Hey guys! I think Trevor having to putt twice from inside the circle and make both instead of flipping a disc would be more entertaining and solve the tap in dilemma. Love the videos! Keep it up!

@@digital0785 Makes SO much more sense. Don't think the idea of the original question ever intended that your chance of making any given C1 putt would be 50%, but that your overall C1 percentage would be 50% which is completely different and doesn't equal missing five footers.

They should do this but for the putting debuff, you have to make the putt twice, and for the buff you get two chances to make the putt. That seems the most fair way to double and half your putting abilities.

Completely agree, but it does put the putting buff at a bit of a disadvantage. I would add the caveat that the putting player gets 2 putts from C1 and C2.

In the same vain then Trevor could just move his lie to a tap in everything. This helps counter that I think. Maybe make it so Trevor can only get to circles edge or 25 feet, then make him make 2 putts to add to the 50% putt percent

I think you guys should have done where Trevor would have needed to make TWO putts for it to count inside C1, OR let the 50/50 flip be just for one stroke (you miss the putt but guaranteed the next one). Bullseye would be a gimme. It seemed like Trevor’s score relied a LOT on luck.

I think a big issue I have with this is the putting rules are super simple, but the distance rules are kind of funky and leave a lot to chance. Hunter just has to throw good lines until he's in the circle. Trevor has to calculate vectors and make decisions about using his ability to get inside the circle. And then finally he can leave it to chance. If 400 ft is your golf line. Keep the putting rules the same, and then do 200 ft added distance but only on the drive (or first two on a par 5). Being able to scoot your disc up under the basket 80 ft on your third throw has nothing to do with distance arguments. And then inside the circle he has to make two in a row.

The weird thing is that you throw putters 300ft instead of using a 9-11 speed like most ams that can barely break 300 do. The biggest benefit of throwing far is being able to throw mids and putters on longer shots.

+200 ft buff should only work if you throw a full power drive, and only if you don't hit a tree. To balance that, ditch the 50/50 putts if you can reach in the basket, so laying up within C1 becomes a valid strategy (but one that Trevor won't succeed with every time).

To add my two cents, I think if it were just adding buffs to each of your game and alternate the holes? Putting buff: 100% in the circle and 2 chances from 33ft to 50ft. Driving distance buff: Add 150ft, but maybe increase in distance based on drawing the same line +200ft instead of mirroring the casual relief rule. The handicaps hurt to watch. Maybe add other buffs and just make it a game? Accuracy driving buff: 2 off the tee. Upshot accuracy buff: 2 shots from 175ft to 80ft out. Inside circle buff: 100% inside the circle. Outside the circle buff: 33ft to 50ft (2 putts) 50ft to 70ft (3 putts). ORRR create a list of characters based on current pros, maybe using mocks ups of trading cards that are drawn randomly at the start of each hole, each of the characters have a set of abilities, maybe some handicaps? Example? Gannon Buhr Improved circle 2 putting: For all putts taken within 33-66ft from the target, take a second putt if the first is missed. Single use ability: Flex line accuracy: If throwing an overstable flex shot, gain shot accuracy buff and take a second shot. If single use ability is used all concurrent shots must be timed by card mates. If 30 seconds are exceeded, receive one penalty throw.

Caveat to Trevor's bonus could be: You can add up to 200ft, but you can't do more than double your distance. In other words, if you only throw it 50 feet, you can only add another 50.

Posting this answer solely based off of the video title. I'd settle for just another 50'. Seem to be stuck at 350-370' max. Just those extra 50 feet would give more looks at putts. It would be sweet to hit every putt, but having more looks would be more fun long term. Being perfect at anything would kinda take the fun out of things. At least for me. Now to watch the video...

Absolutely love the concept of this video! However, I don’t think we got to see the full advantage of 200 extra feet. I understand the theory of “keeping the line,” but extra distance unlocks the ability for new lines… I’d think the spirit of the thing is more important than the actual line Trevor puts it on initially (especially if you’re going to keep flipping for tap in putts). Just give yourself a similar look farther down toward the basket (not deeper in the woods or way off target)

I love the idea for the video, but we know nobody misses a 3-5’ putt, so the only ones he should have to flip on are ones that are somewhat challenging. Or he could have to make every putt twice for it to count.

Trevor shouldn't have to putt at all inside C1. If he is inside he just instantly flips on if he makes it or not.. If you force him to make the putt it compounds the miss percentage. Say he is 60% C1, if he has a 25 footer and has to putt it then flip his make percentage goes to 30% (.6 x .5) so by making him actually putt his make percentage drops to even lower than the theoretical 50%. Do it again!! Fun watch!

I think for the putting, it should have just been every other hole the made put is counted as a miss to be more accurate. Essentially it's adding 9 strokes to the round anyway. that's more accurate of MISSING 50% of putts as opposed to a 50% chance you get to keep the made putt or not.

him taking shots from circle 2 makes sense because if he gets it in it's not 5050.. because if he flip and gets tails he has to flip again .. if it was setup so he just doesn't make that put but automatically gets the next one then it would be 50/50 so it 100% sense to run it when he can have a drop in and be hosed multiple times in a row

Fun idea but this rule set doesn’t accurately depict the real argument, nobody is so bad at putting that they would miss a literal drop in 50% of the time. I think a better version of this would be always add 1 to Trevor’s putt unless it’s a tap in. Meaning if he makes a 12+ footer you add one to his score. But if it’s a tap in you don’t add anything extra. Simulates someone who can’t putt more realistically. Part of the advantage of the drive for show person would be if they gave themselves tap ins they don’t need to be good at putting. The only advantage the putt for dough person has is they don’t need to approach as accurately/they can run longer putts and make the come backer. But they mathematically can’t make a lot of birdies depending on the length of the hole.

Why is this experiment even necessary? Distance separates different skill levels. Now when i say distance in skill levels it's a big gap. 20ft isn't going to cut it. You need 60 to 100ft depending on the course. The Little things like putting, approaches, and versatility separates people within those skill levels.

Hunter should be forced to rethrow if he throws at least 25 feet past 300 feet. If he does it again on the same throw he is penalized. Trevor should have to make 2 putts in a row instead of the flipping a disc. There is no reason why Trevor shouldn't ALWAYS putt from 10.01 meters if he has to option to. Assuming he is at least 51% from just outside the circle. This would prevent that and actually cut his putting by 50%. This should be done on a course where there are more 300-400 foot holes. For Hunter to have any chance at New London, Trevor HAS to have a bunch of bad flips essentially. Trevor can throw putters and mids and be more accurate to so the 200 feet extra is way more accurate for him on the shorter courses. Since he can easily throw 400 with drivers but putters and mids is another thing.

The method you picked for Trevor’s putting made absolutely no mathematical correlation to the entire question. It’s not 50% inside circle 1 if he’s constantly missing 1-3 foot putts.
