I learned to fly about 6 years ago and it ended up as just a good way to stand out on dating sites. Once I got near to getting the licence I found out none of my friends would trust me to fly them anywhere and that in fact they barely trusted me to drive them around sometimes. But in short, the Top Gear episode with Clarkson in the OG Bugatti Veyron vs James flying a plane with Richard as luggage, kinda highlights the minefield of pitfalls of actually flying around. Even learning there's British weather grounding you pretty much half the time. Cost is huge. Planes don't cost too much but parking and maintenance do. Horses cost less. The drawbacks get boring but the flying never does. Never fucking does... might start it again.
