fife turn on the Herbie TV show last episode gomer Pyle was there to me that's very cool having three of the best guys from The Andy Griffith show .

@ianengland9549 before my time sadly but yes, high calibre of actors involved in the series (British comedy Actor Roy Kinnear was in 'rides again) and all had reasonable budgets. I liked Don Knotts. He was a good stand in for Buddy Hackett, but his character was given atrocious dialogue. I don't blame the actors. Just poorly written and directed!

In my opinion the worst movie was the The Love Bug, horrible movie. The movies I liked were the others aside from The Love Bug.
