luke losing to Paul? Hell naw man. The force can absolutely go through his armor. The reasons force people don't just snap people necks in star wars is midichlorians stop you form doing that. We literally see vadar snap someone's neck with the force in the obiwan show. It's just really hard to do that to someone with midichlorians. If you want to make the arguement that the shield wouldn't let the force through... THE FORCE IS EVERYWHERE. It doesn't have to travel through the shield. Not to mention the fact that Luke does not have a problem with using the Force to kill someone if he feels like it's necessary. That, and any fight between the two of them where Paul has the shield is going to end in both of them dyeing because of the shield. Like, the reason everyone uses swords and knives and shit when they're fighting other people wearing a shield is that the shields *really* don't like lasers or plasma. When either a laser or plasma blast hits one of the shields, it makes a very, very big boom. So, if Luke even hits Paul with his lightsaber, they're both going to die because Paul's shield is just going to immediately explode and kill both of them.

Not to mention EU Luke's Force powers are far greater then Rouga downplays them to be. It amplifies many of his combat stances already and this is a guy who went head to head with Abeloth alongside Darth Krayt despite Abeloth being 12 times more powerful then him and held his ground. Downplaying that and claiming Paul is better is not sensible to me at all plus Luke is incredible tenacious and is resistance to mind manipulations with the Force from Sith Lords. The Bene Gesserit have nothing on Palpatine.

Vader was able to force choke an imperial officer who was on a different star destroyer during casual conversation, no hand waving or significant strain needed. That went through all the physical armor and hull of both ships as well as their energy shields over god knows how much distance, and that's just from the original trilogy. I think Luke wouldn't have much trouble here, and it wouldn't matter if Paul could see it coming.

One thing you didn’t consider with Luke vs Paul in a straight fight since Paul is a non force user he could simply just hold him in place with the force and then slowly stab him with his light saber. He could lock his jaw with the force so he couldn’t speak.

Paul Astreides Prescience in the narrative of the setting of Dune though isn't omniscience. It was written that is it like looking a valley the valley with varies timelines but you don't see everything outside the valley. Prescience is a limited kind of foresight it doesn't make you all knowing.

Luke has Shatterpoint that at it's most powerful Luke can open up/exploit any and all previous wounds that person has had that are not completely healed from or not a missing limb. We have seen Mace Windu use it to crush Grevious's lungs inside his chasis and also to punch and shatter hundreds of droids with his bare fists. We don't know if Luke can do this though. Mace Windu might just be a mother fucker. Shatterpoint can also locate weak points in shields and structures and simply break them. It can crush/close a person's throat or trigger seizures, paralysis, and convulsions with just a wave of Luke's hand. Shatterpoint is combined with other force abilities like force crush to even break beskar.

A quick few thing about paul vs luke. Dune shields can be overwhelmed by superior force but its such a high level.. its just never brought up. In order for luke to overwhelm the shields, hed need to be slamming multiple star destroyers onto paul. The voice actually does have a will component.. its just very hard to resist. It requires will on the levels of paul, or leto II in order to not be hit with the voice. This is one reason why the reverend mother didnt just use the voice to get paul to suicide himself. There is one other thing. Shields are very environmentally dependent. If the fight is on arrakis and not at the poles, then paul cant use the shields, since that'll lead a bunch of sandworms to try and munch on his ass. The other thing is... blasters. If star wars blasters shoot lasers with similar physics properties to dune lasers.. then a shield becomes a big suicide weapon. Lasers and shields produce nuclear explosions in the dune franchise

