Ralph if anything had every right to be angry at Gene for having Mary bake the 30th anniversary cake with Felix and the nicelanders on top as the heroes but him as the “villain” at the bottom metaphorically describing how the nicelanders discriminate against Ralph and treat him like the villain he is supposed to be in Fix It Felix Jr. despite the fact that Ralph never was actually a villain in the first place outside his video game’s program due to never actually behaving like one but Gene sorta is the true villain for having NiceLand built in Ralph’s Forest moving the tree stump he lived in to the dump causing Ralph to almost destroy niceland out of vengeance before Felix fixes it making Ralph the villain he was (In the video game only) and Felix the hero he was leading to another heated argument between Ralph and Gene on that matter (Felix even attempts to break it up but fails.) to the point where Ralph destroys the cake out of vengeance and finally draws the line with Gene and the nicelanders’s unfair discrimination towards him for being the villain of the video game and decides to win a medal and prove he can be a hero to get them to appreciate him better and allow him to live in the penthouse with them and be put on top of the cakes the nicelanders make and also banish Gene to his tree dump in the dump as revenge for his cruel actions towards him, setting up the rest of the story’s events, and Gene ultimately faces the consequences for his behavior towards Ralph when it leads to the latter going “Turbo” and being put out of order threatening to be unplugged but when Ralph finally returns Gene doesn't bother to apologize for his behavior but gives Ralph the penthouse and leaves the video game (Abandon ship) with the other nicelanders to be unplugged and leave Ralph in it to die with the rest of the video game when it’s unplugged as payback for starting the incident without realizing that he himself was all to blame for it in the first place, but when Wreck-It-Ralph and Fix-It-Felix Jr. return to the game the next day after they defeat and kill all with Sergeant Calhoun and Vanelope’s help the cy-bugs invading Sugar Rush and Turbo/King Candy and reset the video game making Vanellope is protagonist and one of its raving avatars, Princess Vanellope again, allowing all the nicelanders to move back in and saving the game from being unplugged, Gene sorta finally sees the error of his ways and turns over a new leaf (Though he still should have been punished for his jerkass actions towards Ralph offscreen Ralph also is shown punching Gene in one brief scene in Ralph Breaks the Internet as he and the other characters witness LitWak plugging in the WIFi-Router as laser-guided karma for his jerkass behavior towards him in the first movie.) and he and the Nicelanders stop discriminating against Ralph for being a villain and start treating him more like the hero he just became and let him move into the penthouse in Niceland. (Ralph also let’s Q Bert and his villain friends from Q Bert move into Fix It Felix Jr. as characters in a bonus round for the arcade video game and makes houses for them to live with outside of Niceland with Felix’s help.) This makes Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story looks like less of a jerkass than Gene is and unlike Gene, Potato Head actually gets his comeuppance and laser-guided karma for his antagonistic behavior towards Woody for his mistreatment and jealousy towards Buzz Lightyear in the first Toy Story movie.

@Silentgrace116 жыл бұрын
It's kind of akin to the dilemma when it comes to bullying though - if you just kind of watch everything happen on the sidelines, and don't actively call someone out for their negative actions, to some degree you're part of the problem. Felix did what he could to be nice to Ralph, but when the Nicelanders were clearly being mean and cruel, he just stood back and tried to make peace indirectly ("How about we just eat the cake?" which is basically trying to redirect the conflict rather than solve it) rather than addressing the real problem here.

As this video points out, having the citizens interact with Ralph in a civil way was important to shaping their image of him. The invitation to eat cake was an opportunity for this interaction, and in suggesting, "How about we just eat the cake," I give Felix credit for trying to maintain this opportunity by de-escalating the situation. His comment was definitely directed toward Gene, to get him off his back. Felix was the only one who challenged Gene to any extent - albeit indirectly - and he spoke up even though by that point Ralph had already made the ceiling fall on him. Could Felix have done more? Yes, and he spends the rest of the movie gaining awareness and empathy for Ralph's point of view.
@RequiemPoete5 жыл бұрын
@@simplebutpowerful The problem is, your air bender tactics won't work here. There's no way to dodge nor sidestep the underlying issues at play. Even if Gene backed down, and cake eating commenced it would be done in awkward silence until Gene found some way of either insulting Ralph or getting pissed at him. Only thing that would have worked would be directly confronting Gene's attitude.

