I have built 2 of Tamiya’s 1/32 scale. Awesome kits, great fit.

I’ve been looking at this kit for a while, now I definitely want one in my stash. Built a Revell F-14 back around 1977. It would have been 1/72 scale, so the Tamiya 1/48 would be a much nicer model. Subscribed, good videos. 👍

This kit has so far just been amazing. Glad you like the videos and thanks for subscribing!

Whats it like building kits in 1977?
@reefhog3 ай бұрын
@@mdanumurthi I turned 12 at the end of ‘77, so I didn’t have money to spend on larger scale models. The F-14 was a gift, but mostly I would buy Airfix 1/72 aircraft, or Matchbox 1/76 armour. There was no photo etch, and glue only really came in a tube and was thick. Paint was all enamel, Humbrol or Testors. Modern kits are mostly far better quality.

@@reefhog haha. We all had the same experience! I started at 9 in '82. All i had were matchbox and airfix kits too. Pocket money saved and a trip to toy or dept store at end of year. LoL

Dont forget the GWH and the AMK ones as well. I built 7 of the 1:48 hasegawa ones and they can be built but are ageing and don’t supply weapons. Now to build the Tamiya ones.

Totally right, the GWH and AMK ones! Wow 7 hase F14 kits. Very impressive, mate!

The Tamiya F-14 kits took their spots as the best F-14 kits years ago, and nothing better has come along.

totally agree on this!

Great review Monty, I agree with all those points. For those who want to do inflight, its not that hard a conversion, its just tedious gluing in the multiple doors instead of having single pieces, and you need to do a fair bit of sanding and dry fitting before committing. There are also some mold seam lines on the tail and fuselage to be removed, but this take 10 seconds with a ceramic scraper. Cheers Chris

Thanks for the feedback, Chris. And also to suggestions for those looking to set up an in-flight display.

There's no doubt that is excellent model but for that price I would rather have two hobby boss wich goes quite good together and it's gonna look good in display just like tamiya.
