Varian’s REJECTED Tangled Spinoff Explained!

“Varian and The Seven Kingdoms” was a proposed Tangled The Series spinoff that we unfortunately never got to see come to fruition. Based on the creative ideas of two storyboard artists that worked on Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, this comic series was going to tell the story of how Varian left Corona, went on a journey to unlock the secrets of alchemy and finally meet his mother Ulla.

Me: * started watching the show because I saw Ready As I’ll Ever Be and thought Varian was cool and wanted to see more of him, and then continued to watch the show only for the Varian and Cassandra content and never once cared about Raps or a single other character * Does Disney not realize Varian and Cassandra carried the whole show? The leaving Corona conclusion for Cass doesn't make sense to me, especially after she journeyed from the dark Kingdom during 3 years. I can't imagine her happy in a weak traumas recovery. Staff would have let go on her trip with her father, or with Stalyan recovering her father. Cass can find some inner peace in Vardaros, with people who won't judge her.

I feel like Lord Demanitus was Varian’s ancestor from his mothers side. No one said if Demanitus had siblings. It would help explain his connection to science and understanding the moon stone and sun drop. His mothers darkness/disappearing and his fathers knowledge of the moon stone could help explain why his father tried to push Varian away from his science. I would have loved to see this

Disney better accept this project as a spinoff in the future! I need content and the voices/growth of Hugo, Nuru, and Yong! There is a petition to convince Disney to make it officially a spinoff, it's on Caroline Lutz's channel and it's currently at 1K signs. Disney feed the fandom, stop making live action remakes! Plenty of shows I watched feed the fandom and become popular/gain money because of it! Disney just make the series! People will watch it, Varian was mostly the reason most people even watched tangled the series. I don't really care if it's canon to Disney or not, it's canon to me and if anyone wants to see it I plan to incorporate it into my fan series of Varian on my channel called, A Brand New Start/Varian's New Adventures. If Disney ever does finally accept the Vat7k idea and wants to make it spinoff, hopefully it's be around the time Kait and Anna are free to work on it again. Sorry for the rant, I'm just mad at Disney for throwing away a perfect opportunity for a show/to get money(since that's what Disney wants nowadays).

Maybe if they see how much fans wanted to see this series happened, they might reconsider their decision and call Kait and Anna about it when they're available. I know about the petition, but I think they should also see the social media to see how excited the fans are about the idea. If it were up to me, I would keep an eye on social media and fandoms to get some ideas on how to keep bringing them in, including a change in merchandise and a slight change of script. I mean seriously, they could've made a lot more money with Varian plush, action figures, and Funko Pop figures while the Tangled series' still on air. Just saying.

After just finishing "Tangled: the Series," which I enjoyed, I'd be up for seeing this Varian spinoff. The show's staff came up some fascinating ideas for it, like exploring Varian's extended family, learning more about the seven kingdoms, and the new characters. Also, Disney+ could use some more original animated content, and this series would be perfect for that.

it’s so funny to me that disney thinks that vat7k wouldn’t sell well and people wouldn’t want to watch it. varian is clearly the fan favorite and even if he isn’t someone’s favorite character, he’s still an adorable and loveable character who’s story should he explored further! i personally love every idea that was brought forward for vat7k and i’m obsessed with it even though it doesn’t technically exist, and i’m sure so many rta fans would agree! it sucks that disney doesn’t know their fans well enough to understand how well this series would do! ugh i hate that this was rejected. still mad about it even though this was many many years ago.

Not gonna lie Varian's the reason why I watched Tangled the series and enjoyed it. I mainly watched it cause of him and suffered a gold whole series basically with out him...but put that aside. I feel like Disney should listen more to there fans. They have cancelled and declined alot of amazing shows or ideas that could have been outstanding or were outstanding but forced to end early. I'll admit it id die to see Varian have a spin off. I love jermeys voice acting for him. His sing ia outstanding (id love hear him sing more disney songs but most songs he does are all musicals which never been huge fan of besides Tangled and Death note besides the point). Im always coming back and rewatching this show still fan girl like a dork as well as picking up new things I may have missed. I can see and picture alot of different adventures and challanges they could face if they did this spin off. And how exciting it would be if they pulles it off. I bet it be a big hit alot of people I know love drawing ideas of this show in their own designs. So I'm certains theirs plenty of people who look forward to it. Shoot even a cassandra spin off would be nice. Being able to see her out on her adventures...shoo maybe even have her meet up and run into the others and eventually maybe get convinced to tag along...but who knows. I will say I did enjoy ready the comic people have made hope they continue and make more hate to see it unfinished but ill manage with what I got

This is really just a wasted opportunity, they had so many options and so much potential that they threw away with this. Varian already has a pretty dedicated following from the Tangled series fandom. But if they marketed right they could minimize the connection with Tangled so it got the befit of a new show. That way he would have the best of both worlds. Then also the fact they have Disney Plus now or could just do a comic makes it so much cheaper to do. Not to mention it would have been off the heels of Tangled getting so many awards and applause. Even if you wanted to include Raps you could have had her act as a distant mentor via letters or have him use his connections with her in the story. Like having the nobles of a castle hearing about the brave princess Rapunzel's friend coming for a visit, it could be a whole side plot. I am not even a Varian fan but I see the potential, he is an enjoyable character who at the surface level seems like a risk but if you think more about it's oozing potential. Varian stood out in the Tangled line up as someone who could have been an MC in his own story, being pretty marketable, and with a stand out personality, theme design, along with Jeremy as his VA he gives the impression he could run a story. Really disappointed Disney turned it down, hope they may backtrack a bit if it gets attention and make it at least a comic or something I would totally watch/buy it. On a side note maybe that is why Varian isn't at Rapzuel's wedding, if Varian is aged up in this maybe he left before the wedding took place. So he is out adventuring like Cass when the wedding happened.

They both have an story that was left open for possible continuation. Seeing how Varian became this brilliant engineer sounds interesting. Seeing how Cassandra overcomes her her internal grief from what she’s done, her mother, and all the strife she’s endured while trying to find her place in the world makes for a compelling story as well. Whether you like Cass or not she has a interesting story that could be told, just like varian. So I believe both should have spin-offs.

I have been wanting Varian to have his own show since the BEGINNING, he was my favorite character from the very start!
