George did you know there's a thing called the sand wall at every coast about 250 meteres out to sea, its essentially a sheer cliff underwater that you cant see. Imagine you're walking on the seabed with your head just high enough that you can breathe above the water, and you suddenly fall underwater and there is no ground nothing to stand on anywhere unkess you can swim back up. Very scary, experienced this before, would not advise

If I recall correctly Hyperion is over 700-800 years old and is a coastal redwood. Redwoods already get tall but Hyperion is around 300ft tall and if you're curious, yes trees used to get taller. There are reports from earlier on history that they cut down firs and pine trees that were around 400ft tall. It's theorized it used to be somewhat of a phenomenon in prehistoric times too, that the deeper you whent into the forest the more fuck off tall the trees got like how you go out farther in the ocean the deeper it gets.
