There's this one character in cyberpunk called Morgan black hand who is basically the polar opposite of Adam smasher, being basically completely human except for like a robotic arm and he is the most successful character in the game in terms of being a mercenary. So hit man who is basically the same thing but better would do fine probably. And 47s superiority is less to do with his body and more so his intelligence.
@rougarabid2 күн бұрын
False. Morgan Black hand was successful back in 2020. 57 years before 2077 takes place. At that point in the timeline the technology was nowhere near where it is currently Adam smasher was considered extremely modified and was still mostly human. Currently in the timeline, the most modified people are more machine than man which was not the case in 2020. It is not possible for a human without modifications to compete with someone like Adam smasher who can literally take on whole armies by himself.

I think RoboCop is going to do WAY better than you think, but then he’s going to do WAY worse than you think. The cops are going to look at this dude, see that he’s already 95% cybernetic, and upgrade him to join MaxTac. He’s going to be the next Adam Smasher. He’s going to go insane though. They don’t have the same cognitive dampening systems that the RoboCop universe has. He’s going to become a major cyber psycho and have to be taken down
@rougarabid2 күн бұрын
They have no reason to. Cyberpunk already has AI machines and extremely loyal cyberneticly enhanced soldiers. Robocop isn’t loyal to them and his Cybernetics are really shitty. They have no reason to upgrade him when any AI controlled mech they have is more powerful and effective. Also your theory that the organization who has a specialty of taking down Cyberpsychos is gonna create a cyberpsycho is a strange one.
@falcongamingproductions99382 күн бұрын
I don't think he'd go psycho tbh. Cyberpsychosis is sort of an enigma in the cyberpunk universe, but a big theory is that it has less to do with the actual cybernetics and more to do with the person. Basically, everyone in Night City, for instance, is probably traumatized to some extent, and usually if you're chroming up, it's because you're gonna be going head first into serious danger. So you get chromed up, but then you go through some serious shit. You mess up missions, you watch your friends die, you almost die yourself multiple times, etc. So you start losing your mind. PSTD, paranoia, even regular psychosis. Bad enough as they are, you also happen to be a walking tank, so you're extra dangerous. That theory makes the most sense to me, unless it turns out to be something with the black wall AI. If that's the case, well, Robocop has been through it yet he's stuck to his code time and time again. I don't think getting put into a new universe would change that. I also don't think he'd end up in MaxTac though. His tech doesn't seem that advanced compared to the tech that even regular civilians can access in night city. He might have aimbot, but NC is already full of guns that are built with aimbot, all you need is a little hand implant. He's tanky, yeah, but almost everyone has access to very powerful guns, hell even railguns and stuff. I could see him being a regular cop though

You clearly haven't played Robocop Rouge City. He has a dash move. He has a sandy-like move in the game. Where he can stop time and kill his targets in slow motion for a couple of seconds. He has a punch that instant kill enemies in the game (even kill-punch enemies off one on a 100mph motorcycle) He can toss enemies like ragdolls and can even throw them off of a 20 story building. He has a Electric Shockwave that kills all nearby enemies. He can equip other weapons in the game like the Rifle the bad guys used in the first movie. Also he has an upgrade where small guns like 9mm pistol can ricochet to other enemies. He can also upgrade his iconic weapon in the game to do more damage, faster bullet speed, faster reload and more with OCP weapon boards you find in the game. So robocop can do excellent in Cyberpunk thanks to Rouge City. Also the game is canon because it takes place during the first and second movie but before the 3rd film.

