For the pregnant versus married with 2 kids question I thought of it as a short term lie against long term as well because the married partner might be cheating as well. My first assumption for pregnant would be before your relationship or during a break but that's just one of the many possibilities.

I would be mad if the person I was dating didn’t tell me he was married and had kids. If he got someone pregnant, it’s possible to work out that kind of thing (but not guaranteed.) I can’t understand hiding the fact that you have kids though. If you’re afraid to let me know that you have kids how could I trust that he puts their needs over his own? I actually was with the ‘expecting a child’ until she came with some fair points. I imagined trauma, forced marriages, ptsd situation... not telling you that until 2 years into the relationship could have been more to do with the person finally reaching a place of healing & acceptance for a time they tried to forget and wanted to keep in the past. It’s all hypothetical of course, but they were coming up with reasoning for both sides, so I wouldn’t shoot down her idea that they are in the middle of a divorce etc.

If your partner is expecting a child with someone else 2 years into *your* relationship, they cheated on you in the middle of your relationship. Whereas if they just didn't tell you that they were married with children 2 years into your relationship, they've probably just been committed to you in terms of love and the relation with the (ex-)spouse could probably be for another reason like staying under 1 roof for the kids. (This doesn't mean that cause other problems for the kids, but that's another conversation.) So in the first scenario, the partner cheated on you and omitted pregnancy information. The second scenario, the partner just omitted information. Both fucked up, but after a talk with the partner which would most likely have a (better) resolution.

if it was me in any of those situations, i would most likely leave the person. it would be easier to leave a person who already has an established family, than someone who has an unborn child and no confirmation of a partner or means to sustain themself. there are two potential reasons for this, either you don’t want to see your partner go through the pain of raising a child alone, or you don’t want to throw away your whole future for a partner who cheated and a child who is not yours. so it’s easier to walk away from someone who is already married. that’s my perspective on it

For the question about finding out if your partner is expecting a child that is not yours or finding out your partner was already married and had kids before the relationship, I'd choose to find out my partner is expecting a child that is not mine. I don't want to be with someone who would willingly walk out of a marriage and being a father to be with me. That's so irresponsible and shitty. If they didn't walk out of the marriage and hid both relationships from both parties, that's even shittier.
