One thing that I didn't say that I think is important, is the fact that we don't need to go crazy with trying to fit ourselves in a category. If a Lesbian woman and a mtf trans woman are dating...then it's two people dating. Two people that made a connection and are trying to get to know each other...THAT'S IT! We don't have to find labels for a beautiful connection.... But please tell me what you guys think about all these topics!! Luv you guys!!

My mom got fired from her job bc she was gay. Her employer was into her and my mom wasn't into her, so she fired her. We almost lost our house, it was ridiculous. I personally find it very rude when someone says i'm "Half lesbian half straight" bc I'm bisexual. I am bisexual, not half half. I have preferences, I'm not half.

I am a bisexual, Im not half straight half gay. Im not straight when Im with a guy and Im not gay when Im with a girl. I am bi with a separate experience from gays and straights and have seen and experienced biphobia and bi erasure from both. So no keep the B. I also know trans people who feel being trans and the trans experience is part of their identity and have their own community. Also keeps a focus on trans issues when talking about the lgbt community, if its not mentioned people will act as if it doesnt exist.

So , the word trans is used because they need to feel part of a own group? I just asking the almost same thing , if trans people , want to the other refere to them like woman or man , no trans woman or trans man... they still want to not erasure the term trans bc they feel that they have their own comunity?

Yeah there shouldn't be labels PERIOD! All that does and open people to criticize and that never fails. Just love and Be loved and love yourself.There is too much hate and competition in the world, can't we all just get along. Also for your birthday you should take a road trip to somewhere u haven't been, experience something new. I always try to do even one new thing on my birthday so, if this was my last day on Earth I wanna say that I lived. If you haven't been to Mexico, GO! I have to say I've always hated the word dyke myself simply because, like you said, some people associate it only in a negative way. And with the word queer I never have. I have friends who also identify as queer individuals. But when i hear people outside of the LGBT community use these terms, i simply enlighten them to the fact that not everyone may be okay with those terms. And i get that once you hear it so many times it can be annoying and make you angry. But one thing i have learned is that when people don't know something is wrong, your job is to educate them on the right steps to take to fix the problem. And patience is a major key in getting things done.
@AmbersCloset8 жыл бұрын
Yes I feel the same as you; it being your job to educate others. It's weird because I say it to myself but I would go off on someone other than my friends called me that
@hollowbluesmarket78878 жыл бұрын
+Ambers Closet Believe me, i completely understand, i used to do the same thing. I think, honestly, what helped me was to start asking questions. That may seem weird, but questions help you get answers. I have learned that the question "what did you just say?" always gets people to stop in their tracks. No matter how you say it. And once you have their attention and, calm yourself, and proceed to educated them. It will make you feel better, and they will have learned something new. Im sure you know how hard it is to listen to someone or do what they want if they're lashing out at you and making you feel like you're terrible. But thats just my thought.

I honestly think this quote sums it up perfectly. “Something unexpected seemed to clear away between us, and, for a second, it seemed there was absolutely no difference in age between us, just two men kissing, and even this seemed to dissolve, as I began to feel we were not even two men, just two beings.” - (Call Me By Your Name, Andre Aciman) I love this quote so much because it speaks to exactly what we all are if you strip away all the damn labels. At the core we are all just beings who want to be loved and trying to live our lives. I as a transguy just want to walk the world with those who are of the LGBT community and who are not. I just want to co-exist with people thats it. and I honestly think things are just getting way too out of hand on all sides of things. Everyone is so obsessed with labels and trying to force others into boxes that I just won't and NEVER fit in, and trying to force things on others. its all rediculous! like let people just live their lives and worry about your damn self! XD For example, my cousin is a very political, conservative person. (my whole family is) so when I came out as trans, he was like "well you know what birthname i'm going to call you (nickname of my birthname) because ive known as that my entire life." Now, I had two options in this situation: One, I could have reacted like most people do now and be like: "Well you HAVE to call me this or else." Or two, I can accept this opinion, honor the difference of said opinion and not let it affect me at all, and put no value in it and live my life. I went with option two, (and i already know people are going to jump all over me for saying this, but please try to understand before judging the situation.) Here is why? If you know who you are it doesn't matter how long you have known someone be it family or friend. Who you were to them back then, is not who you are now. Because no one on this planet can know who you are better than yourself, so any time I hear anything that is remotely negative when it comes to me being trans or if its a comment of "Well I think you are just a masculine lesbian." and you get misgender 24/7 like I do. I simply tell myself, "You know who you are and you know who you want to become. they don't have to like it, they don't have to agree with it and they don't have to accept it. As long as YOU know who you are then other peoples opinions of you do not matter. (Most of this stuff is coming from my own family, because of the way I came into this world which I am not going to talk about here. respectfully) this is not easy I know this, I am still fighting with myself about this very thing. And here is the funny part, I recently met a girl a straight/ bisexual girl. whose entire family is basically like my family to a T the only differences, her family does not care at all that I am trans and she is a very progressive Christian. And she has a big crush on me and is coming to visit me some time in August. She understands how my family is and she also understands that I am who I am to her, and that who I am to her is all that matters. I personally am not religious at all and our politics when it comes to each other is a little different in certain areas but we both respect one another for our differences and respect each other for the things that make us the same. In other words, what others think of you personally is not your business and what I think of them isn't their business. There is always going to be someone out there who has got some bullshit to say whether they should say so or not. That isn't going to change, you cannot make everyone happy, so you might as well just live your life how you want as along as you aren't hurting anyone and I am talking (abuse of any kind, murder.) If you are attracted to someone that you are attracted to the person as a whole not the label they are attached to. The label is just there to help you figure out your preferences which, watching porn can do that too. XD but... you get what I mean. Being LGBT is only PART of who you are not the be all end all. If that makes sense. I am trans, I am bisexual but I am also a writer, a drawer, a gamer, a person who loves dogs etc. Don't just hyper focus on the labels and just be yourself. sorry amber for this being so long! XD but i hope it makes sense.

