I believe I understand the point the UK is trying to make. Imagine a situation where a close family member is accused of a crime, with evidence gathered by the police strongly indicating their guilt. This is an entirely nonsensical comparison since A) there is an abundance of proof for this "crime" (to adapt your analogy, it's as if you have video footage of that family member going 'I will now commit this crime' directly into the camera, then committing it, also on camera, and you still go "mmmh I'm not sure if I can believe you they really did that") and B) it's ridiculous to compare the relationship between states to an interpersonal relationship like the one between family members. First off, the UK would NEVER arrest Netanyahu. Starmer already qualified his comment by saying "it would be down to a domestic court to approve the warrant and then up to police to arrest Netanyahu" so undoubtedly the British government would exert so much pressure on the domestic court if not saying the domestic court has no jurisdiction on international law/warrant to approve the ICC arrest warrant.
