The way I see map positioning, there's two sides on each map: medium and heavy (not always as clear as day as to which one is which, but still). Playing both sides will probably result in a loss, you need to pick one and hold it (spawn area is normally very vulnerable, if you try to push through it you are most probably getting wrecked). Now on each of those sides there are positions for all vehicle classes, with maybe the exeption of light tanks (normally they play mid early game to spot and then just retreat and do the medium tank thing).

That enemy team lineup was such an easy read for a veteran player. You have to let your slow team know where you need them to go because they do not have the skills to comprehend the situation.

Many many thanks for this video. This is what is needed to progress in WOTB : how to position yourself in the map. I have almost 30k battles, I master most of the skills but when I lose is 9 times out of 10 because of bad positioning of my tank on the map. Yes you can blame your team mates sometimes but if you have a strong position on map, you can carry somehow the team. Please do more of these videos and eventually topics about positioning oneself on map depending on tank type.

Normally speaking, med side is way better than heavy side for every map. 2 reasons, 1, med side can normally get more hull down position as an advantage. 2, together kill meds first is easier to kill heavies first. Everyone knows kill the weakest target is best choice which is basic strategy of all battles or all games.

Also splitting is bad most of the time, just do a small statistics, count how many games your team split, and the WR in these games.

I ABSOLUTELY think you should do these for each map. I also really get a lot from your utilizing game footage live as you record. It’s crucial players can see the different scenarios and challenges they’ll face and how to develop multiple contingencies for each scenario on each map. QUESTION: when you describe “heavy/medium” sides of the map, you sound almost matter of fact about it like its common knowledge or perhaps should be. Where can I locate a resource with that base level info? I’ve played and watched enough streams that I’ve seen all kinds of differing strategies and tactics be successful given all the players are on board and engaged. When/where/who was it that decided a certain side of a map is heavy and another is medium?

It depends on your tanks too if you are in a big map with a fast tank you have an advantage but if you are in a small map like the black goldville it's a nightmare but you will have advantage if you are in a Heavy tank because you have more Armour and u can lead your team mates If they listen to you (quite rare if the whole team listen to you)

Some questions from a noob (me): When you drive a fast tank in this scenario couldn't you take a route to spot what the reds are doing (trying to minimize the risk of being completely destroyed meanwhile) and as a result "convince" your team to spin around(?) When you realize that the enemy team is driving in a circle, just like your team, hence stretching the team due to speed difference, isn't it wiser to spin around and face their fastest ones as a team and kill them one by one as they come through versus leaving your slow movers in the dust and let the enemy team do the same thing as they catch up to them?

Also, sometimes you start a match and u look where your team is going and you say 100% lose right off the bat, but the enemy either played poorly or our team somehow miraculously eliminated the enemy while you were trading hp with one heavy and the rest of the team decimates the enemy even though your team went to poor map positions.

Please reconsider the percentange of teams that dont know where to go on certain maps, 20-30% is way understatement, especially in this stay at home restrictions, I would sugest 60-70%. But your video is spot on, hope some players learn something. Also in the first engagement on faust if you pushed hard you might dave had a chance (Is-4 and the T110 definatelly gone, and gould have posisioned for the meds assault).

Nice video. I would love to see one about OASIS PALM. Most of the time when the heavies push to the heavy/town area, I notice they are exposed to the desert, they get spotted and killed by ennemies tanks that aren't even spotted at the back. For me that town area is a huge problem, I see so much teams losing because of this. Would love to have an opinion/analysis over this.

This game needs white phosphorus smoke rounds in ammo loadout. A penalty to use smoke advantage could be double the loading time for the next shell fired.

I don’t think you need to do any videos on other maps. In my experience there’s always that one game where team doesn’t communicate and gets completely rekt, just like your example. In my opinion I think you should focus on “How to tank” videos more then map strategy because there’s an infinite amount of possibilities that could happen w the maps. Take care, pewpew.

We don’t need detailed information on every single situation. Just rule-of-thumb stuff for us nubs. Like, which direction is generally good for heavier tanks, and which one for lighter tanks was by far the most useful info for me in this video. Explain why, please. Of course we have to adapt. But this map is completely unfamiliar to me. I need to know just some of the basics. Keep it simple. You over complicated it worrying about covering every situation. Explain that these are only generalizations. Thanks for trying.
