Claus, I go in phases, some periods of time I can’t get enough and I’m watching old videos and the daily videos just waiting for them to come up. And then other times life takes over and youtube and other media’s will get pushed to the side. But EVERY TIME I come back to watch an episode, I’m always impressed. And have to then play catch up! And I haven’t played WOT in over 2 years hahaha!

Stock gun with the S-51 (U.S.S.R., tier 7) is more attainable if you haven't ground British arty to tier 9.

Congrats on an ACE. Yep they really screwed up the spg missions. And if they changed campaign spg missions I can't tell. Pround owner of the US and USSR tier 8 spg's. My USSR commander has 30 Confederate medals and both with just 1st Class.

If you can add 2 Crew with adrenalin rush, splash yourself for most dmg gone , You can get it down really low and fire before your stun expires on the enemy.

My go to has always been the M53/55, I have far more seat time in that thing than I care to admit. The gun has amazing traverse so you can keep the aiming circle small and cover a huge portion of the map.

I kept mine when I unlocked the T92. I loved it and even post nerf I still like it. Not my go to arty for missions post nerf but still good enough to run now and again!

With the stock gun especially because there is a little difference in stun and splash range between the two guns and the stock one's reload time can be reduced to 22seconds which is awesome.

I think it's just using the right tool for the job. When I was grinding through the M53/55 I would play it with the small gun as well. It's always better to shoot the same person again instead of shooting someone else too, since they already used their medkit on the first shot. Such great design!

I use the smaller gun for some of these missions too, but after the arty nerf, if you miss a shot by a few meters, you wont even stun the target, let alone damage it.

Had that SPG researched two years ago but never bought it as I liked the big damage of the M43 and M53, back when you could land on a t29 engine deck and one shot it. The T92 could take over 2000 damage off a Tier X Russian Heavy. Not any more: I average about 120 damage / hit. Might have to give it a try now.

I unlocked the 279e 6 days after the chimera. I did it by having the first two tanks done with honors and then only focused on alliance. This SPG was critical in getting 4 of the missions done with ease.

This tactics still works outside of those SPG missions. Do remember to bring some damage shells for those hull-down heavy tanks / TDs

37:21... for best results, use tip of the crosshair, as the middle of it. In otherwords the tip of the upper vertical line (+) will now be the "center rectical", but that's exclusively in this mode, otherwise u'll often shoot over target, it just compensation for that "gap" firing in this mode. \O>

After arty nerf I stopped playing my Tier 10s and "down sized" to a tier 8 for faster relocation and aim times. But still fitted the top gun. What you show in this video is excellent advice for campaign missions (rate of fire = stun spam), which is the only reason I play arty at all. Thanks and as always a very good video.

@@Spooky711B The 279e missions are country dependent, that limits your choice.

@@Spooky711B As mentioned by Diatonic, the second set of campaign missions requires various countries. Review all the missions for the four groups (Union,Bloc,Alliance,Coalition) and find the ones that require you to stun or other arty type stuff. This will give you the arty nationalities required to complete missions. From there, use Claus advice and get arty with fast reload times. If possible fit them for good dpm/mobility/aim time (shoot and scoot is always advised imo).

It caused Claus' voice to sound like Helium Claus. I'd imagine Wargaming does not mind this play style, thinking of all the repair kits and first aid kits that have to be replaced from those stuns.

I use the SU-14-1 (tier VII) a lot to complete missions, especially the 7 crits in a battle daily mission. Use IRM, GLD and rammer. Around 3 rounds per minute with the smaller gun (11 second stun). I've lost count of how many times I've aced that tank, but despite that, I'm perpetually within 1 percent of the third MoE.

I already had that same thought: since SPGs now are all about being "stunning", there is no point to have a SPGs with a 210mm gun that shots once a month (and probably misses), the "meta" is to have a SPG with a small whinny that shots fast and so is very "stunning". It will be fun...in a wicked way. But this is a wicked world. Wargaming does not give you any choice.

We used to have a lot of fun with FV304 back in the days, that arc of fire is insane. My father once scored a kill while zoomed out going full speed and shooting random shots. That was the ultimate SPG experience.

Just tried the Claus Method on the 53/55 stock gun. 21.44 reload for 2.8 rpm. 238.67 sec stuns and 3 dirty messages after game calling me a cheater for firing so quickly, success .. Thx Claus your work here is done... P.S to get better results, put a temporary ban on 3 city/closed maps to get best open map selection.

This is why I love the M44. The leFH18B2 isn’t as good in my opinion (and I play that tank a lot,) because even though it has a fast ROF, the blast radius and stun is almost nonexistent. I think I’m about to go after the British line just for giggles now. I love some American SPG play.

A lot of these missions is really about owning and choosing the correct tanks for the job. For example: Union 11 - Fire 8 penetrating shots on average over 10 games. I could try in my WZ 5A with 6,8 shots per minute, but theres the tier 8 chinese medium with the 85 mm gun, with almost 16 rounds a minute.

i accumulated some spare silver during the holiday event and finally bought the tier 10 american spg that was researched like a year ago. Rolled few games in it, got an ace in game 2 with 3k dmg. I guess the bar is very low these days.. Hope missions will get adjusted, it's the only reason I'm playing arty at all. Although, I did have few good games in it.

Yea WN8 doesn't particularly work for artillery imo. Artillery is much more useful for making hell of people's lives than for doing damage these days. It's all about supporting via stun, track, or critical hits rather than shaving the entire HP bar off like it used to be. That being said, if you can somehow do thousands of damage in artillery you are also having a big impact (Like 2k-3k damage would be a great amount+stun)

The tier 10 French arty is pretty good for a lot of the missions. . It shoots a good number of rounds per minuit, stuns OK but it has good accuracy and bloom. .

Its still 2.7 shots every minute and better stun, pen, dpm and accuracy than the FV 3805 though. . Its been a while since I had to play arty. . I only played them for the obj 260. .

Awesome! 390 damage for Ace tanker :) Stunning performance! It makes me think that I might enjoy those missions. Usually the SPG missions are the easiest, and you should always find the best arty, gun & shell type to achieve the mission. Sometimes you're disappointed if you accidentally kill the enemy.

I'm trying whole day with this setup and while it really seems easier to stun more effectively, it doesn't reflect in what team is doing, most times it's just one flank rushing fast or falling too fast, or basicly not shooting what is stunned, at least in my games. For e.g. for 200s of stun i only got 300DMG on stun assist. Games on EU are more than random. Sadly 4000k of stun is not enough to be first in the team by EXP, which makes SPG-15 for T-55 infuriating and super tedious.
