It's disappointing that Garmin did not create a 43mm solar watch. I like the MIP Displays and will not buy an AMOLED one

I have the 47 Fenix 8 solar and love it!I have the hot keys programmed for voice commands, voice assistant and voice recording so all three are just a touch of one button.

Hopefully in version 9 they are able to make solar MIP work in the small size, otherwise guys with smaller wrists and most woman will be stuck forever on the 7s pro which seems nutty. Review was very helpful. Hopefully the pinned workout feature comes as a software update to 7s Pro.

Was gonna switch to a fenix 8 from a awu, but decided on a fenix 7 pro ss…personally, I like the mip better than amoled. Plus I don’t think an upgraded “speaker” or “voice assist” that comes with the F8 is really worth the price when you can get the 7 series with pretty much identical specs. But at the end of the day it’s y’all a money so do what you please

What os the name of this watch face you're using on the Fenix 7? I really liked it. I want to try it on mine. Thanks.... Awesome video, by the way.

I bought the Fenix 8 51 amoled! Far too many bugs!! The watch at night is unreadable due to auto-deeming (i have set mine in highest brightness but it deems so much that I can’t use it.. never had this issue with Fenix7X or EpixPro 51 amoled) Aldo the watch lags in many functions e.g on the screen you change watchfaces.. it’s ridiculous for such an expensive piece of tech!
@lacroixreviewsАй бұрын
Yeah it's crazy that they are selling a $1,000+ watch with bugs in the software. The value of the 7 series is way better in my opinion.

I love my Fenix 7 Pro. I won't upgrade to the 8. And, to be honest, I prefer the MIP display over the OLED.
@dbgfwbe1497Ай бұрын
to upgrade is always difficult to say, but one this is sure the Fenix 8 is not the 7(x) plus cosmetic changes, much more in terms of quality/access to the services provided, amazing watch very happy with it

Thank you for the review. This is exactly the comparison I needed. For some reason, other KZbin bloggers mostly compare it to the Enduro 3 or the Fenix 7 non-Pro. I want to give my husband a birthday present and am thinking about buying the Fenix 7x Pro. But I'm worried if their screen is bright enough. Or maybe I should buy the Phoenix 8 with AMOLED? I'm worried that the sapphire glass on the Phoenix 7 Pro will glare, and the Gorilla Glass will scratch, that the titanium on them will scratch. Some users also say that there are a lot of problems with the software. Please tell me, are you, as the owner of the Fenix 7 Pro, happy with your watch? Do you have sapphire or gorilla? If sapphire, does the glass glare much? And are there any scratches on the titanium and sapphire? And if you have Gorilla Glass, are there any scratches on the watch? Have you had any problems with the software? Thank you very much for your answers.
@lacroixreviewsАй бұрын
I have the gorilla glass version of the 7s pro. I've had it for a year now and there's no scratches on the glass. There are some minor scratches on the titanium bezel but they are not really noticeable unless you look closely. I've worn the watch through a few Spartan races and it's held up well. I can't really speak to the brightness on the MIP displays with the sapphire glass because I've never owned one but I think it would be bright enough. For me, with the smaller version of the watch I would rather have the MIP display with good battery life and always on but if you are opting for the 51mm version then maybe the 8 would be better because the battery life is much better on the bigger watches. However, the 7 is about $200 cheaper so I guess it comes down to if you think a brighter display plus the new voice / diving / interface functions is worth an extra $200.

I bought the 7xPro 3 weeks ago. I love it. The solar edition is useless but I'd definitely be more interested in the Saphire protection. 51mm is a must unless you have great vision. I reference my watch a million times during cardio and I literally thank God I got a larger display. 😉

Those complaining should have many other video options to look at. This is perfect for where I'm at right now. I have an Apple 7 lol... I have been wanting to upgrade to a Garmin and waited until holiday season so I can get the best deals. I have debated between the Fenix 8 43mm with Venu 3s, Epix and Enduro. Venu 3s would have given me my minimal upgrade needs such as longer battery life (mainly) and a round bezel. Then I was like, screw it I want a more durable watch especially for hiking so, despite the high price, I was set on the Fenix 8 hoping it would be included in REIs sale... but it's not and it probably won't be on sale for at least a year since it is so new. Since the Fenix 7s Pro is on sale, I am back to being indecisive but this video will help a lot. Thank you!

Thanks for the comment! I bought my Garmin on sale last Holiday season for $200 off and looks like they are doing an even better discount this year at $250 off the Fenix 7 Pro series. In my opinion this is a way better value than buying the fenix 8 at full price.

@@marko-182 Grew tired of the exaggerated flick of the wrist to see info in direct sun or when I was driving. I never had an issue with MIP. I could always see information. If it was in evening/dark indoors or night the light gesture on MIP was quicker and worked every time. I’m not sure if the amoled screen is just more taxing on the processor in these watches or what. I’d definitely consider amoled in the future on Garmin watches but not until they Increase the brightness to what the competition has. Amazfit has double the brightness and so does Samsung galaxy watches and Apple Watches. I have zero issues on my AWU

Hi, great video I just want to know some more feature regarding receiving calls. Normally i wear wireless bluetooth, so if i answer the incoming call from the watch, so the voice of the other person will come from the watch, mobile or my connected wireless bluetooth? If, by answering the call from the watch, the voice of other person comes from the watch, so does the watch has the option to switch the voice of other person to my connected bluetooth from the watch itself..? Or do i need to pull out my phone from my pocket to do so..? Please make a detail video of it Thanks....
@lacroixreviewsАй бұрын
Personally, this isn't a feature that I've used but I believe if you answer from the watch it will play through the watch and the watch gives you the option to switch the call through to your phone. Here's a video I found on it. The phone features is around the 24:40 mark: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYqakGmGqMenlZY

The solar on the 7xPro (51) is a gimmick. I work outside although my watch is sometimes covered by my work gloves, it'd 100% not care if my watch had that "option". Now, the 51 is definitely the way to go and perhaps the "saphire" glass (there's actually no such thing) may provide better protection. But the solar? Skip it.
@lacroixreviewsАй бұрын
I agree, not sure how much difference the solar actually makes to the battery life and with the 51mm it probably doesn't matter much. I have the 43mm so I am glad to have a little bit extra battery life because I usually only get about a week of battery where I've heard the larger models get a lot more than that.
