I read from Reddit that Camilo's room might have shapeshifting abilities too. During his lines in 'We Don't Talk About Bruno', we see Mirabel and Camilo in a dark chamber as to where we can assume reflects the 'scary/weird' description they give Bruno. We can also note that Camilo was able to control the floors they were standing when it became sand. Mirabel probably asked Camilo about their uncle in his room which allowed him to provide an immersive answer to Mirabel. I really loved this theory and would like to listen to your opinions too!✨

Bruno's stairs, abuela's exact replica of the room she her of shared with the husband she lost, Isabella's "pretty and perfect" room. Now I think their rooms will have the purpose of letting them to relax and not a reminder of their duty and the expectations of others. Plus I don't think Disney would leave the doors unmarked at the end and not have a significant meaning to it.

Agreed. It even has similar personality traits to him. He's goofy, energetic, protective, and loving. The casita embodies this and it has a different relationship with every member of the family. With abuela it helps her keep order in the house and dicipline the kids. When Mirabel was being disruptive at breakfast it moved her beside abuela so she could keep order, something the abuelo of a family would do. With Mirabel and Antonio it's silly and fun but also firm and parental. It reminds them they're late and makes them get up and go but it does so in a fun way that makes them laugh. It protect Bruno and gives him a place to live, understanding that he had to leave and caring for him anyway. And with the town it is a nice host, taking everyone's hats, turning food on the grill, and keeping the kids away from Antonio's door by playing with them. All things I think Abuelo would've done if he were there.

She deeply felt not being special and was even told that she wasn’t special (by powerless villagers btw!) but ultimately her power was that she never needed a power. If you consider Meribel becoming the new matriarch of the family, it makes perfect sense that her "room" would be the house like at the end of the movie. If shes replacing Alma and Alma's room is a recreation of the room she shared with Pedro, then Maribel's room being the house is like an extension of Alma's room that is based on a house. It's kinda like that leader role becoming more involved with the family. But I've never noticed the lack of set images on the door, it would be fun to see if the new magic would result in a refresh in everyones powers. Kinda makes you wonder how much casita/the magic knew about the future, like is Antonio still a child on his door because casita knew theres be a magic reset before Antonio reached a certain age? Did Maribel not receive her "room" because she hadn't yet "come of age" to play the role she was meant to? Also at the end of the movie Casita brings Maribel inside from OUTSIDE the house, did it always have power over the surrounding area like that or did it stop at the doorway before the magic was strengthened by the family coming together?

I actually wrote a fanfic where Mirabel gets her own room. It’s a basic room, but one that has plenty of space where people can talk. She alao has drawers full of thread and cloth for her embroidery. The other thing is that Mirabel gets her own candle as I think the Casita chose her to become the next matriarch.

I had theory that after the house got its magic back that Mirabel would get a room aswell. Her room would be big and colorful with all of her craft supplies but still look like an ordinary bedroom (like Abuela's) but the special thing about Mirabel's room would be that it nullified the powers. As in like, none of the other Madrigals would be able to use their gifts in her room and Casita would also be able to do stuff in her room (since it can't affect the other magical rooms.) I thought this would be cool because its obvious in the movie that a.) The Madrigals felt slightly burdened by their gifts and b.) Mirabel adores her family so much that she'd be a safe place for them so I thought her room would be one to. A normal room where whoever enters it is just normal: Pepa doesn't have to worry about a cloud, Luisa has no expectations to be strong around Mirabel or Dolores can finally give her poor ears a rest because she'd hear like a normal person. This would also put them on the same playing field as Mirabel, being a normal person. I imagine that whenever someone was stressed or wanted to talk to Mirabel in a safe place where there were literally 0 expectations for them (cause they wouldn't be able to do anything) it'd be Mirabel's room. I also like to imagine that Mira, Isa and Luisa would have a lot of sleepovers in each others room because they're closer than before and just wanna talk. Isa's room probably smells nice and they do a lot of plant things, Luisa only ever allows them into her amusment park and Mira's room is where they get to act like normal people and chill.

