You know they have them in the US and UK too. AI "The presence of Chinese "police service stations" in both the UK and the US has been a subject of controversy and investigation. These stations are officially described by China as administrative hubs to assist Chinese citizens abroad with tasks such as renewing driver's licenses. However, allegations suggest they are also used for monitoring, harassing, and coercing Chinese nationals living abroad, particularly those critical of the Chinese government."

Not once have I ever felt unsafe in Thailand. Thailand does not need to have Chinese police anywhere in Thailand. If Chinese citizens do not feel safe they should go somewhere else.

Yeah, I felt terrified when my time was up in Thailand and I had to return to Australia, very scary prospect of returning to a violent country that's been plunged into a woke financial mess Also please note 2 Chinese prostitutes were killed in their own apartments recently in Melbourne Australia, I don't recall any push for Chinese police or boycotting of Australia for tourism Anyway, they don't make great tourists, the numbers can be impressive, but when it's all said and done there's is little to no financial gain for the local economy when they are in town, Chinese tour operators, Chinese hotels, Chinese restaurants etc etc

Ridiculous. No matter what your race or country of origin, if one travels to another country you take your chances with regards to safety. If the Chinese are so worried, they should learn how to contact the Thai police like every other visitor. Surprised Thailand is considering this?! So absurd and fishy.

@warntheidiotmasses711416 күн бұрын
Suspicious they're pushing for that. Ask most Thai people, Chinese tourists don't spend much money on Thai owned businesses. They are closely corralled around to Chinese owned businesses. Obviously there's ulterior motive for the Chinese powers that be to want to have their police in Thailand. The reason Chinese and Korean tourism is off is due to the weakness in their respective currencies.

In Fiji they started a drug epidemic, using it as a waypoint to Australia & NZ, then used that as justification for having their own cops on show. They busted a scam farm & the next day flew out everyone caught working there- but the guy who's running the waypoint business is still there no problem.

As a woman alone I have been coming to Thailand for nearly 27 years now. I have NEVER felt unsafe. Of course, I don't act obnoxious, get in fights with locals or get hammered and start acting like a jerk, but I have been all over this beautiful country ALONE and occasionally with hubby or a friend - narry a problem ever. I mean, I am sitting here wracking my brain to come up with SOMETHING or some time when I felt unsafe ... nope. Sounds to me like the CCP propaganda machine has rolled out some fake news -or conflated news, or out-of-context news - in order to sway the populous and thus attempt to achieve colonial-type access to a perceived Golden Goose (Thailand). Most governments, we are coming to find out, lie through their teeth. In that regard, China/CCP is the "gold standard". If they say it, it's probably 180° opposite.

Absolutely it will Assuage the fears of some! Primarily the fears of some feeling pressure from Beijing to expand the revolution, while striking fear in the hearts of those who remember what life under Chinese rule In much of S.E. Asia was like. Now that my original comment is back, I'd like to add some additional thoughts: Having spent a fair amount of time in China and Thailand, nearly marrying into a Thai family who held deep sentiments and fears of Communism, and later nearly marrying into a Chinese family with deep ties to the PLA and CCP who hold a deep distrust and disgust of the communist regime in Beijing, the strong warnings they had for Americans not to trust the regime I'm sure they would tell Thais to not allow any agents of the regime on their soil, and I am gobsmacked that Thais at large would not oppose this with alarm.

I have never felt unsafe in Thailand and in Bangkok I walked many back streets and actually find more friendly Thai people who I actually befriended, I started coming to Thailand in April 2015 and was almost immediately convinced great place to be. I would in the present time say china is probably not such a safe destination. I now have a Thai wife and that is definitely the best decision I made. My wife actually worked in Bangkok in one of the big shopping malls and she would say that the Chinese were not big spenders.