THANKY YOU. i've had that same argument before about sephiroth with people. i'm so tired of people being like 'he can destroy solar systems at a whim. NO HE CAN'T. realistically, i think the best way to consider it is that it's a 'cinematic attack', that it's a powerful attack, but the game plays a cool cinematic because it has a cool name, not because it's literally a supernova. if sephiroth could cause the sun to go supernova he'd have actually done that to destroy the planet. realistically, it's probably just a big materia energy blast that he gave a fancy name, which is consistent with it's damage. the summon argument i understand but also somewhat dispute. yes, i fully accept that cloud is stronger than his summons, as that is well and truly established. but what capabilities the summons are attributed with is kind of BS. like, 'this summon can turn a planet to ash'. oh really, when exactly DID he turn a planet to ash, and how do we know about it? i mean, the plane they are standing on is still there, so it can't have been THIS planet. it's the same argument, where to me it feels like it's more folklore stories way overemphasizing the summons power levels, than actual evidential assessments of their accomplishments, and that when the summons are used in game it's for cinematic effect, they aren't actually doing whatever world ending BS is on screen. i mean, for cloud to have proven his strength to ifrit, it would be assumed that when they fought ifrit would have attempted to use the 'planet ending' attack on cloud, and once again, the planet is still here, so clearly that attack isn't actually planet ending.

Reasearching info on Drifters is way more easier than Lastman BTW. To not make it doubled with Richard Aldana, the whole main cast of Drifters may be thrown into RE-0 world

Thank you so much for having Legend of Dragoon in this. It had a great story and a great combat engine. It wasn't just jrpg it had this whole timed hits system with dozens of combos off of it, plus it was one of the few games where blocking was something you had to do. So good. Did anyone play Baten Kaitos or Baten Kaitos origins. Similarly these games had awesome stories and cool variations on normal combat systems.

I am not certain about some of your statements about multiversal durability vs galaxy tier strikes that's something that doesn't sound like common sense to me though I do not support Cloud being multiversal at all. However I have to disagree on the Luke Skywalker section of this video. The Expanded Universe version of Luke is too skilled and has varies defenses and techniques I don't see Dune book Paul wining. Book Paul isn't omniscient even he says it himself that prescience has it's limits and it's like looking through a valley but seeing nothing outside that valley. Even his Son Leto II who becomes the God Emperor tyrant admits it is not all seeing and what he is seeing are pretty much a set amount of limited amount of subjective timelines at a time he views, he even actively wanted people in the Dune Imperium to develop ways and technologies to escape his prescience vision. Not that it is going to do much good against a heavily potent Force wielder in direct combat. Splash damage and all the other hacks the Force provides Expanded Universe Luke including their own defenses and offenses including speed. EvanNova95 is a old Expanded Universe lore channel and a versus channel and he has plenty of videos covering Luke's various abilities that are far superior to Paul physically on every fundamental level. And he has the researched sources and passages to prove his claims and the stats of Luke the strongest Jedi Master to live. EvanNova doesn't take things out of context like those who try to claim the Force is outerversal or something. Nothing incoherent like that. He's a sensible and reasonable knowledgeable guy who is nice to listen too. Book Paul's abilities aren't objectively going to last in a direct engagement they just are not.

However, it works by manipulating the force that's everywhere in the galaxy, meaning it technically is already inside Paul's shield. I think Luke would be okay with Paul's barrier because the Force isn't physical. Vader can choke someone just by seeing them in a streaming call, Luke could choke Paul through the barrier. Not sure if he'd win the fight, but the barrier wouldn't stop the Force. Would the barrier be able to stop a Lightsaber? Also, unclear because it's a plasma blade and hot as a star. The weapons in Dune are not of that magnitude. Also, Ratchet feels like a bigger version of Daxter with stripes. I could see a timeline that mutates Daxter into Ratchet for bigger adventures.

OK so I think there's one force power that's pretty much a checkmate for Luke... I don't see how Paul could resist it, and well it even prevents him from using the whole Voice thing since it's pretty hard to speak while you're getting Force Chocked... the only problem is, would Luke ever use such a blatantly Dark Side power? There's a few other things like using force to levitate a whole bunch of spears from different angles and moving them slowly enough to go through the shield all at the same time... I've no idea how the shield would react against Force Lightning, using Force Push/Pull to fuck with positioning or just yeeting him off a high surface or some shit... unfortunately all of things runs into the whole issue of that's using the Force for offense which is the Dark Side. I'm pretty sure that EU Luke is a bit more relaxed about the Dark Side, seeing it as part of the Force rather than the dogmatic approach of the Jedi... but I don't know if it's to the extent needed to use it in ways he would need to to win this fight.

