Per TSA, they DO NOT “confiscate” knives. They give the owner the option to return the item to their car or put it in checked luggage. The TSA will never take your belongings forcefully. Ya they got their pound of flesh out of me back when they first started this after 9 11. I think it was just a Buck clip folder nothing too painful to loose. It made me good at remembering that my pocket knife and anything else metal goes in checked baggage.

There is no "good stuff". Anyone with sense enough to purchase a quality knife, has sense enough to NOT take it to the airport.
@williambush79718 ай бұрын
I've used this trick in airports, courthouses and other places that won't allow me to carry my knife. I go outside and find a planter or other good hiding spot and stash my knife in a well hidden area. When I leave the building I go pick it up and go on my way. Saves me from walking back to my vehicle or office to get rid of it. Do it at the airport if you can find a good spot. Even the parking garage has some good hiding places. When you get back from your trip go pick up your knife. Course this only works at your home airport. I carry an expensive knife but I'd throw it in the trash before I let TSA have it. If there is time I'd even find someone arriving that looks like they would appreciate it and give it to them Anyone but those thieving TSA agents.

I kinda wanted you to demonstrate the thing that looked like a bullet but with a bottle opener in the side. Is that actually a knife, or are they confiscating bottle openers now? Also, and I've said this before, the security check area needs to have a stack of prepaid overnite FedEx envelopes and a dropbox in case one forgot one's nice pocketknife until security time, then you can just pay your fee, and overnite them to yourself. Even paying $50 for an overnight envelope is better than $100 or up to replace a nice pocketknife.

If this many knives are taken routinely, you should be able to pick-up a knife at the other end of your trip. One identical, or at least similar. They could hand you a chit to be redeemed later.

I have a bit of a grudge with EBay, they claimed a buyer was trustworthy so I sold them a GPU and got ripped off, only to realize later that they call everybody branded "trustworthy" when they actually meant "never had an account until yesterday"... Your haul makes me think I'd be interested in trying it again... Would you (two year old post) be willing to buy some of these knives?

I thought the Electrician's Knife (TL-29?) was worth a second look, but they're very common, and inexpensive. When I've seen these confiscated lots sold in Europe, 75% of them are Victorinox SAKs, with some Chinese SAK copies, multi-tools, and a few other folders.
