I'm 16 and I recently overcame my fear of escalators. YES I SAID IT...ESCALATORS... :) I was scared of elevators ever since I was about 5 or 6 and I had no idea why...neither did I! LMFAO. But all of a sudden..I distracted myself by singing my fave songs and step on them and BOOM my fear was gone...ever since then I do have slight rapid heartbeats but it's so easy!!! I just ask myself why was I scared all this time? hahaha :)

Facts for comfort: As big as whales mouths are their their throats are pretty tiny and the biggest whale (blue whale) only has a throat the size of a beach ball so your pretty safe knowing they can't actually swallow you. Whales have very rarely ended up catching a person in their mouth but in most cases the people were in the way of the whales feeding by complete accident, but in all cases the whales immediately spat out the person because they can feel you in their mouth. And whales don't really like knocking over small ships because to them it would be like bumping your knee on a chair, sure it doesn't kill you or really hurt you but it does kinda hurt so they avoid that. I hope that kind if comforts you :)

Yes!! Me too!! I'm terrified of whales I had a lil shudder attack when you were describing the boat scene. Weird thing is I've never had a bad experience with one or seen any movies with scary whales so I'm not sure where it came from? And also! My worst worst fear is SO similar to your dream it's a bit creepy. It involves a plane crash into the ocean, watching my family drown, and then seeing whales... *shudders*I'm so happy to find this video I felt pretty alone before this

My wife has a whale phobia. She said she thinks it started with Pinocchio also lol. She used to freak out a little bit even seeing it on tv but she's forcing her self to look at them to try and get over it lol. We could be watching a movie and all a sudden one pops up and my reflexes immediately go to cover her eyes lol.

I actually am extremely scared of crickets lmao. My family laughs at me all the time, but this is no joke lol. When I was in junior high I woke up out of the blue. So I open my eyes, girl, crickets all in my bed. I freak out, run and jump in my moms bed and she kick me out talking about I'm tripping lol. So I go sleep on the couch. Girl tell me Whyyyy when we went to move my mom went to open my window and it was 1/4 full with dead crickets, no exaggeration whatsoever. She saw that and was like, oh you weren't lying it really was crickets in your room...... i just looked at her 😑 lmao but now i will not get near them. If I hear them I'm going the opposite way, I will take a long ass ways around to avoid them

I would say that I have a huge fear of the ocean.. but the real PHOBIA is more about what’s in it.. WHALES! they are my nightmare. It started at a very young age without any specific reasons. As a 1 year old child I could not touch or look at my whale toys or whales in books.. even drawn ones. I would immediately ely have such a bad panic attack that my parents got worried about me passing out. I had a nightmare about falling into a whale tank a few years ago and I woke up with a heart rate of 175 bpm. I live 10 minutes away from the ocean.. but I did not go near a beach for the past 10 years. I just can’t. Nowadays it’s easier sometimes where I have days I can kinda look at a picture of a whale and “only” feel uneasy. But anything more than that is impossible

ok with me, i don't know how my fear of whales came about. it just sort of happened. i honestly would have went into such a state of shock my heart would stop. i can't even look at the WORD whale without getting chills. i just don't know man. i hate blue walls and shower curtains, anything bigger than me that's blue, i hate. i do not like boats, they're creepy. FISH are creepy to me. pools, NOPE. anything ocean related will have me s h o o k. this phobia is sooo dumb but i can't get rid of it. 😭im so happy i could relate to someone on this.

I'll help you get rid of it: 1 Sharks: man sharks are so misunderstood they do not attack people on purpose they're just curious and want to investigate, most people are scared of them because they saw the movie I hate jaws, I hate shark movies because every time there's a shark movie it's all about sharks killing people but in real life they're not that dangerous in fact dogs cows and coconuts falling from trees killed more people than sharks. 2 Whales: They're huge and are very loud but come on they don't eat humans even if they want to they can't they're throats are a size of a piece of bread 3 Stingrays: Yep rays they're also very misunderstood some people may say they're ugly boring and very dangerous but stingrays just killed one person and that is Steve Irwin 4 Octopus: they're intelligent have 8 arms and 8 brains but most people might say they're nasty and spikey and kinda gross which is true but we can't hate animals all animals needs some love 5 The Sea: yeah the ocean where every "Scary" thing lives in, look I'm not forcing you to like the ocean but I'm just saying this to cure your phobia, so the ocean is deep very deep that's why people are afraid and some say coral which is a type of living thing found in the ocean are kind of disturbing Because of they're patterns but coral are very important to the ecosystem they also provide food for sea animals, I hope this will cure your phobia

Also, terrified of alligators. I live in Florida, surrounded by lakes. I saw one just chilling near my school bus stop, one rainy day. My professor wanted us to net fish in that pond!!!! Skipped that lab day, let me tell you. Another of my professors opened a door and bumped up against one sitting outside the door. Why are you HERE?!? Alligators make up most of my nightmares. They're freakin' dinosaurs, man. How can you even defend yourself? Their jaw pressure is immense, they can just keep growing HUGE, they have few weak points (the eyes, the underbelly; if you can even manage to hit those), they can run and climb, they death roll to drown you... uh, yeah, let me stop..

I clicked on this video because I thought I was the only one afraid of whales. I have nightmares about whales killing me by me swimming in the ocean in the future I was swimming really deep and a whale just crushed me and I woke up, The creepy thing is a month later my friend had a dream that she was a whale and that she crushed someone. though. The problem is i'm a swimmer(Pool) and a surfer(ocean).

i hear you Amber... i have a fear of ghosts but like those spirits that haunt you kinda ish.. and i have had instances where if i dont pray before going to bed i have a nightmare that something is pulling me or like choking me and i had a panic attack in my sleep a while back, i actually woke up in hospital and my partner was freaking out cos she couldn't wake me up i was told its a real sickness called "SUNDS" (sudden unexpected nocturnal death syndrome) and if no help is gotten asap then one could die. so i actually learnt that i need to meditate on positive thoughts before going to bed else i might die in my sleep, and there is no cure since there is no actual scientifically proven cause for it i guess i have to fight this through prayer