I was surprised to see jak and daxter. As a fan of that series, I would agree that ratchet and clank would definitely win. It’s a little disappointing how one sided it is, assuming both are at their best. The one advantage in my mind for jak is that if he has a good supply of eco, he can turn giant and become invincible with dark eco, albeit for a limited time, and can heal himself would weapons or gadgets. He if he has the eco, he can do that whenever. But it just pales in comparison to what ratchet can do

Im absolutely Biased when it comes to Jak and Daxter; Playing everything Up to Jak X (didnt play daxter OR lost frontier) . . . Jak & Daxter is going to lose against ratchet & clank. In J&D 2, they did everything first before Ratchet & clank could, but by the time they stopped doing everything, restructured the game and basically killed the momentum for what Jak could do, Ratchet & clank just got more and more ridiculous as to what they could do. Example, that thing with the light that turned everything to ash that R&C could do, Jak did it first with the "super nova" which was just a mini nuke that eviscerated all life within the immediate area you inhabited within a specific meter radius (how far, idk, they were never specific, but as soon as the mushroom is gone, the people come back). The previous strongest weapon ratchet and clank had was the RIP YA A NEW ONE 2 (RYNO2, I kid you not, thats what RYNO stands for) which was just a heavy duty Fully automatically Rocket launcher, which was devistating, but not anywhere as crazy as the super nova. Then R&C 3 came out and everything was either turning enemies to ash or swallowing then in a black hole. . .

It you like i can break thia down for you as Ratchet and Jak have qutie a few games. Hell in the 4th installments for their games, Jak X and Ratchet: Deadlock( Gladiator for you UK folks), had Both Ratchet and Jak as guest characters in their online/multiplayer modes. There is like 7 or 8 different versions of the R.Y.N.O. plus there was the Zodiak in Going Commandoby far the Rynocerator is the most powerful incarnation of the line as it produces a mini Supernova to fry everything then you have the Zodiak that just electrocutes everything in the area. You have Jak with his gun and its 4 fire modes. The peacemaker being the biggest and the hardest hitting shot. Jak also has the time clap. It always boils down to this over all the years Jak vs Ratchet has been a thing even before that crappy yet fun PS Move game came out, Can Jak do his Time Clap for a a Dio Brando level time stop and freeze Ratchet before Ratchet can pull the trigger for the Rynocerator? Also if Jak can beat ratchet can Jak clear the blast range before he gets toasted?

That’s not due to force. It’s a reaction the shield has to a specific type of energy. Luke doesn’t have that energy type so it’s not relevant.

Just a heads up Force users can and do ise their Force on people with both armor and shields. Vader is the most common but others have both in Legends and in Disneys bastardized Canon. It's usually just that they prefer to use sabers and Jedi just prefer not to use the force like that. One of the reasons it doesn't happen often between Force users is because you can use the Force to protect yourself from the influence of others. That's part of why Vader and Obi Wan fought the way they did, most of their battle was invisible as they pushed against each others Force.

Would the Paul shield even stop lightsabers? because you know..... LIGHT...saber? And they're also pretty hot I'd recon so if he'd somehow get it close enough that may cause burns (not as certain on that one but maybe) Otherwise, would the shield protect Paul if Luke just lifted a big rock and dropped it on him directly? Finally, powerful strength users tend to have some degree of super enhanced reflexes and minor prediction of events, so that could perhaps jam with Paul ability to see all futures. All of these are big "perhaps" because I'm not enough knowledgeable on dune technology and how it might hypothetically interact with the sci fi technology/powers of a different world, but theses points are still somewhat relevant I believe.