@@regularguy2807 I know that and of course I don't blame Ralph. He's a lovable goofball! I just saying that considering all the characters do have their own emotions and feelings. To Gene being the first to be tossed out every single time might cause a deep sense of hurt almost as of Ralph wasn't targeting him intentionally and not just because of code. We know that each character knows that they are in a game but depending on their role it may lead them to become distraught woth their life, as evidenced by Ralph and the rest of the "bad guys". Also although they all know the basics of their games, I doubt they know everything. After all if the nicelanders knew everything about the code then they would probably already know that Ralph was a good guy deep down. Ralph has grounds to hire Phoenix Wright. It says in the song 'Wreck it, Wreck it Ralph', an official song and therefore part of the canon, that the green space and Ralph's stump was taken over due to eminent domain. However, this is normally only used to acquire land for public works. A private luxury apartment building does not qualify. Even if you use the interpretation that by replacing the green space with an apartment benefits the public good by increased tax revenue (an excuse for third party developers to steal peoples homes if I ever heard one), Ralph had surely lived there long enough to have squatters rights. As owner of the land, he should have been given fair market value. Since he's destitute and living in a dump, I think it's safe to say that didn't happen.

More like Meanlanders. It's really hard to call them nicelanders when you realize that they're technically the true villains of the game. This is indicated by the cutscene in the beginning where Ralph basically explains the origin of his role ad the supposed "villain" of the game's plot, as the guy was minding his own business until the so-called "nice"landers basically forced him off his home and into a junkyard. And to add insult to injury, built a hotel in place of his stump! I wouldn't be surprised if Gene spearheaded this event (considering the guy's a leading authority in their little community), which could also be the reason why Ralph targeted him first so frequently.

Well it’s simple, fix it felix jr is one of the oldest games at the arcade and felix is the star of said game. At the party, a lot of heroes from various games are at the party. Turbo was a very popular game until a better game came along. Now if turbo was a minor game character from a game that no one really played then no one would care about him doing stupid things, but he was one of the big shots and his name was used to refer to that same thing he did for ages. There’s definetly a high chance that they knew eachother but very little evidence.

Unrelated to the video, but I had a suggestion for another Disney theory. What if Dr. Fecilier from The Princess and the Frog is the son/grandson of Mama' Odie? It would explain her age if he was in his late 40's early 50's. Plus they both use voodoo magic, and are known to be royals of their craft. Mama' Odie is described as the "voodoo queen of the bayou" and Dr. Fecilier mentions how "I'm a prince myself on my mother's side." You don't have to do it, but it was just a thought.

Nah I don't think Felix was being mean to Ralph. At least not on purpose. I agree with you that he thinks what he's saying and doing is just the natural order and the way things must be done to keep the peace. But if that's the mayor, isn't he responsible for approving construction plans for the city, & so responsible for Ralph's home being pushed into the landfill? If he had made sure surveys were done appropriately before approval, it would have been discovered someone already lived there. So even though he gets thrown, it's his fault still, & he knows it!

I felt the movie accurately depicted Wreck it Ralph was infamous for breaking things, much like Fix it Felix is known for fixing things. Later in the film (spoilers) Felix tries to break out of jail by hitting the bars only to make them tougher. I feel this perfectly captures the struggles Ralph faced with the Nicelanders. Every time Ralph shows up he would wreck something and Felix would naturally fix it. Perpetuating that Ralph makes the mess, Felix cleans it up, Ralph is the bad guy and Felix is the hero. If anyone knows what Ralph is going through, it's Felix. Probably why it's so unclear whether Felix is mean or nice to Ralph in the beginning. Since they are polar opposites they have a working relationship but are equally repulsed.

What really confuses me is why didn't Sonic almost instantly stop Gene. Sonic not the type to just say "oh their game let them figure it out" no, Sonic would have asked Ralph what's up. First of all; after watching this movie again last night, I now understand Zangief's words from Bad Anon. Just because Ralph is the Bad Guy in his game, it doesn't mean he's a bad guy when the game's off. Yet, in spite of being a genuinely kind guy; the Nicelanders treat him like he's the living embodiment of COVID-19. The way I see it, Ralph just wanted to be given some respect; he didn't truly want to be a hero. Second of all, the game may be called Fix-It Felix...but it's RALPH that players love most. Therefore, HE should be given more respect and attention; despite being the game's "villain"

Yeah especially given you can literally cut the amount of nicelanders in half or more and nothing would be lost meanwhile if either Ralph or Felix go ghost the game is fucked
@minecraftWithDanielD5 жыл бұрын
Here's what I believe the story of the game is. Ralph lived alone in the woods with his stump until the nicelanders came along and built their building driving him away. Angered, Ralph approaches the nicelanders and request that they relocate as he was there first. They refuse but in turn, offer him his own apartment as a way of saying sorry. This enrages Ralph as he believes they are trying to replace the home they took away from him so he in turn tries to take away their home, hence why they believe he isn't kind and is underserving of living with them because of his harsh rejection of their kind offer

Gene tells him their game is gonna get unplugged because of him. Ralph said he never wanted this to happen and he was tired of living alone in the garbage and Gene says “Well now you can live alone in the penthouse”.
