This reinforcement of my lack of confidence in the spec going forward is exactly the reason I'm dropping my Spriest in Wotlk. I didn't mind being utility and bottoming meters for the past 6 months because the scaling was shit, but to take away the utility and still have sub-par dmg is just too much to deal with.

I hear you if you're considering speed run metas with the best of the best. But I did a 25m world tour yesterday in medium good gear and most of the dps were doing above 5kdps and I was consistently in the top 6, with my average boss damage being around 5.8k Getting mostly 80-90 parses. Sure at the pinnacle of performance we can seem lackluster, but for most raids and most groups and most players capabilities, a good shadow priest can hang. We can beat dks and rogues and mages if they're not really good

Your just bad then. Friend of mine doing 6k+ dps and is just under the rogues for top dps in naxx 25. Some kids are just to lazy or incompetent. Spriest has the potential. People are just to bad

Sub par damage? Bro, I do fairly damn well. Everyone wants to be top dps, so roll top dps classes, and then get smashed by "sub-par " classes, because they're actually trash and just think rolling an S class will make them good.

Also its so fucked up that people get banned for AFK'ing in BG's. Yes its annoying - but its not worth banning someone for. Lock them out of BG's, sure. But outright ban is crazy. You don't get banned for griefing PvE content! You don't get banned for botting most of the time! Gold buyers hardly ever get caught! But get accused of AFK'ng in AV? Banned for 30 days. That's INSANELY DUMB. Especially since 95% of AV is literal AFK'ing 'legitimately'. Run to tower, wait. Run to outside boss room, wait. Kill boss, Its such a dumb situation where you get more honour from doing literally nothing then you do with actual PvP.

Go look at the sims, they all have the ability to put Focus Magic on it, early on Shadowpriests are the better one to use it one, depending on fight length by a larger margin. later its Fire Mage & Boomkins.

That guy, asking for boomkin nerfs Omegakek. Brother, while your special snowflake shadow priest was mandatory throughout the whole TBC expansion, my boomkin was a benchwarmer for Sunwell progress. Besides, there is no way Blizzard would even dare to make a class change in classic. Massive outcry would happen. If you want class nerfs, Ion's retail is there for you.

Mind flay not scaling with haste in wrath always felt like an oversight to me, even back in the day, considering the two other dots get haste scaling from shadowform and the fact that corruption scales with it. It'd clearly not become as strong as corruption with the scaling but it would certainly make it a stronger dot in terms of wanting to keep it running with dots on. Maybe they did it because trolls could be priests and it'd be too powerful with berserking?

@@praedonius9693 I recently started using only when you have 1 GCD before reapply VT, u havent the time to MF 2 and use MF 1 is not worth, just here is the time to use SWD. This is in bosses with low movement, in bosses with movement i prefer keep SWD

I’ve found a sweet spot where you don’t use it on CD like tbc but rarely. Non moving I tend to find benefit using it when you need to reapply VT. You want good uptime on those and you also don’t want to clip it so I use SWD when VT is neeearly coming off and when you’re off GDC (and mb is on CD), and you have like 1.5-2 sec left on those dots. If you 2 tick mind flay then recast VT, you will lose some decent uptime, you also don’t wanna just like want a 1/2 sec afk to recast w/o clipping, I’m those situations I will SWD into a VT refresh. Times where 2 tick mins flay takes too long but a SWD GCD is a more appropriate amount of time

Unless you’re speedrunning, that conversation doesn’t even apply. If you like shadow priest, play it… it’s plenty good enough in p1. they even seem to believe the long term health of the spec is great even for them.

From wrath onward, this can be said about a lot of other classes, but shadow priest is the only class that has been singled out in the past, so it's the go to as an example. For example, give Warlocks the ability to make food and you don't need Mages......see?
