This beautiful conversation went into spaces that will melt your heart and elevate your mind. The goal was to curate the woman's take on "Defining A Wife" but it became so much more. We are privileged to see the effects and affect on what a good wife does for the heart of her husband and becoming the thermostat in the home as Cheyenne and Shavon Smith share their journey.

I’m looking at Laterras getting emotional and I’m praying GOD PLEASE… don’t let him be a second too late or a moment too soon. Send him the desire of his heart to the last detail. God bless you for waiting, Sir. I can imagine how hard it is to watch couples tell their love story and dying to one day share yours. She’s coming sir! You have so many people praying for you. Keep standing keep praying keep preparing. ❤️

This episode was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I watched together. We know Cheyenne and Shavon personally. God has truly mastered their marriage. From the very first time Chey told me his side of their meeting and the very first time I watched Shavon give her testimony, I KNEW God was in control! I will forever cry tears of sorrow and tears of joy when I hear their story. You see, I had to say goodbye to my friend, Ebony, in order to say hello to my new friend, Shavon. I praise God for the example of His grace, love, kindness, and restorative power that works through Pastor Chey and Prophetess Shavon. They are truly His humble servants. We love them dearly and thank God for the vehicle of this podcast to carry their story across the globe! Truly, well done! Kelvin & Naomi Hugh

@@DearFutureWifey Laterras, may I? You remember in Job (3:25) when what he feared actually happened to him? Don't fear! Perfect love casts out fear. Just say a prayer in faith and don't make an idol of your wife. And maintain the position that even if God allows her to pass, He has the right (think Abraham/Isaac). God allowed an idol I had to be taken, and it was pretty bad. I realized that if it wasn't an idol to me, maybe He wouldn't have allowed it to be taken😒 When I can handle it, I'll get it back. . .don't want that to happen to you or anyone else🙏🏽Sorry for the long post 🤗

This blessed my romantic spirit😁! I am so happy for them. For me, I'm weary and leery of people's prophecies over me. Wish I had a dollar for every, "your husband will be here by _____ time". Someone even told me my husband was a well known gospel singer... deep sigh. I gave my heart to the Lord as a pregnant, single 21 year old in 1988. My "baby" is grown and married... I am still single. I have run the gamut of emotions over the years. I'm approaching 55 in a lil over a month. I am now at the if it happens it'll be a blessing, if it doesn't happen I'm already blessed. I finally have peace about the situation😁.

Continue to put your eyes to Jesus sister! God is faithful and in due time he will fulfill his promises. We sometimes miss the mark because of our disobedience, as you could listen to this testimony…..she didn’t question God! She was obedient to the voice of God and never question despite of the naysayers. The prophecies always comes with conditions that involves walking in faith. Anyways, I know that God haven’t leave you or forsaken you. He is still doing something new in your life today. God bless you woman of God!

Not everyone is born to be a husband or wife. It also annoys me to hear so many people speaking on your life stating “God told me”. God didn’t tell you a thing about me, He speaks directly to me. As for Laterras, it pains me to witness soooooo many people speaking into his life and over him. This has caused him to recently trust the wrong woman, who broke his heart to shreds. I personally believe she did it purposely. I also believe she is a WITCH! He thought she was his wife because his Pastor friend and wife said they were aligned. All the while, the woman was turning a knife in his heart. Continue to listen to God and be ok with being single. That may be where your peace resides. Be well. 🌺🙏🏽

Facts! Literally now living through the trauma of losing my husband. Widow at 37. Talk about trauma staying up all night until the sun comes up to thank God for seeing another day. Standing in fear for the other shoe to drop. Horrible place to live in. Chest pain, heart pain, etc. lord heal us all!
@tashatasha7988
@tashatasha7988 Жыл бұрын
My husband died 3 years and 2 months ago. I can understand and relate about the chest pain. For 24 years My husband took the responsibility seriously of caring for my heart, mind, and spirit. He was truly a man of God. We poured into each other. My relationship with him NEVER felt like work but it indeed felt like a fairytale that I experienced each day. He was proof that I God was looking after my heart. For 24 years, I was happy. The only time that I was sad was when I watched him die right in front of me. When he died, I went immediately to my body experiencing a nervous breakdown. I was actually hospitalized because the doctor told me that I could possibly have a heart attack. My husband died the day before Valentine's Day. It was the very first time that I didn't have his physical presence but I had the memories of his heart. Each day I would ask God to just give me strength for the day.. To hold me and guide my feet adjusting to a new norm. I miss my husband in every part of life because we shared life with each other. In life we never know when it's going to be our last day with our husbands or loved ones. I am thankful to have experienced such great love. I smile because I love him and cry because I miss him. This particular story lets me know that I can be blessed with someone that will understand that I will always honor my husband's legacy while honoring the gift of loving the new person that God sends. Because truly I couldn't be who I am without all that my husband poured into me. So my future is still being blessed by him. My sincerest condolences and prayers are with you. I am living witness that God will give you everything that you need on this journey. He keeps the promise of comforting us as we mourn. This episode helped me realize that all the love that I inside of can still be poured into giving whomever God sends all they need. My deceased husband always told me that my love was the connection to his strength and I know that I still have that love within me. Even in our grief God will never forsake us. He is always a present help. Grief counseling is a blessing because it gives us healthy tools to navigate the journey.

