I love in Game 1 how fast Tommy made the decision to play safe on that six ball...to many times i have played people who would stare at it and then try to make some crazy shot😂😂😂

😆 Maybe I'll just ask for games on the wire next time. I will say I was still feeling the pressure despite the handicap!

I'm in the same journey and having players at that level to compete with is such an advantage. I have several 700 plus players that I spar with frequently and I am quite Thankful. I play them even sometimes I'm winning other times I can't get out of my own way and they keep the pressure constantly on. I'd be glad to stream a match against yourself if it's feasable.

Thanks Jacob. It's awesome to have good competition. Shoot me an email and we can talk details: onthesnapinfo@gmail.com

Even for a ~200 Fargo difference, giving the 7 and 8 is a huge handicap, taking into account your skills. Good composure anyway. At the end, you need to perform. Thanks for the content.

Yeah, it's a big spot like I mentioned. More of an experiment than anything. Still had to stay sharp and make it happen. If you're curious, check out my other video where he and I play an even set: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaTdaqGCgZacgNksi=DNxafIkxhya3pZ30

In my opinion "Uxbridge Shorty" is a local legend here in the Bay State. Definitely a favorite in any tournament or challenge match. No shot clock needed with this guy. He's fun to watch and learn from unless you're on the receiving end.

I played a local tourney a few months ago that was handicapped based on balls like this. The way the handicap worked, I ended up having to give the 4+ wild. These guys were like 300 Fargos but just slammed to the 1 and if anything 4 up went in, they won. Crazy little tourney.
@OnTheSnap14 күн бұрын
Wow I've never heard of something like that. What a format haha
@adamgpool14 күн бұрын
@@OnTheSnap Yeah it was really wild. I came in with a higher Fargo (as you probably know from watching me play Drew), so they gave me a "9" rating, where most players there around 500 Fargo were between 4-7. The first guy I played, race to 7, I won 4 in a row, and then he "broke and ran" 4 in a row. But he really didn't break and run, he broke, made a ball, then slammed into the 1 ball and one of his money balls fell in. I ended up winning that match but yikes, it was a mess. Very different game compared to what we're used to for sure.

I would like to see not a win, when the extra money balls combo. Also if the table is given back to you on an extra money ball, you need to make 2 consecutive balls (7-8, 8-9 or 7-9 if 8 is down). It was great shooting on your part.

your a reasonable shot maker. You are correctly seeing your position zones but even in those zones 2" can mean the difference in letting the ball run and needing to use a bit of spin. Learning to not be sloppy with your leave is even a struggle for the pros. Your there.... there isn't big issues to fix now it is about spending time to make a 1% improvement.

Thanks for the feedback. It's good to see the work paying off in competition. I'm never satisfied, though, so I'm staying on the grind. Nowhere to go but up.

This is why I don't give wild ball weight. I'd rather give race weight because I still want to play the rack out. But I also am more of a tournament/league player so I don't gamble a ton...

Yeah, like I said, I don't need to be getting that weight. Just an experiment.

I never asked for weight when I gambled but it was never about the money. The best players were the gamblers and you weren’t going to get there best game unless something was on the line. If I won with a spot it didn’t feel like I won. For me it was always a nut up or shut up situation. I wanted to find out if I was getting better
@OnTheSnap14 күн бұрын
I get that. This one was more about learning how to gamble and how to make a good game. It's definitely less about the money for me. For some players, it's all they are after.
@toddrobertson139813 күн бұрын
@ i wasn’t putting you down for getting weight but that was a lot of weight on a bar box. Lol but I’m glad to hear your about winning an not money. I’ve won lots of tournaments and I don’t remember the money but I remember how it felt walking out the building as the last man standing. It never gets old lol
@OnTheSnap12 күн бұрын
@@toddrobertson1398 Yeah, of course. The money is really low on the list for me. If I do ever find myself in big money games, I want to make sure that I am approaching it properly. Making a good game is a skill unto itself, and I don't have a lot of experience with it. At the end of the day, I am more interested in improving my game and beating better players straight-up.

Honestly 750 vs 550 the 550 should just not play. Try 10 to 5 race with alternating break. Most scenarios the 550 would need 7 on the wire going to 12 with alt. Breaks to actually win so.e nights.
@thesafezone383314 күн бұрын
Just saying. If this guy offers to play for much more money and the same spot. Don't be surprised

Good looking out. I wouldn't get too hung up on my 550 rating. It's still preliminary. I do agree that games on the wire would be better for him and me.

@OnTheSnap8 күн бұрын
We only played the one set with this handicap. I wouldn't do it again. As I said in my comms, I don't need to be getting that kind of weight. It was just a learning experience. 99% of the time I'm playing even and getting sharp.

@rudys2002002 you’re being harsh. Grinding isn’t the only way to learn. I argue it does help his game. Look at the confidence he’s building and learning getting shape, planning ahead, etc
@rudys200220022 күн бұрын
@@iaaguirretv Fargo rate for pool is harsh, not positive criticism.. Sorry I didn't sugar coat it..You have players going to 3 and 4 games in tournaments and getting rewarded for playing bad or being a beginner. That has brought in Fargo rated action when trying to matchup etc

he shouldn't be giving you the 7. especially on a bar box. I think he should of gave you 1 game to five probably a tight match
@OnTheSnap13 күн бұрын
Good feedback. I definitely don't need the 7 against him. This one was more about learning how to ask for weight and testing myself. Keep an eye out for the next one - we play an even race to 7.
