Yup.. I've been an animal activist, with wolves being a big one, for most of my life. I grew up with a wolf/shepherd by my side. Wolves have huge targets on them.. have had for yrs and, unfortunately, it's only getting worse. To those who think these wolves (or any that are being treated good in captivity/sanctuaries), need to be released or would be better off.. please take your time to call & sign petitions to end the hatred & horrific hunting of those still in the wild. They need your voice.

Thank you for supporting James and his “pack”. And thank you for spreading awareness about the hunting of animals in general. We saw pictures on Facebook from a woman who had killed a giant wolf and proudly smiling posed with his lifeless body like she had done something magnificent. That’s just sick! My wife gave her a comment and she was highly offended. But we don’t care, the truth may be told. And, like you, we think that James is doing a great job there. These wolves were also born in captivity as far as I know, so they wouldn’t stand a chance in the wild. So what better than a James who takes care of them with all the love in his heart and giving them the best life possible?!
@berthamckechnie80644 ай бұрын
Until or unless people recognize the place of wolves in our world, they must be protected in sanctuaries like the one where James AKA Liondad is working with them, as they would be hunted to extinction as would many other animals in the world, many of whom are already on endangered lists all over the planet!
@CaptainBinkie4 ай бұрын
@@berthamckechnie8064 it’s a shame that you are so right about that. When will people learn? We live in the Netherlands and wolves were here in history but disappeared in time. Now a few of them have returned and some of them are already killed, shot with a rifle and run over by a car. A minority group of people is advocating for hunting them down even though that’s against the law here. But since those crimes are so “hard to prove”, the criminals go free. I have problems accepting that. And I have problems accepting that punishment for crimes against animals are not nearly as hard as against humans. I believe that legal equation of those felonies would help a lot, as well as spending the same amount of energy and assets on investigating crimes against animals as they do with crimes against humans. We live in a wonderful and beautiful world but there’s one real monster in this world; humans…..

The state will cause problems either way. That is the nature of the state.
@barbarahill91765 ай бұрын
There absolutely does. It's a hard fight...even for dedicated wolf advocacy coalitions, as the livestock ranchers and hunters groups wield a lot of power and influence over state wildlife departments. James is right - the state wolf hunts (WI, ID, +++) are real, and are devastating. Also, livestock owners often won't take preventive measures to protect cattle, and (our) state wildlife dept. has returned frequently to the same location to kill "offending" wolves. Sometimes wolves are purposely baited, for the purpose targeting them. There are also problems in WA with bears and cougars being baited & aggressively hunted to unsustainable population levels by predator trophy hunters.

Not only are there dangers to wild wolves (like hunting and poaching), but if they live in captivity all their lives, there are laws against releasing them into the wild, for their own protection. I have been a huge supporter of The International Wolf Center and their ambassador wolves, although now as a retired person I can’t give much money at all. It is important that we take time to see what is really happening with our wild animals, learn unfortunately that money talks, and those groups often have their own agenda, and it certainly does NOT include finding ways to save these animals!

7 dog team, in Alaska....half Wolf, half Malemute. Ran 168 mile trapline, off the Yukon River with these hybrids. My dogs were tough and the land was tougher, but together, as one big team, we made a living and supported each other in every way. I am sorry that so many have not had much life experience. A connection to nature, not just taking all you can, but finding a balance in your surroundings and blending in harmony. My dog/wolves took me to a very old, female Lynx, that was in my fox trap. We looked eye to eye, while the dogs stood in silence and I told her that she would provide for my offspring. She too was silent as the moment was being recorded in our hearts. And as I loved her....and she loved me and I understood it was OK. I released her from her body with my pinknife in her ear, as I straddled her shoulders and she was gone in a moment. She was the 1983 worlds largest Lynx, she sold to a furrier in Russia. Now, that was a taste of the wilderness........Oh and I swam the Yukon and killed a Grizzly bear that was hunting me.....Thank you so much, as the divine emissary you are, for these graceful beings......and when you are questioned, as I have been about your motives, you have not far to look, as the answer will always be in your heart. I hope you enjoyed my story. Thanks for what you do.