He's still in mourning. A 20yr marriage that ends abruptly in death does not just leave your heart in 2yrs. I'm not saying that this marriage is not ordained. I can't make that call. This may have needed more nurturing and time though. Memorializing his former wife in this way AFTER remarrying is definitely something that needs some attention. His grief has not truly settled in yet and once it does, she is going to have to be ready to do some serious ministering to her husband because it could make or break the marriage. His pain is deep and so is his love in reference to his former wife. This man was and is still very much in love with his former wife. My prayers are FOR them. I just hope that when they have to sit in the reality, which will happen at some point, that they'll remember the vows.❤️❤️❤️

Interesting take on this. I just heard from someone whose sister died 2 years ago, that her brother-in-law is engaged. I understand that he (and a preteen daughter) had counseling, as the wife's death was sudden. Still, everyone heals differently. I'm wondering if it's a case of men not wanting to be lonely?

@@shanettaforbes1788 I understand. I just think that too many times we fall in love with the idea of love or the euphoria of God's great miracle in bringing the pieces together. And we SHOULD celebrate that. This story was amazing to me. On the other hand, we are not honest about what it looks like when you settle into it. I knew my comment wasn't going to be popular with many (lol) but I have lived through this and I know what it can look like after you settle into the work associated in love. I don't think she isn't his wife, I just believe that God can show you and tell you but still not be prompting you to jump in. Their situation may end up totally different. I'm not against that. I wish them all the best. ❤️

Hello, I just recently discovered this podcast and this episode was right on time for me. I am a widow, and honestly have not always handled my journey as most thought I should. I was married for only 8 months, 11 days. My husband and I were one so when he passed away I honestly had to learn how to breathe again. It has been a journey in 2 months it will be 5 years. I have not given up on love because I know that God called me to be a wife. Blessings everyone and May God bless

This was so impactful. Thank you to the Smiths. A timely reminder that waiting is not being stationary but it’s actively waiting. Just had a conversation with a dear friend that as we wait we are going to live; we are going to travel and develop ourselves in every area of our lives. It was so good to hear these same things expressed on the podcast. I pray God continues to lead you Laterras. You are doing a great job.

Such a beautiful love story! I was in tears, my heart ached but felt the blessing and message in their story. Message I received: Be able to hear the voice of God, and have faith in his instruction regardless if it doesn't make sense and take action. I was so inspired by this couple's story. God loves us so much and knows exactly what we need! You did it again Laterras..another amazing and blessed episode!

To answer the question I absolutely would allow my future spouse to get a tattoo of their deceased spouse Absolutely God bless everyone!

I can relate to the trauma. 😔 I was 26 and pregnant with my first child when my mother passed away talk about devastating. She passed of a heart attack, and a month after her passing I start to experience exactly what this gentleman experienced. It took me three years to fully overcome the anxiety and panic I experienced. That is when I turned my life over to Christ and allow him to guide my footsteps. I still trying to process this episode, I'm in tears with how GOD works. You are amazing Jesus 🙏🏽

Will watch later. Judging by the title...absolutely not. If you need to do all that then you don't need to be married. It would be different if he already had the tattoo once I met him but to get one after we are married, nope. He should have completely healed before he got married and potentially using someone else to fill emotional voids.

To each it's own. Your opinion is very valid and I am sure many feel the same way. But see what she is ok with, others may not be ok with. Just like some things that are considered red flags to us may not be considered red flags to others. People have their own things they are ok with. If it works for them and they have an understanding then may God continue to keep a hedge over their marriage.

@@commonsenseprevails1433 Very true. That period of time has ended. There needs to be a letting go and moving on. There's no need to have a third person, other than God, in a marriage. That represents to me that the husband has not truly moved on.

In the last few yrs two of these gentlemen passed away and my heart was broken beyond words ( some days are still very difficult). Your podcast has been my saving grace since April of 2020. I've watched you grow and this has given me hope. Thank you for being transparent and allowing God to show us your growth under a microscope. Keep following the direction of the Lord. Wow! This popped up on my TV last night when I was working out. I thought this was a new episode... I just wanted to say how much I needed this. Lately, I've been approached by men who were providers in their previous marriages, but now want a 50/50 marriage. I'm not looking for a man to take care of me, but everything I have I got on my own. It's been a complete turn-off and red flag hearing men talk about what they had or did in a previous relationship but now expecting to be the head/leader and provide less than 100%. I'm going to pray God gives me more grace and discernment moving forward. Great interview!💖

God is doing something monumental through your platform. I pray more young women watch these last several shows and truly listen intentionally… To hear all of these strong powerful women who can still be feminine and submissive to their husbands and don’t have to choose…that’s big. The enemy is attacking these young women into thinking they need to be strong & don’t need a man or husband. Some may be called to be single, but I pray they find the message. As always, their story is beautiful. That’s such a special woman. ❤

I feel you on that. I’m 56, never married, no children. I never had a burning desire to marry. I wanted to grow up, get an education & get my own place. I was never passionate about being a mother, although I love kids. I just thought everybody gets married & has children. Never happened & I’m ok. Never imagined being single at this age. It’s interesting. I guess it’s time to ask God to show me my purpose.
