Yeah, it's worth the hype. Super versatile disc. I love the Hex in a mid-weight Fission plastic.

How does the mid weight Fission fly for ya? I need to try lighter weights!

@@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf It flies like a lazer for me - super straight with a nice little fade at the end.Great glide, too. 👍

I can’t think of a disc more deserving of it’s hype. The hex is second to none in the go-to straight mid market.

The Lizottl Hex are so fun to throw! If I ever bag one it would probably be that.

I have had a Hex for 12 months or more. I genuinely want to love it but I also struggle with the hand feel BH. FH no issues. I much prefer the Reactor which fills my hand much better. I’ll keep working with it, but thus far it’s not in the bag.
@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf7 ай бұрын
Not filling the hand is a big issue for me as well. Sometimes leads to early releases.

Hex is awesome. I’ve got the OG neutron one and by now it’s a hyzerflip laser beam.
@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf7 ай бұрын
Never throw that one near water! 😅
@coltonfritz7 ай бұрын
I definitely need to try a eclipse or fission. The neutron run that I have flies more like a comet with less glide.
@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf7 ай бұрын
Eclipse will be the best bet for sure!
@natemaas19827 ай бұрын
I bag 2 hexes (3 when in the woods) and own/lost 8 of them (2 fission, 2 neutron, 1 proton, and 3 eclipse). The fission is the least torque resistant. My fission hex fills the slot between my lizottle and my uplink as it flies like I imagine the detour will.
@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf7 ай бұрын
Interesting about the Fission’s being less torque resistant. Are they lower weights or max? Always awesome when you can bag multiple of the same disc to hit totally different lines!
@natemaas19827 ай бұрын
@@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf both of my fission hexes are 178. First one is from the 2022 mvp open so it’s seasoned. But my other one is brand new as I realized I was loving this fission more and more and needed a backup.

I have thought about doing my own reviews... And then i see videos like this and i am like, oh f that. Lol. Your videos are really good. And you review discs that are really good for peoples bags. I bag a deflector, pyro neutron hex, fission hex, and uplink. I lost my lightweight fission hex before i even got 5 throws in. I knew i shouldnt have taken it on vacation.

The Hex is my go-to midrange. I have several of them - preferring the Eclipse, R2 Eclipse, then Proton (so far), then the Neutron and, last, the Fission (gotta try that one again - just didn't do well for me the first go 'round). Anyway, I've been throwing lefty drives and approaches for three weeks now since an injury to my right (dominant/primary side) elbow. The Hex remains my top disc, and I'll tell ya, I just might stay lefty, as my timing and technique both feel better than as a righty.

I haven't gotten to throw the Hex myself, but I've wondered why people like it so much more than the Buzzz. Seems like the answer is that the Hex is shallower and almost never domey, and it's easier to hyzer flip in premium plastics, so you don't have to throw anhyzer if you don't want to. I'll stick with my Buzzzes, but I think I get the Hex now.
@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf7 ай бұрын
Never clicked with the Buzzz unfortunately. It just never did what I thought it should 😔.

Love everything about your videos!! Pacing, variety, visual lines… amazing. Would have loved to see a hyzer forehand throw. I’m 100% RHFH. Similar arm speed as yours. When thrown on hyzer at 100% with your arm, does the max weight fission flip up to flat? If so how much does it turn over?
@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf7 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏 Regarding the Fission. The throw in the video was around 80ish percent (fastest I’ll forehand most mids not named the Toro or Quake). If I toss it full, it does hold a gentle turn and then fades back to pretty much center.
@scottgardner81267 ай бұрын
@@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf Awesome - sounds like I will need to chase a fission hex down to throw. I have a neutron Hex that just doesn't really do well with my torque. Unrelated: I've gone back and watch some of your videos from the last couple of years. Fun to see the the work and thought you've put into improving to your format. It is noticeable!

Hex flight and feel are amazing, but being shallow and very flat, it can be unpredictible and unforgiving with spin and release, unfortunately I have more early/late release with it as well as unwanted flightpath, I know this is me but I also don't know an open bag pro player who bags the Hex

i have a problem. I have hard time to flip up discs dont know what i do wrong. My friends that throw 70ft shorter can flip with ease. My max distance is around 400-415 feet.
@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf2 ай бұрын
Part of hyzer flipping is finding the right disc with enough understability for your arm speed and finding the right angle to release it on. I would try picking up an understable putter or mid and learn with those before trying out drivers.

Does anyone know if the disc engineer(s) for MVP are the same people for axiom and streamline? Yeah know MVP owns them all, but I wonder if MVP retained designers from those companies when they were independent? I can’t tell if it’s genius or dumb to have your sister company (axiom) have and release two of the most popular discs ever with the envy and hex. Also the Streamline Pilot
@natemaas19827 ай бұрын
MVP doesn’t “own” them, they are the same company, just different lines of discs. So yeah it’s the same people.
