Not a conspiracy theory. The Russians infiltrated the avro arrow project. They ordered that all the parts and the machines to make the parts be destroyed. This is declassified knowledge now

@@jonathanperry8331 The Arrow was totally fly by wire. It could be controlled from the ground and could complete it's mission with a dead pilot in the cockpit. It was the perfect interceptor for Canada ... and Russia. The Americans can use a more defense in depth strategy and use Canada as a buffer or no-man's land.

My favorite aspect of the EBR is when one spots you in a bush at 420m, does a zero turn at 100kmh, then auto locks you and hits you on the move at 450m after he disappears from sight

Avro was purchased by Hawker Siddeley and I think Klaus was referring to the Harrier Jet one of the first and possibly best VTOL jets ever produced. I believe Avro also produced the Lancaster and Vulcan Bombers too, fell out of my chair with the 'Find the Clown' game!! Great stuff as always Klaus.

The Avro Arrow had some cutting edge design, like the wing angle, which made it the premier fighter in development at the time - it looked like it was going to out perform everything, then was cancelled but major elements quickly appeared in other designs from other countries (US and UK). The harrier came later.

Don't forget Claus that Avro was an English firm. The same one that designed the Lancaster, amongst others, many of which were made in Canada. Ironic when you think that Alliot Verdon Roe (Avro) was a supporter of Oswald Mosley.

Hi Claus -- Well, technically it was AVRO CANADA that designed the CF-105 Arrow since AVRO was a British company responsible for the WW II LANCASTER heavy bomber and the cold-war era VULCAN jet bomber (really cool bat-winged heavy bomber). And yes the ARROW shows very impressive specs for its period. If I wanted to add to the conspiracy theories I would guess the Diefenbaker government succumbed to political pressure from Eisenhower (Am. Prez at the time) to support American aircraft development of that period. The ARROW was killed in 1959 - compare that to two premiere American fighters of that same time frame: Lockheed's F-104 Starfighter which first flew in 1954 and was accepted by the Air Force in 1958, and the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II which first flew in 1958 and was accepted in 1961. Both of these aircraft saw extensive use by the U.S. military but even more importantly they both were SOLD to many foreign countries!! So I'm sorry Claus but the ARROW didn't lose on its merits; it lost to the almighty American Dollar!

Avro also made the Lancaster bomber, but I watched a documentary on the arrow and something dodgy happened there as they even destroyed the prototypes, back handers from the yanks I expect

@@hopeinen5287 Ugh I had similar the other night. 3 arty, 3 veeled wehicles, and 2 other light tanks on each side. And this was a tier 8 battle. All but one of the many lights rushed the middle of Steppes and died in the first minute or so. 1 light tank lived, on their side. Such a craptastic battle that one was.

the arrow was a long range fighter jet.. it was cancelled and we recieved short range attack craft. that have to land and refuel 3 times to fly over canada. avero only needed to refuel once. in a air supriority role arrow could stay longer and support more.. if they made an Arrow 2 with todays technology it would be a world beating design Still.

I just researched about Avro Arrow. What a shame what happened. By all the accounts the plane was indeed way ahead of everything in its time and the cancellation is a shady affair. I can see why conspiracy theories surround the whole affair

I used to be very addicted to this game. But Wargaming helped me alot when they invented the clown cars. I am one of those who think that clown cars don’t belong to this game and that they ruined it. Wot it’s now essentially a game of speed at higher tiers. And Lower tiers are plagued by moronic seal clubbers. Anyway I quit playing and I don’t miss it at all. Just watching Claus’ and Mighty Jingles’ videos for the lols and keep an eye on the development of the game, dreaming one day the clown cars will be gone forever. I know, it won’t happen. Sigh.

Yep. Let the clown cars spot themselves out of the game and then you can actually play. I suppose that might be why I don't miss the game as much as I thought I would after 6 months away from it. On a side note - if I take a break from slaying crappie every week and do come back to WOT, I don't think I'll buy the AMX13 105...what's up with that horrendous bloom every time he moves the turret?!? Just WG. Russians don't like it either. They wanted a big nerf or remove too. I read from a guy that said that a chariot with a mounted KPVT machine gun can destroy easily a EBR without aim. And more complaining about the unfair bounces on paper armor of those tanks, a separate class instead of being in the tracked light tank class... the same thing as always.

I wish I could get a refund on all my mobile vehicles because I have never felt like being made such a fool than how WG behaves implamenthing the equivilent of alladins carpet in a game composed entierly of TANKS, not to mention the kilometers long list of reasons why they are just plain unrealiztic and wrong. Show me a clip of an EBR in real life doing half the shit Neo would struggle with in the matrix honestly.

I only laughed as hard as i did about HARMZ bcuz we just played them in CW twice ina row at the 9pm hour and 9:15 battle times. stomped em both matches. i even kept an eye out for ya boi, did not see him in post battle report.... too bad maybe he coulda helped them not get smashed as badly. but in all honesty, its kinda like my senior year in college and harmz is freshman chubbos, lettin me just smash OVER and OVER and OVER....