My theory is also that Camilonhas a room full of mirrors, but not necessarily for practice. My head canon is that they are there to always show him who he truly is so that he doesn't forget. I got this head canon from reading the w.i.t.c.h comics. There is this issue in the witch comics where a girl have this ability to change her appearence, the thing is, she doesn't always control it, but somehow, people who know her doesn't notice that she's changing, it is just completely normal, as if she always looked like she does in that moment. And the sad thing is, she doesn't remember how her true self looks, until she gets help from the w.i.t.c.h girls. So that is why I belive, Camilonis granted a room with thruthfull mirrors.

I think Mirabel's room would have her craft supplies, a be very colorful. I also think it would have maps, pictures, and things to remind her of the journey she went through to save casita and her Family's magic. Mirabel seems very adventurous and caring towards her family. We see want to help and participate even without a gift. I think it would be colorful and filled with everything to remind her of just how special she is and everyone she loves. Maybe even a river since their magical encanto was gifted to them at a river and it was the same river where Mirabel was found by Abuela after casita collapsed.

Dolores could hear a threat coming so they could defend themselves or if a child was lost, she'd be able to find them. Isabella also could help with crops. All fruits are flowering plants. Mirabel is extremely insightful and pushes people to break past their trauma so they can be their best self. Not just her sisters, her grandmother and even her cousin when he was afraid. I also think she caused her father to stand up for her when he's usually very unassuming and meek.

I'm in the process of writing a fanfic and I imagine Camilo's room to be what seems to be a normal room (decorations based on his character) when you enter it, but either: A) A tall mirror that's a "doorway" to the main attraction: A room which can be _anything_ with the snap of his fingers B) The same concept as A, but the normal room can shapeshift into what Camilo wishes

For Mirabel's room I like to think that her door dissappeared because the whole Casita became her room. If she represent the magic, love and bonds of the family and the Casita/Candel is the thing that gives the magic and holds them together, then it would make sense the all of the space out side of the her family's rooms became her room. This driven home by how she interacts with the Casita most and how she talks to it. It is also backed up (in my mind) by the ending when she put the door nob on the front door at the end. She was chosen by the Casita to become the heart of the family and so she didn't need a special room all to her self cos that would be isolating her self away from the family. Instead, the house that connects all her family's room together became her room even the nursey that still housed the youngest of the family Antonio who didn't have his gift yet could be given courage and comfort by Mirabel while waited for his gift. By that's just how I see it 😅

Operating on the "Mirabel is future matriarch" theory, I picture Mirabel having something in her room that monitors the Madrigals. For example, a giant quilt hanging on a wall that depicts the family, and the colors or expressions shift based on how they feel at that moment.

Bruno's room is one of the best metaphor for his role within the family and how he feels about it. He's "the one who left" (actual defined role within a family structure) but he's also the one who differentiated from his family. His room puts emphasis on his different view of the world, his separation is both physical and mental. Also, the dry, rocky and sandy style underline the loneliness of his position. About the endless stairs (and the sign saying "your futur awaits), I think it could be an unconscious choice from Bruno so people would leave him alone. He's an oracle, his gift would be one everybody, much like what happens with Luisa, would want to make use of and it would quickly become a burden. In the end, I feel like he helped Mirabel perhaps more out of love for his family than because he wanted to save the magic. Who would want to keep a power that's a curse more than a gift? When he left and hid his vision, it was because he understood that this vision would make his niece miserable and others would fear her or maybe hurt her out of fear of loosing their magic. Perhaps that could have happened, he had no way to know for sure. Yet he chose to save her because he loved her and the magic be damned. When Abuela claims Bruno didn't care about their family, the ironic truth is he cared more than her... He's one of the best characters in recent Disney movies ❤️

This is really awesome to see more behind the scenes on what each Madrigal Family room looks like because for a while the only room we physically saw were Antonio, Isabela and Bruno's room but no so much the other rooms from the other Family members Like Luisa, Abuela Alma or Camilo. After all she is the only one that addresses Casita directly. That's why her door disappears into the wall. The house IS her room, and that's why she stays in the nursery. Mirabel didn’t have a room before because there was, literally and figuratively, no place for her in the family. Now that they’ve accepted her, she will have a room of her own, likely with sofas for any stressed family visitors.