I think 47 could do alright tbh, if he survives his initial adaption period. I don't think he'd become a solo though, he'd probably just become a hit man. We know that hitmen exist because of the Phantom Liberty DLC, where, LIGHT SPOILER, you disguise yourself as a cuban hitman. While that hitman isn't actually in Night City, they still hold influence there. This comment is already long winded as fuck, basically I think, if he can survive for a while, he might end up becoming a hitman for a group like Netwatch maybe even NightCorp or something. Considering how he adapts to different situations in his own games very fast, I imagine he'd get the hang of the new cyberware and weapons and stuff. Once he does that, I imagine he'd have decent success as a hitman. He's already got many years of experience doing that kind of thing in many different places, plus he's a damn genius, so yeah that's my Ted Talk I guess, thanks

17:48 I think Agent 47 would make a comfortable home for himself in Night City, all his skills could be applied very well in the solo life. Planting evidence is safer than slipping poison into someone's drink, assassinations are his specialty and once his sheer skill is known he'll likely be a popular contact. Morgan Blackhand was/is a solo with no cybernetics that trusted his old school .45 handgun more than any railgun pistol or smart gun. A legend of Night City, and his only chrome is a cybernetic arm. Agent 47 could easily end up working for a corp or taking on high priority assassinations from certain fixers getting paid by corps or gang leaders to find a problem solver. Also, being real, even a couple successful low level jobs are enough for him to get a cheap cyberdeck and expand his assassination/stealth potential, snowball effect from there until he runs into V or Adam Smasher or someone like that, but that's unlikely.

During the end of the 20th century, Asia (especially Japan) had immense economic growth just from their industrial production. They were known to produce quality products, especially with electronics and automotives (think of who made all of our TVs). This led to sci-fi writers at the time to predict Japan becoming a global superpower just off economic might. This is shown best in Blade runner and Alien. This went on to become a staple of the genre, and is most present in settings originally from before the 2000s.

I'm not looking through all the comments to see if somebody already typed this: You have to remember when cyberpunk as a genre took hold. At the time in the '80s the rise of corporism was very much linked with the fact that the first emerging major conglomerates, particularly in The tech sector, or Asian corporations. This isn't just a genre thing, you can actually see if you go back and look at '80s politics and news, what a big deal this was. I remember my papa having a shirt that said "who really won the war" with a picture of a (undoubtedly now considered racist) caricature of a Japanese pilot dropping bombs on America that had the word "imports" on them. The vibe at the time was very much that Japanese corporations were at the forefront of the new corporate control economies. As it turns out, like with most things, there was both truth and irrational reaction in that fear, as corporism certainly has become a major issue, though it's not as directly linked to East Asian economics as speculative '80s fiction would have guessed.

One thing in Cyberpunk 2077 that I love is how Johnny and V's desparation to get ahead in life can influence your actions unconsciously. Spoilers: For example, the Voodoo Boys later on into the game are a faction you have to deal with in order to gain access to the Blackwall and find Johnny's ex. Technically, it's considered more moral to let these guys travel to the Blackwall and let them escape. However, I chose to kill all of them, for several reasons. To be fair, it wasn't a smart move, but these bastards had been betraying and selling me out constantly while I was working for them. The only reason they kept V alive is because he was a valuable tool, and wanted him to do all the dirty work so that they could get what they wanted. Usually, I let betrayal slide when there is some kind of reward or understandable motive, but the Voodoo Boys just pissed me off; heck, V is already being controlled by several different forces out of his league. All that happened was that we got some information on where to go next, and then get told to fuck off. It was a freaking wild goose-chase with little pay-off other than what to follow next. So, rather than have another betrayal down the line, I decided the Voodoo Boys had to go. Was it a good call? Hell no, but it felt really satisfying to take them out.

@rougarabid2 күн бұрын
Cyberpunk the genre predates Ghost in the Shell and was created in America by a Canadian American so no that’s not true. Even the Cyberpunk tabletop, Bladerunner and many other Cyberpunk series predate it by several years.
@Phantomcrustacean2 күн бұрын
@@rougarabid Did a quick look, yep you’re right ghost was 9189. In that case, more than likely, the inspiration is just how tech focused Japan is, the game was made around the time people were concerned about Japan taking over the tech sene. I appreciate the response, greatly enjoy your content, I love looking at versus situations and how would they actually work in universe

The Asian rule comes from the fact that back in the 70s and 80s (when cyberpunk was being invented) it was during a time when Japan was feared to take over the us industry because of their electronic and technology boom

I think you underestimate Rubocop. I see him put on MaxTac, and he gets upgraded to be NCPD's Adam Smasher. What would be even cooler is if he puts together his own Untouchables inside the NCPD, and they start cleaning up the NCPD. I'd watch the heck out of that.

