These are incredible!! It feels like there's been a real lack of Doctor Who merchandise these past phew years but if set's like these were officially released, I bet the fandom would swallow them up.

They certainly would be very popular if released however the major problem there would be the price. I paid £160 for both of these, which is pretty good I think but that's largely because they're not officially licenced/branded merchandise. If you go by parts count and compare them to similar Lego sets then you're looking at closer to £200 each, and even then that's without the added "branding charge" that Doctor Who as a popular franchise would incur likely raising the price to between £300-£400. At which point they become largely unavailable to a large portion of the fandom, and/or given how much people complained about the official Twelfth Doctor TARDIS set being £50, they would defiantly complain about these kinds of sets being that sort of price.

@CaptainJimiPie You make a good point 😄

That is very much the sad truth of things like this and/or many other bits of DW merchandise these days. To do them justice and get something like this they'd have to have a high price tag, which most people couldn't afford, the only other alternative is to reduce the parts needed to lower the price but then it would look nothing like this, and even then both of them would still be subject to a "branding charge". It's somewhat ironic that the best bits of merchandise these days are "unofficial" things like this because it's actually cheaper and more affordable to people.

Would love the Capaldi one looks very much like the character building 2013 console that was never released.

This one is actually more detailed than the CO planned one and closer to its proper design

I bought one of those 10th Doctor TARDIS sets a few months ago, did you switch out some the panels on the floor? Because an issue I had with mine was that those grated sections although on the original moc were different on the model and because of that the floor didn't quite fit together properly
@CaptainJimiPieКүн бұрын
Merry Xmas to you too! And I did find that the grated sections were quite loose, in the end I had to use a tiny dab of PVA glue in a few places to get it to hold together. Unfortunately being an MOC, even with the parts on the original they will always fit together slightly less well than an official set, but it does show the ingenuity of people who build MOC's who come up with fixings, even loose ones, that Lego wouldn't do!

I have the 10th doctor console room and it was missing a few parts and some of my parts were damaged and the seller I got mine of is no longer trading plus I used super glue for the console as it was very very loose.

I’ve seen sets on unoffical sets being sold on Amazon a while back tho But I didn’t know how legit they were so I never ordered one
@CaptainJimiPieКүн бұрын
Most definitely not legit, at least in the sense of being an official brand.

Oh, these a beautiful! 🥹 The missing parts is a little unfortunate, I’ve had that with official Lego sets, but I’ll have to take that risk because these a gorgeous!
@CaptainJimiPieКүн бұрын
They are lovely looking sets despite the issues I've genuinely never known Lego to actually be missing parts! There's always the joke about thinking parts are missing but they're always there usually haha
@oliversvoice4383Күн бұрын
I’ve had it now and then, worst was the Daily Bugle set due to the price it was, but it is what it is.
@CaptainJimiPieКүн бұрын
That's certainly quite a rare occurrence usually!

As I said in the video, the seller I bought these from is no longer trading but there are other sellers on AliExpress selling them, however as it's AliExpress there is no guarantee you'll get what you've actually paid for and what's shown in the pictures may not match what you recieve