6:12 Although I disagree with this disclaimer (Even evil deserves and possibly even needs more love, they are human too born with the disposition that we consider evil and they consider normal. Everyone deserves perspective and understanding. This is how we combat evil.) I absolutely LOVE this video Amber. You truly are amazing. It's no wonder that Ari and the other KZbin friends you've made and introduced us too speak so highly of you. You most certainly are a beautiful soul and I greatly appreciate you spreading this awareness and opening up this conversation for all your viewers. Thank you so much!! And I think it says a lot about you to want to give love to those that are evil.... i think all labels should be decided by the person. if someone wants to refer to herself as a trans woman she can. if she feels like thats a significant part of who she is she shouldn't be ashamed to claim it as her title. same goes for two people who maybe have the same sexuality but one just calls herself gay and the other calls herself bisexual-homoromantic, if its what makes them personally feel comfortable then I don't see a problem with it. I do, however, see a problem with other people, especially non lgbt people, trying to tell us what we should and shouldn't call ourselves. no one can tell you you have to be offended by the word "queer", if you only use it towards yourself and other people who are comfortable with it who tf cares.

"Your Labels are for others; your sexuality is for yourself " ... Once, Said Jade (Foxy) in which I agree. In my opinion, Labels are for helping those outside of the LGBTQ understand what one may identify themselves as within the LGBTQ community. I personally don't get bothered by labels b/c I know who I am... im the only person that can identify me for me no one else can. What's even more important is that I am comfortable w/ who I am.... sure I sometime refer to myself as lesbian, gay or a woman who loves women b/c I am not unnerved by it but I think it Solely depends on the person. Only you can define you! Be you and be damn good at it!

For your birthday you should go to your closest friends and ask them to write down 10 things that they think that you would never in your life do and put in a hat and the first five that you picked you have to do no matter how crazy it is. (within reason, dont do herion or something like that). I did this for my last birthday and I ended up getting a nose piercing, joining a Mexican independence parade( I'm African American) playing a triangle. And other things. .. but it a fun way to create memories with the people you love and have fun too.

For your birthday, start it off right with some mamosas for bfast, then hit the spa with some friends (tipsy of course). Once you're all relaxed from the chilltivities, head over to that baller friend's house who's gonna have a day long cookout for you. Hopefully a pool would be involved, but you'll still have fun without it. Finally, as the time ticks by (I hope you'll eat some of the food from the cookout bc otherwise you're gonna be hella drunk) the clock will strike 11pm which is turn up time. You'll hit your favorite bars and clubs with your friends and hopefully someone will be responsible because you've gotta get back somehow. You'll wake up the next day with the spins, but damn that was a good birthday!

Amber I a huge fan. For your birthday you should go out dancing with some friends and have some drinks. just let loose and go crazy. the best thing about do that is you feel so free and weight less that it becomes unreal and unimaginable. Or just stay home and sit in your house in silence and focus on you. let your mind, body, and spirit wonder to the deepest place inside you and see what you find, because the journey is wonder. I've tried it befor and it was not only one of the best birthday gift I had, but the best day because what I found I did know was even there. Okay so I have a suggestion for the giveaways that you do there is a site that people use that picks the people randomly for you so it makes it easier and fair for all the people who follow your instructions for the videos giveaway. I have seen several youtubers use them in videos. I think that for your birthday +Amberscloset you should do a secret meet up for a small intimate number of people. Then I think you should pamper yourself you are always working and it wouldn't hurt to go do something without the camera and just have a nice intimate time with great friends and good food. I think for your birthday you should do things you've always wanted to do or have been scared to do. Life is short, but its a journey. Always wanted a tattoo? Get that. Want to get pet monkey? Whose stopping you. Sky diving, hang gliding, cliff jumping, or even swimming with the dolphin. I like extreme stuff, so maybe its just me. But experiences aren't just for bragging rights, they're a part of life. But anything you do, make sure its with the people you love. Even if you just go play laser tag with 3 close friends and your family; showing the important people in your life that every year of life you spend is special only because of them is a prize. Not just for them, but for you as well.

That's crazy and I hate labels also but I'm a Trans Guy it is hard to tell some people because people can be so mean all we want is friendship with other people in the LGBTQ community.

Amber, I just finished watching this video and I need advice. A few months ago my grandmother and my mom found out I was dating a girl. I am a lesbian and they came out to my friends as one, but when they found out they told me the devil was taking over my body and that I'm going to burn in hell. It hurt me so much because my grandmother is a Christian and my mom doesn't support the LGBT community. I try so hard to be straight but I can't since then my grandmother never looked at me the same and my mom doesn't ever say I love you. It's hard because my grandmother and my mom fought for me to take me out of DCF. I want their love and support... Idk what to do? help.

I don't know about Amber, but I hope you have a great first day! Where are you from? I'm from Northern Ireland and I think I may be the only person in my country who is trying to build their own KZbin channel! Please check it out after school if you get a chance! 👍🏽

Start your birthday with a huge relaxing breakfast in bed, then after that go do something extreme that you can remember that you did on that particular birthday, eg, skydiving! Then at night throw a mint house party with all your friends, house parties are how we always get down in New Zealand!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY XXX
