Life in Thailand can be simple.. live the life you want and not what you think you're expected to live.
Young family trying to make it work in Thailand. It's not an easy task... We will share the challenges... the up's and down's...
If you have any questions I'm probably not the best person to give you solid advice but I will answer to the best of my knowledge and anything I share i've normally heard from a thai or a well established foreigner so isn't always 100% correct.

Well done to you mate, fair play. Consider your age and VS life back home in UK, most people your age live life like its a 3rd world country. Everything that you built there in Thailand with your family and contribution you have made for your in-law, you have almost no financial risk to be honest. Although you will get a fair bit of negative comments from those who wish they could do the same but don't have what it takes. Keep it up mate.

Thank you, things ain't perfect and I certainly worked hard in the UK to get enough money to travel. I'd say I got lucky with my main company in thailand and not lucky because it earns a reasonable income.. lucky because I thought of it before I ran out of savings haha. I expected a lot of negative comments on this video but seem to have had some very nice responses so far. Ive read my fair share of facebook group comments to know what's to come haha. I really appreciate the comment from yourself. All the best !

Just watched this one thru Drew, Your house is all you need, a different design but pretty much the same size as ours, Two bed / bath.. interior kitchen which we never use now ( did at first).and as you know with Issan cooking its all done outside. Before i retired after 38 years living and working in Jersey my trade was Painting/ Decorating and later years i dabbled in ceramic tiling. So when our house was built i did all the painting myself but not the tiling but now wish i had. hindsight is a great tool. our build in 2016 cost 1.3 mill so your 800k looks a snip to be fair. Personal preference tho ide be changing that grey and black, btw, having the kids about dosent surprise me, but what i am surprised at is your age at only 26 !! Wow big step to locate to Issan so young but fair play to you.. crack on with more vids your a natural. another lad making vids and building a house is Ben from the North west uk got a good channel too, worth looking him up Life in Thailand...ile just check for u

Thank you for taking the time to talk, I feel like our size is just what we need and when the in laws are gone (hopefully not soon) we will have both houses and can decide to either make 1 big one or not. Nice I wish I painted some bits myself but just didn't have the time. I will do a video at some point of someone in my village they paid 1.6 mil will be good comparison for everyone. The uncles did build my house though so it did lower my costs. I do love the grey though :D I will do an update when we've had the wall and beams done hopefully will look better. Im so glad I went with professional electric my inlaws house we just went cheap and the electric is on the outside of the wall haha. Yeah the aunties and uncles grand kids around all the time. Your place is flash bro. I spent 250000 building a 1 bdroom place for me and my kids (i am a single dad). Built cheap because the ex's family built it for me. Nice looking place you got mate, i see its the new Isaan farm house design with the sloping roof that we all have now....just noticed it's the same battleship Grey we all painted our new houses as well... Isaan core bro.

The first one we built was big and open and they picked a horrible brown colour (the house next door) I didnt have any involvement in that house they just cracked on and done everything nice and cheap. I'd be content with a one bed myself. Yeah the sloping roof that is crazy loud in the rain storms. 2-3 houses are battleship grey in our village the rest are crazy colours yellow, green etc or not painted at all. I have to say I love the grey but yeah very common with us foreigners :) Thank you for watching

@@lifeinisan I (Dave) would love to move to Thailand, although Rose would probably prefer the UK! 🥴 Most probably we will split our time between the two to keep everyone happy. I hadn’t considered rural Sakon Nakhon as a place to hang my hat, tbh, we usually knock around Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin and, occasionally Phuket and Krabi (although Rose returns to S.N. often to care for her mum) I guess it might be a two-step move for us, first go live in the tourist towns and then once the shine has worn-off, maybe consider somewhere more, erm, “normal!”. First things first, we need to do some more travelling as we haven’t thoroughly explored South East Asia yet, let along more faraway lands (for Rose). Just saw your video on your businesses. Land is included in my 800K price however we bought the land off a uncle who has no children. We set a deal and made him a room in the big family house to retire and live the rest of his days and paid very cheap for the land. (Our farm land isn't included though thats from a different person) As in building my thai family/friends are builders so they did the whole thing for us, Ive witnessed a few houses being built in our village from companies they get charged a X amount and the company buys the materials etc I can show some examples of this for you. Of course the price is a lot more and you get what they buy. I also found Global house to have a lot of tiles/windows/doors etc for similar or cheaper than our local little family shops. I went for a lot of cheap options so will probably start falling apart a lot sooner than some :)

@@lifeinisan I loved Grahams Motorbike rides along the Mekong near Chaing Rai. He had a love of the scenery and making vloggs cinematic for our big screens. Nowinlao is similar with vloggs around the areas I'd love to visit one day. Phongsali is on the bucket list

Lol you say “Isan” like it’s a city or small village. Isan is 1/3 of Thailand. You said your family is in “healthcare”. Not made of money, but I think you must have had some family money to get started at 25. Good for you, just don’t play it like you have shoestringed this all together.

I do sorry, its because i just think of the part I know haha my bad. Also yes they are in healthcare.. Healthcare assistants. Would of been nice to start this with "family money" I started this on savings limited ones, everyone always thinks about the money I had no help with money. I had help with inside knowledge (as in my family worked the job and for companies I could approach for business) oh and one big thing which made things a bit more scary when it came to starting my training business a bank loan Thank you for watching 🙂

Just comes across your Channel and wish you nothing but the best. However, relationships can sour and there are many who've lost everything, especially in a foreign land. If you're content to settle in a non-Christian country on your own head be it. Wisdom is hard to find these days.

Thank you! Hmmm I miss some of the banter from the UK not everyone gets the dry sense of humour from me here. Certainly some food I miss (family goes without saying) but you find you make more effort to talk/facetime etc when you live abroad and end up speaking to them more!

Western governments could learn a lot about caring for their citizens by looking at Thailand. They won't because they don't care. Also any one been thru the Western (anti)family courts ? Life unfortunately is a risk.
