The Ismaya 2 is one that I always use as a sparkly and shimmer palette. When I want to amp up my eyeshadow look, I sometimes take the shimmers and sheer them out as toppers. I bought the new Danessa Myricks palette and with that I think I will have all the special shimmer shades I need for my makeup style.

@ someone compared both, but I forgot who. But I think they both save the same purpose as special shades palettes. I hope you love the Danessa palette! 🧡 I can’t compare them myself because my Danessa palette still hasn’t shipped! They did say on the email to expect longer shipping times because of high demand. 😟

Over time, I realized the metallics in SG are really emollient and because of that they don’t last as long on my lids. They don’t really do any interesting color stories.

My favourite shimmer/glitter is the CANMAKE Jewelry Shadow Veil in Ballerina Beige. It’s sparkly without any ‘base’ shadow colour .. so beautiful! 🥹

I have that sigma palette too and I would not repurchase it. I had vowed no more sigma but I saw some newer 9 pan palettes in TJ maxx recently and picked them up and to my surprise they are great! Much improved from Untamed and Enchanted. Fun video. Thanks for the escape/distraction. 😟

I don’t buy NARS, but that palette is so pretty. The Home Alone NYX palette reminded me of it, of course not as good formula or spot on color dupe, but similar vibes.

I think people like Sydney Grace metallics because they are forgiving on aging lids, but they aren’t my favourite formula either.

@@QueerBones lol just what I’ve heard! I’m not at the point where I’m dealing with aging eyelids so I can’t give an opinion, but that seems to be a comment I often see. But I agree, they are on the thicker side.

The star palette from UD looks like cheap indie palette packaging. 😂It looks like they released the same colors or close to the same as last year so I passed on them.

Oh, I still love the velvet dusk. It was my first purchase from them. And my starting point into make up, too again after a break since the early 2000s. Their quality is better imo now. But I will only buy the palettes/ singles which are produced in Germany.

I loooove Sydney Grace mattes, but I hate thick metallics for the same reason to you. I also dislike the Sigma Untamed packaging for that reason. Most fabric makeup packaging gives me the 'ick' tbh. I have both last year's Moondust palettes, and I love them. I wanted this year's quad, but I cannot find it here - only a purple packaging quad version of the star shaped palette. It's on BeautyBay and Notino, if you wanted that one but hated the packaging. Wildstar keeps tempting me, but the packaging really puts me off for a weird reason - when I was 5 years old, our science teacher conducted an assembly and held out a taxidermy rat with red glass eyes a few inches from my face and said it had died during the plague. Love the tackines, hate the rat carcass memories!

Do you find that you use your Isamaya Cowboy palette more than 2.0? 2.0 is the one that got away for me. Hoping she brings it back.

I think I use 2.0 more to grab a random shade but for a whole look I use cowboy more. Overall prob 2.0 more though.

Texture is so important! It’s part of why I started, I didn’t see enough olive skin tones around mine so shade matching was difficult and I didn’t see enough talk about texture and how important it is