This doesn't change any of the reasoning in the video but there are a few minor bits of information that are wrong about the Cyberpunk universe 1. Arasaka did solely control Night city at one point but by 2077 it is controlled by a conglomerate of corporations including Arasaka. 2. The Mox are not affiliated with clouds beyond Judy asking for their help with defending clouds. Clouds =/= Mox.

Yeah people don’t understand how powerful cyberpunk 2077 characters truly are, they can go toe to die with other anime characters easily.

Night City isn't ruled by Arasaka, the same way as Silicon Valley isn't ruled by Microsoft or anything. Arasaka is just the biggest corp in the world, by networth and by firepower, and also the biggest corp in Night City. But Night City was rather "owned" by Night Corp, 'cause it was founded by Richard Night and his corporation, though Arasaka is a major policy maker due to providing major economical value to the city. And since Night City is a free city, not beholden to any nation, they can freely choose (or be suckered into) which corporations they allow on their turf.

Honestly, with all the crazy shit Judge Dredd has beaten before, I would put money on him beating Smasher. Dude has fucked up cosmic beings, and psychic gods. All Smasher got going for him at that point is the Sandi, and he has a limit to how much he can use it.
@rougarabid2 күн бұрын
He has WAY more than the Sandi.

If Robocop can temper himself to the situation, I think he would be sought after. He's has shown that what's left of his brain and withstand "full borg" conversion. He's literally 1980s Adam Smasher. But Smasher is a sick mf who like murder. I see Robo being bought out by Arasaka to be the coin flip of Adam in Arasaka security. Adam is there mission killer, but Alex will be the base defender. He can slowly do what he can to help the little guy with the Corp's resources.

Maybe for a part two, do Gregor Eisenhorn (40k, inquisitor series). Maybe Donald Morgan (Dresden Files) if that wouldn't be too much of a genera shift.
@destructionverse55572 күн бұрын
One thing I didn't hear you bring up is that it's directly stated that the bare minumum weapon that can do damage to robocop is a .50 cal and that even then it takes a lot of it to do anything significant which is why they had to ambush him and he was still able to take them out he's also shown that plasma weapons don't do to much against him and even explosives aren't very effective
@destructionverse55572 күн бұрын
Also that in the second movie he gets a jetpack which makes him way more manuvarable and faster
@rougarabid2 күн бұрын
False. We see regular rifles damage him throughput the series. It’s never stated that “only 50. Cal” can damage him and he took them out without them ever shooting him so him beating them isn’t a feat of durability against their weapons. Even if all that weren’t the case Cyberpunk weapons are significantly stronger than 50. Cals.

My cyberpunk character destroys everyone on this list . I only use a fire sword and I have all the best stuff for speed and survivability . I'm immune to getting hacked . The more heath I loose the faster I heal . And that's just off the top of my head .

It was the assumed japanese takeover during the 80s. Japan was doing extremely well with tech cars and stuff which led to extreme prosperity. People thought they were gonna be the next super power. Didnt happen but yeah. This is a run down version of it though

I can't believe I'm saying this as an Sao hater...Kirito would be ridiculously op in cyberpunk as a netrunner especially if he has access to his ai friends due to him basically having access to rogue ai to defend him all the time....I hate Kirito but it's so stupid how untouchable he would be as a netrunner lol. Its time to fight the urge to throw up at this realization

Isn't Robocop just a human brain in a robot with face skin? And even the brain has been modified? Only one person in Cyberpunk (that I know of) has pulled something like that off without going absolutely insane, and he is a living legend in their world. I think Robocop's immunity (or at least HEAVY RESISTANCE to) cyber-psychosis will immediately make him the most valuable asset for any faction that recruits him and they will sink enough upgrades into him to make him the next Adam Smasher, while Arasaka will do their best to sabotage the process to maintain their lead.