I like the theory that the rooms can change afterwards, and that got my thinking on how the rooms could change. While Antonio’s room may very well be identical, I suspect Bruno and Isabella’s rooms will be drastically different. Perhaps Bruno’s room could be more like it’s original concept, being more of a cathedral. This shows how he is now more connected to the family (literally, as churches are meant to be visited) but still keeps a prophetic vibe. As for Isabella, I like the idea that instead of a flowery palace room, it instead changes into more of a cottage core terrarium, where plants of all types can grow, as well as showing her becoming more expressive of her true self.

Yeah I thought the same, I imagined that Mirabel's room would be a huge room with arts and crafts, buttons and yarn and fabric flooring. The idea being that Mirabel is someone who patches up bonds with others or can connect and understand them through her own unique way. Or an alternate theory being she has a bunch of present boxes with different surprises in them 😭 I don't know why I feel like that fits her personality. The unpredictability of what lies inside but requires some work to find value in.

Here's something I hardly see anyone talking about is how EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY tied thier entire selfworth to thier gift alone. Their ENTIRE IDENTITY is tied to their gift. Hell we have three songs that spell that out but we see it with the characters who don't get a song about them. Pepe is constantly reminded how the family needs her to be constantly happy or the crops will die. Camio is the jokester and someone who can LITERALLY be anyone they need. But even that has it's limits, he most likely can't copy the gifts of others. Just the appearance and voice. Luisa's entire strong is not being vulnerable or weak. Isabel is counted on to make everything perfect no matter how much she feels like screaming. Her mother can only fix physical pain and illness, but she can't fix emotional or mental health issues. Bruno was scapegoated and treated as a myartr for everything that when wrong to the point he's the Colombian version of Voldemort and Harry Potter. Poor Antonio... I can only imagine how he would have grown up if things were different. Probably would be torn between preventing animals and their families deaths, the greif that goes with it, and helping his family.

These theories are all really good! But personally my favorite is Dolores’s. As a person who’s mom and dad are a cellist and violinist, I love music and it’s really calming to me. I think it’s really nice that Dolores’s room could be a place for her to relax.

I kinda wish you had factored in how Felix and Agustin’s presences would have altered Pepa and Julieta’s rooms. Those ideas might be fine for just them, but I feel Casita would have adjusted the rooms slightly to make life more comfortable for both inhabitants.

I know the door of the Casita has all the family members on it at the end, but I think it's interesting that it's Mirabel's doorknob, though the M also stands for Madrigal. To me, I believe Mirabel's room is the whole Casita, as she brings everyone together. She has a space for herself as well, but her power, so to speak, is her unique vision and connection to the others. So that expresses itself best in the shared living areas. That's how I interpreted the ending, though I do think this interpretation has issues and it would be healthy for Mirabel to have her own room :)

I saw a theory somewhere that the reason Mirabel didn’t get a gift was because she wiped her hands on her dress after she touched the candle (in the scene where she’s about to open her door). Therefore, it was like she just rubbed the magic away and if she didn’t do that she would’ve gotten a gift. Furthermore, remember how casita didn’t let those two little kids go upstairs and touch Antonio’s room? Maybe if they touched it without touching the candle or not being a madrigal it could’ve disappeared just like Mirabel’s did. Just a theory though

Yes the gifts are based behind their personalities, some of their gifts are also connected to nature (Antonio - animals, Pepa - Weather. Isabella - Flowers) Much like Elsa from Frozen. Doloris does have some sensitivity side effects to her hearing like during Antonio’s gift ceremony, she covered her ears

Finally someone said that! I see a lot of people saying that his room is all mirrors, and honestly this seems a little scary for a 15-year-old who probably has some identity crises... Just as Dolores deserves a soundproof room to escape so much noise or Isabela who, in her music, showed that she prefers a room with different plants than something "perfect", Camilo deserves a room where he can escape reality and just be Camilo, _a simple 15 year old boy_ who loves his family and still has a lot to discover in himself. Books seem like a good thing for this and it's good for his imagination and characters/transformations (Of course mirrors also make sense, I'm not saying he can't see himself because he needs to remember his own image and have confidence, but a room *made* of them just looks incomplete. Anyway it's just my opinion :))

I imagine Mirabel’s room as a sort of place where she can express her crafts due to how creative she is. Where it’s filled with colorful and vibrant murals of her and her family and other random doodles. There would also be rows of fabrics and cloth as well as shelves filled with lots of different art supplies. As well as other things. But would mostly resemble an art studio in my opinion.

