Would you buy these Isan Thailand properties? 🇹🇭

Life in Thailand can be simple.. live the life you want and not what you think you're expected to live.
Young family trying to make it work in Thailand. It's not an easy task... We will share the challenges... the up's and down's...
If you have any questions I'm probably not the best person to give you solid advice but I will answer to the best of my knowledge and anything I share i've normally heard from a thai or a well established foreigner so isn't always 100% correct.

Thanks again! Yeah its a very chilled spot. If you like a beer or two also great place to have it. if you take couple steps out of the village and on to the main road the prices got up to 2m+

Enjoyed the price comparisons in your village this vlog Drew. Some interesting properties that were on offer. That 300,000 hut property seemed great. I'd almost park cars under it the way it is and make upgrades to the standing structure. Hopefully you get your hands on it for a bargain in the future off the bank

Interesting video as quite simiar to my wifes village.Thanks for posting. Ive bought 3 adjacent plots to make one. About 1000 sq m. Demolished a shack. Raised and levelled land. Nice to compare as very hard to judge if I have paid the right price. I think proximity to a main road is a big factor.

Oh nice! Yes it's very hard to judge if you're paying a fair price but just to compare houses on the main road similar size are about 2Million baht in the area of my village! Thank you for watching

Another plus is I haven't seen any chemtrails in the skies above you in your videos yet. My mother-in-law lives in Chayaphoom province, even though I don't go there much, see some each time I go. Also intensifying in skies above Bangkok where I live. "Luckily" not as bad as in the West. But it's probably coming. Nice video as always mate. 👍

I did a fish pond once in one of my places there one of the those big monitor lizards came and ate them all . Not sure if that will be an issue in your area. Heard you mention you want to do a fish pond a few times

@@lifeinisan Ban Chang Rayong Area. I go to Tha Toom in Surin every now and again too. Like you my main business is outside of thailand and I go back and forth in process of moving the family there trying to convinve the kids to go to unverisity in Bangkok as its cheaper there than in europe!

Both which are involved with the bank are yes. I did ask a friend of the house that sold for 800k previously if it was and was told yes (Didn't confirm with the owner at the time as didn't want to buy back at that time) Thanks for watching!

I've found that land in Thailand is often a scam and held for long term investments/inheritance/inflation hedge (think 20-30 year time scales). The prices rarely reflect reality and properties will sit vacant for years as the owners don't really need to sell as they need the money in 20 years when the prices have appreciated,. Also I've found that real estate agents want 10-20% of the sale price so if you can't get in touch with the owner you're doubly screwed. Good luck!

Yeah that makes sense, we're lucky in a way they don't actually have and real estate agents here that I know of. If you're looking for a property to buy you just got to drive around and look for the signs. Thank you for watching!

@@darwinjina tetnus and rabies. 10 years protection. From petting a stray cat last year lol, 3 trips to the local hospital and about 100 baht each time. Not bad. I like animals, so was always happening at some stage 😂

Where is this in Isaan? When you talk about land for sale you have to state how many square meters of land or the Thai rai; ngang and wah.

This is in sakhon Nahkon, I do apologise I wasn't really thinking to much into it and was just showing what was around. I didn't really give any details due to not knowing them. @@lifeinisan I live in Pranburi but we have some land in North Thailand Uttaradit in the country side . It's 30KM from the town but we have 6 Rai of land and we want to sell our house where we are now and build a small house up there and maybe just grow some vegetables etc but no livestock. Some people told me I will get bored up there because there are no farangs about but to tell you the truth I am getting fed up talking to alcoholics as a lot of them tend to be know-alls

@@dermotkelly2289 Remember this is thailand cheap and easy to get around, Maybe worth spending a bit of time up there and see how you get on. It's not for everyone but for me personally who doesn't drink much I was pretty alone even in the busy places with lots of farangs 🤣 good luck with everything!

Would I buy a property in Isan Thailand? Well not on your life. Having been there several times I would say it's a good place to visit but never live. Reasons for that, it would be like living in a rice paddy. Shopping is at best rubbish so is the winter weather when it is cold. Also, has a Better internet connection. if you come a few hundred KM lower and over in Thailand and you will get very good weather all year round, with great shopping. The property is about the same price as in Isan. I paid 14K UK for our place. What's it like? Well, it's a freehold detached 5 double bedroom brick built Bungalow with 6 wet rooms 3 on suite, and two kitchens Thai one and Western. Must say that was a few years ago. But still cheap to buy or rent here. Shopping locally we have Makro, Big C, a Tesco? and Robinsons. spoilt for choice. Well, you did ask.

Very interesting read, I like to hear both sides and I can see were you're coming from with things. I personally love it here but I haven't been here or in thailand as long as some. @@lifeinisan I first retired to Thailand some 25 years ago. So have seen it, found it, done it, and got the tee shirt. Took me several years to find the correct place for my Thai wife our daughter & myself. Rented for several years all over Thailand until I found where it suited us. Taking everything into consideration the weather, the cost of renting cost of living ETC. I chose a City called Kamphaeng Phet. Some 350 KM north of BKK. First rented for a few years then wanted to rent for another year, but the lady that owned the House wanted to sell, it was so cheap I couldn't refuse, so paid the 14K UK she wanted for it. Have got that back many times by not having to pay any rent for several years. N/B I wouldn't recommend anyone else doing what I did unless you have a 30-year rental agreement with the person that actually owns the house. In my case, it's my Thai wife.

What sort of visa do you have? I assume a Non Imm O (Married to Thai). Which enables you to work. But you cannot buy and own land in Thailand as a Farang.

Hello I'm non B with work permit, I am a managing director of a Thai company, I unfortunately cannot own land, it's a pain but certainly a good thing for Thailand. My daughter is the owner of the land but of course her mum has control until daughter turns 20. Thanks for watching

After all these years, my present understanding is that: 1 - It's much safer to leave near enough with the family, but not with them. 2 - You have no right on any property / land (with exception for some condos). Full stop 🤐 3 - We have nothing to teach / to help Thai people. They know better about their country, their land. 4 - Develop your own business, your own income completely outside the family, so that later you will be in position to help and support yourself and anyone you care of. We are not Thai, and never will be: that's a feature! Neither Thai of Farang are better than the other, we are just different, can live parallel lives like the two rails of a train track. At the end of the day, I had and still have a wonderful life and work in Phuket ! Sorry for being a ฝรั่งพูดมาก this morning😁

@@pmoohkt Thats a pretty solid way of looking at things, I agree with that. I suppose for me its just about buying for my daughter and of course I get to use and enjoy. We decided put everything in my daughters name but of course they have no power until aged 20. So from there we've done a long lease registered on the Title making it hard to sell or do anything with until shes of age.
