While there are some good charities out there where most of their funds actually go the cause they advertise, there are PLENTY of charities where the majority of the donations see their way into the solicitors’ pockets instead of the needy. The March of Dimes, ironically named enough, has been reported that 10% (one dime out of every dollar) actually goes to the cause while 90% goes into their pockets. Unicef is one of the worst. About 5% of their donations actually go toward the cause. So if you donate $1000, they pocket $950 of that. Before you ever consider donating to a charity, make sure you know who they are and where the funds actually go, because a sickeningly high percentage of them are just businesses that basically just steal people’s money.
