But let's get real, all we're really seeing here is the usual conservative projection, with the corollary that every accusation is a confession. Candace here complains about an alleged event of a woman potentially being misled by a doctor. Candace has repeatedly given people horrifically bad medical advice. Such that even if that story was true down to the tiniest detail, I'd still trust that doctor more than Candace.

If this person was prescribed an IUD by a licensed medial provider, I can say with almost absolute certainty that she was informed at the time of the potential risks and complications. I’m a 54 yr old man and I am well aware of them from my HS health and sex ed classes, human bio course in college and even the most cursory investigation of IUDs on web searches and literature. I just had this conversation/debate with my sister, feeling the need to justify why I prefer that any medical treatments I take have at least some scientific backing as opposed to people's "miracle" or woowoo feel good stories. My sister, on the other hand, believes that the placebo effect in itself is a miracle and that overly scrutinizing and analyzing /wanting actual proof keeps you in your preferred state of not wanting to be healthy. I've seen Candace Owns before. Her videos keep coming up in my recommended feed even though I think I've only agreed with her ONCE in all of the times I've seen any of her videos. She didn't LEAVE a cult because science isn't a cult. She JOINED a cult. Candace is for some reason a Trump supporter. She's one of the reasons I say that Trump suppers aren't all deplorable people because she's clearly a black woman and you can't exactly accuse a black person of being racist against herself and a woman of being sexist against her own gender. But supporting Trump is unknowingly going against her own best interests. But that's what a cult does, it recruits people and brain washes them into believing that their cult leader actually cares about them when really the leader is hurting them in order to further his own goals. I've commented on a few of her videos correcting the misinformation she's been regurgitating but I'm pretty sure she has me blocked at this point and will never see the damage she's doing to herself and others.

You hit the nail on the head. As soon as Ms. Owens started relating this story, my lawyer brain focused on a plethora of questions. As you stated, was the device inserted properly, what about the woman's hygiene, was the device defective for some reason, did the woman ignore symptoms that the device was causing, until those problems were serious, etc. I would also tell Ms. Owens, that there's no medicine, medical procedure etc. that is 100 percent safe. Even though a device or procedure has proven to be safe, there are still statistical outliers where things don't work as planed. That's why doctors warn us of the risks, even though they may be intestinally small. However, when you weight the risks with the benefits, the benefits outweigh the risks. Even though I was a small child, when the first polio vaccine came out, my mother couldn't get me to the mass vaccination site, to get my sugar cube laced with the polio vaccine, fast enough. She trusted the science, because even if there was a risk, it was worth taking, so that I could avoid a crippling disease. As far as a contraceptive device is concerned, Candice should also know, but I doubt she does, that the U.S. has the highest maternal death rate among advanced nations. This means that the women she refers to, has a greater chance of dying of childbirth in the U.S, so a contraceptive device may be a lifesaver, but one thing's for sure, ignorance more times than not, can be fatal.

Your videos are bittersweet because I want to put them on while working or doing something else but then I'll miss all the text jokes, so I only ever sit down and watch them. It'd be cool to have listenable versions of WOTMs that pause to read the text. Perhaps you could use AI to turn your voice feminine or something to distinguish it from what's spoken. I'd probably end up watching both versions for at least some of them.
