I was wondering could you program the emergency CB channel frequency into this radio so if you outside cell phone range you can use it to call for help if you need to and how far were you able to talk to someone without a repeater
@n1cy5828 жыл бұрын
No, the CB Band is not covered in this this radio! You'll need a radio that covers 27Mhz Band! You can talk as far as 5 miles, maybe a bit more without major obstructions.

I have just bought this radio, and i have a little problem. I do also own a KG-UV6D, where i can change between VFO and Channels via the buttons. But on this i have to have it connected to the computer, and it seems like i am not able to save flight-channels (only RX ofc). Is this right, or am i a schmuck?

You can go to vfo by pressing and holding on the TDR/VM this will toggle between MEMORY CH, MEMORY CH NUMBER AND VFO. Depending on your version, the other issue not sure about!

@n1cy5829 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Framo I don't believe it has automatic shift direction, so once you program a frequency in VFO, you'll need to set a Minus (-) or Positive (+) shift direction depending on the repeater..... you can program all that manually without a cable and software. Thanks again.

How come Kenwood icon Yaesu the radios automatically do it for you automatically shifted down 600 automatically puts the negative plus on your screen how come these other new radios coming out don't do it could you answer me that question is that why the price is so cheap on the other radios
@n1cy5829 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Framo I really don't know why they don't do it! That radio is loaded with features that some of the expensive Japanese radios don't have, so I doubt if the price was an issue. BTW, the shift direction is easy to get to, its menu number 6.

@n1cy5828 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey Downer it will depend if you're in memory (channel scan) or in VFO (frequency/band scan). In the first instance, it depends on number of memory channels, in the latter, it depends on your frequency step, i.e; 5/6.25/10/20Khz step....

Sorry for the delay, any distance is possible as long as you have a fairly decent line of sight!

I thought I had a filtering problem hearing multiple repeater id's. Ended up being the repeater I was hitting was connected to two other repeaters lol. Chinese rf filtering is cheap anyways. Near power lines you will lose 90% of your reception on 2m. The better antenna you use the worse it receives is how that's diagnosed.

Also any dialed frequency in 900mhz range is actually 700mhz. 948.860mhz will be on 764.260 Wich is 184.600 difference. It will show 900 but actual frequency is exactly 184.600 less. This unit is a lemon. Just when you think u listening to 900mhz know that u are not. It simply is false and misleading.
