Worth The Extra? | Citizen Promaster Blue Angels Skyhawk A-T Titanium JY8101-52L Unbox & Review

#MAVERICKWATCHREVIEWS So the question is whether the titanium version of the Skyhawk A-T is worth the roughly $200.00 premium over the standard stainless steel version(JY8078-52L). The watch I reviewed a couple weeks ago(JY8097-58L) is around a $1000.00 bucks but that's because of the Limited Edition helmet that comes with it.

Yes it's absolutely worth it, some people have problems with stainles steel including 316 steel. With titanium you can wear it everyday without getting nasty spots. And yeah it is much easier wearing because of the weight.

Does Citizen use 316 steel for their watches? They don't seem to specify it on their website. Also, they have very cool information about their Super Titanium on their website and say that the titanium is made to their specifications, but they don't specify what titanium grade it is for nerds like me who want to know haha. Maybe the grade is a proprietary secret of Citizen.

The watch is cool! I think the extra money is definitely worth it. The blue angels are awesome too. So to put the two together is a win-win. Some of the fake stuff they do on watches is not really that cool. I have a few blue angel watches. I also have a few citizen watches and one of them is titanium Captain America so I know the titanium watches are much lighter.

I have the U680 Sky Hawk Titanium Limited Edition. I can tell you it does NOT have a 6 month power reserve. I left mine out in ambient light, so it was always exposed to light. After two months it was completely dead and I had to put it under sun light for a day to wake it up. The date registered 01012008. I put it in the sun until the battery meter was at max. The battery ran down every time I tried to set it and it will not connect to the "radio control" set. My watch was $900 because it is number 3489 of 5000 made world wide.

Correction: All of the new model Skyhawk AT with the new dial colors and case design including the stainless models are Sapphire crystal, so the premium is for the blue angels, and the titanium case and bracelet

Correction to your correction: I was directly comparing the model I reviewed before this one, the JY8097-58L, which does *not* have a sapphire crystal or titanium case & bracelet to this model, the JY8101-52, which does have a sapphire crystal and a titanium case & bracelet.

Pull the crown out and rotate it to the CAL function and set it there. In order to do your local date though, you will have to show both same time zone on both displays (i.e I have mine set to Chicago on both displays), at least that's the way i had to do it.

I have the stainless steel Citizen Skyhawk AT watch which I prefer to the titanium version for one reason ...the bracelet on the titanium version has sharp edges.....stainless version has rounded, beveled edges all around which I prefer.

It's all connected analog and digital. It's cool too, when the watch goes into powersave mode and you wake it up the hands start spinning around until they arrive at the current hours minutes and seconds.

The JY8097-58L with collectable helmet But Stainless Steel and Mineral crystal lists for $995. This JY8101-52L is Titanium and Sapphire crystal lists for $895. The helmet is cool but the 2nd watch is better and cheaper.

Does the clasp have any sort of easy adjustment? Re watched your last video of the helmet video and that one looks like it doesn’t. I know citizen makes a bracelet with the easy adjust clasp.

Yes, the clasp has only one additional spring bar hole setting to change the size by about 1/8 inch.
