Nikola Dietmar Krapp Because the majority of people are not intelligent and want to watch Lizzo videos instead of stuff that is actually useful. Also not to mention the fact that the fitness world is a very niche community. Most people don't like to exercise or even care about anything associated with it. We're a shrinking demographic. Fitness is dying. If you don't believe me look at the soaring obesity statistics. Any new fitness KZbinr is gonna be getting a run for his money nowadays. And I have nothing against this guy; his content is by far some of the best, but he's gonna have to really push it. I had a fitness KZbin channel and I made workouts for people but no one was really motivated to do the exercise. They just wanted to start drama and complained because I wasn't "big" enough. But yeah this guy knows his crap and I hope he can turn the younger generations around. Maybe this guy can start a fitness revival in this country because we haven't been in shape since like 100 years ago.

@@dixonlineberger3312 well, i'm obese, or let's say overweight too. i'm searching for info to make my workout more efficient to get rid of that excess weight. my athletic days (military service, tae kwon do, american football) are over for a while now, trying to get back in shape.

Nikola Dietmar Krapp The secret to losing weight is eating less calories. There you go. Not losing weight? Eat less and less until you get to your goal weight

@@dixonlineberger3312 as much as this is correct, it's also bullcrap. it's not about weightloss alone. kust eating less will also decrease muscle mass, and thereby physical strength.

Nikola Dietmar Krapp Look man you can't outwork a high calorie diet unless you do hours of cardio a day to offset the calories. There's no magic workout that you can do in less than an hour that's going to burn off a significant amount of calories.

Yes you do look fabulous and can strut that body on the cat walk. 😁 Thank you for the last statement regarding glute activation exercises and clearing that up for me! I'm trying to rebuild my body so that was very helpful. I workout at home and have resistance bands, a totally gym,, body weight exercises and my bike is on a trainer. I have had major sleep issues for many years now and have developed sacropenia from lack of excercise, my recovery times are long, I assume because of poor sleep. I'm on a GAPS protocol diet, anotherwrds I eat healthy. So getting the best bang for my buck while exercising is important to me. I'll be turning 50 this May, I'm 5'5 115 lbs of skin and bones. Thanks for the tips.

Hm, deadlifts work the forearms, what else do deadlifts work.. the glutes, hip adductors, some quad (prob less than 30% based on the lever, i.e. tibia forward tilt), erector spinae but only isometrically, not isotonically (i.e. dynamic ROM) some scapular retraction and, oh yeah huge spinal compression. It works a lot of things A BIT. Think I'll pass, plus have two disk protrusions from doing the damn things for years and all they gave me was a big rear end. Btw: Larry Scott and numerous other bb greats might disagree re: forearms (incl. grip and wrist strength).. possibly the most complex (i.e. used day-to-day) and overlooked part of the human anatomy. There's always been a moral equivalence about doing compound movements (i.e. 'good') over isolation or duo joint movements (i.e. bad or 'imbalanced') but when analysed most joint distortion, impingement (e.g. supraspinatus doing overhead presses) and other chromic injuries come from doing 'the basics' over years and years as most fail to comply with natural, anatomical full-range movement of the (target) muscle, plus a number place you at serious mechanical disadvantage (i.e. potential for injury increases) in stretch position, bench presses and chin-ups to name but two.. For longevity stick to the best exercises for target muscle not the 'biggest'

So no pull ups even? What about if I don't go down all the way to stay in the strong position?
@johnscott3893
@johnscott3893 5 жыл бұрын
Sure Vegeta, pullups are fine just moderately compromised so be aware of the marked mechanical disadvantage in the fully stretched position, i.e. the lever (upper arm) is parallel to direction of pull (your lats) which increases force requirement and cost to muscle vis-à-vis potential injury. You're right, there's never any need to go all the way down. Tip: "Roll" your head between your shoulders on the way down to prevent shoulder carriage from lifting while maintaining tension on the lats. I always start set from a 14" high box and lower myself into position with this move.

Was on a bit of a Doug Brignole kick when I wrote this response. For anyone who wants the lowdown on good biomechanics and some of the best exercises to that end, I would strongly urge them to buy Doug's book "The Physics of Fitness". Approach it with an open mind and digest each chapter slowly, 6-months on I've made some of the best improvements to my routine ever (I've been training 30-plus years). Not everything in it worked for me (exercise selection-wise) and, of course, there are always things to take issue with but huge eye-opener on biomechanics principles and how to apply them to your training... right now!

That is a really complicated topic much oversimplified by you Christian. I see too many powerlifters having problems with their ab/adduktors and medius, also their lower traps usually are underdeveloped compared to upper and mid traps, and long head of biceps also seems to be underdeveloped most of the time. Also lower chest lacks for many powerlifters as well. That is why Bodybuilders usually include some form of exercise for different deficits(lower chest, lower traps, long head biceps, long head triceps, serratus sometimes because it doesn't work as well in the benchpress). Oh and of course not doing anything for side delts would be pretty stupid as well, just overheadpress for example wouldn't be worth of the time either. I might have misunderstood you Christian, maybe its just what you are saying as well, could have misunderstood you. Nonetheless, What I like to do is having a Deficit Day. Basically a Day that I do all the fancy stuff to make sure to stay holistic overall. That greatly improved my neck and shoulder pain as well.

Yes, but if a young lady is spending 1.5 hours in the gym doing tons of glute exercises (minus the squats and deadlifts), she keeps the other gym members quite entertained, or at least some of them. If all she did was a few sets of deadlifts and a few sets of squats, she'd be gone in the blink of an eye. You see, there's definitely a trade-off here: if she were to do squats and deads, her glutes would actually be more ... developed. Is that the word? Hypertrophied, just to throw out a fancy term. In all seriousness, she should just do squats and deadlifts, maybe some lunges for dessert and some split squats.