I have the head canon that the miracle needs a physical tie to the world. It came in the candle to Abuela Alma, but it was tied to Alma by her love for Pedro. The magic knew Abuela isnt going to live forever, knew the family was becoming side tracked or lost on the path they needed to be on, and the house needed to figure out who was going to be its next physical tie to the world. When Mirabel touched her door, the magic recognized that she had the leadership qualities the family needed. She didnt get a power, because the seed and bond of the miracle was put inside her. I think that the family, moving forward, is always going to have 1 person who isnt magical, like Alma and Mirabel, because it needs them as the physical tie to keep the magic in the world, and that those people are the ones who will end up being the heads or leaders of the family moving forward.

Mirabel rubbed casita's magic on herself instead of the door knob as shown during her gift ceremony... her mood affected the magic... when she was sad because she was not in the family portrait the house cracked... when she was happy with isabella the cracks were mended, when she was nervous at the family dinner it cracked again, and when abjuela blamed her for breaking the magic the house was broken because she felt broken

I love that you’re doing this! My son and I watched last night and agreed that more of this is what was missing from Encanto. More of the gifts and quirks of the characters that make the Madrigals special without or without magic (less frenetic choreography and flashback). I think the front door being Mirebel’s signifies that Casita is her “room.” She understands the miracle better than all of them so is the new matriarch, the biggest gift and biggest responsibility of all.

Not gonna lie, my theory is that the casita itself IS mirabel’s “room” or so- I thought of this based of the theory that mirabel’s power is actually hope, because when the madrigals lost hope, she was there to restore it and strengthen it. Remember when she held the door knob to the new casita it has her initials? Well then it most probably means that the house and the family and the madrigals in whole, Is mirabel’s power reflected. (And yes ik m also means the madrigals family, but it strengthen my theory more cus, Mirabel’s is the hope for the Madrigals and without her, madrigals family and the casita itself would be able to sustain itself) I really like this theory but feel free to tell me if u don’t agree with it or if there’s anything to add ^^❤️

Maybe, since Camilo's persona constantly changes, the vastness of his room may *also change.* Like, maybe the mirrors change!! Ex: When he knows he needs to calm down, the room gets calm and things that make him think "comfy". Like light blue and neon signs and water beds! Maybe she had a giant space as a kid but once she married, it turned into a room for both her and Felix to be comfortable. I like your ideas and I'm of a similar mind but you based your ideas completely on the idea that the rooms have to have a big space because ✨magic✨ when that might not be the case, especially for Pepa and Julieta because they are married. The rooms might have become normal bedrooms to accommodate both couples. Though I am currently obsessed with the idea that when Alma dies, her door changes to feature Mirabel because that's the specific Matriarch room.

Mirabel always had her powers. Her power's were Empathy, which was tied to the house. Mirabel's door was never supposed to be IN the house (which is why it disappeared during her ceremony.) her door WAS the house. It's kind of hard to notice, because the other Madrigals relied on their own powers; however, Casita really only took commands from Mirabel. When the house was collapsing and Isabella AND Camillo tried to get to the candle... Casita only helped Mirabel. When Mirabel was feeling extreme emotions insecurity, anger, loneliness, or anxious.. THAT'S when the house would crack. The house didn't completely get destroyed until Mirabel reached her breaking point and yelled at Abuela. I think Mirabel's "gift" was her empathy for her family. Her empathy was so strong that once she was unable to connect with them anymore the foundation of the house was destroyed. Her outfit design is literally the house.
