WOW Classic - Fury Warrior - How to parse higher in Blackwing Lair

WOW Classic Fury warrior DPS guide on how to get higher parses in Blackwing Lair, in this guide I will mention what raid composition, consumables, rotation and cooldown usage I've personally used to reach my 99 parses.
I will go through each boss explaining what I do and why I do it boss-by-boss.
And of course if you can pop recklessness on 2 bosses each week that is definitely the way to go to get the highest DPS possible on each boss for your sweet parses.
I made a mistake on Nefarian - you can only use one aoe consumable - either a sapper or a stratholme holy water - they share the same cd. (Not sure how I forgot that)

On Vael, when the boss turns towards the melee camp he can parry and rogues cannot use their backstab so that's why you should have the melee camp on the other side of the boss. Also make sure that your tank talks to the boss where his tails is = boss will turn, then tanks go towards the "throne" and will get his first global on the boss without a risk for parry which is more threat since "no unlucky" start on their rotation. And on Chromaggus make sure to use Sappers on Fire Weakness.

Hey man, Great tip - I have actually not considered that fact since I dont have a rogue (yet lol). Il try to pass that along to the tank with the throne thingy and see if that is something he does. On the vael kill in the vid - his ui was bugging hence the bad threat - usually he's miles ahead. Chromaggus tip! AWesome idea - never thought about that - I guess it becomes a 2k hit from sapper instead of the usual 500 dmg ? Il try that next reset for sure. One recommendation for Chromaggus is to use goblin sappers when he is fire vuln. Its an extra 2-3k damage when he is vuln which is like an extra free execute! Pretty nice to pump a little extra damage.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the consensus is that waiting until execute phase is the best use of your mighty rage pot as the extra rage -> execute is a bigger dps gain than the few extra seconds of +str.

@@DamnboiTV I think everyone knows that. The point is that for an average length fight, potentially losing a few seconds on MRP is way offset by the extra damage you do on your MRP -> Execute. Marrowar has a small section on it with maths. Check it out

Went back and actually looked at the logs for some of the top parsing warriors and they're definitely popping MRP in the last 10 seconds or so of a fight (including the top warrior in your own raid incidentally.) Ie: execute phase vs full str duration.

Great video and information as always! I have a question on a side topic. I am a Tauren Warrior with Thunderfury, Maladath, and Edgemasters. I was fury prot tanking for quite a while but ive decided to step into a dps role for awhile and let our other great tanks have at it. My issue is that ive found very little information on fury warriors dpsing with Thunderfury, which hand TF/Maladath should be in, and a few other small things. I would appreciate any advice you might have, or any recent information or Logs to reference of someone in a similar situation. As always keep up the great work!

Hey bud, Thanks for that nice compliment - as far as I know you should use TF in main hand for as many procs as possible. But it might become a threat issue if you're on horde? I'd give that a go and see how it goes - it should be quite amazing for dps aswell :D. Personally i'm leading a mc pug weekly to try and get it myself - the last item I need to "complete" the game from my point of view. Thank you bud and welcome. If you have two slow weaps use HOJ, if you have slow mh and fast oh i'd use Blackhands breadth. BT > WW > heroic strike to dump rage when above ~50 rage. Use reck with other cds deathwish ietc.

Hey bud, Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed! What is the hit cap? Yellow hit cap 9% with 300 wepskill 6% with 305 wepskill White hit cap Don’t worry about it, its not possible to reach it. What is the crit cap? There is a cap on how much crit chance your white attacks can benefit from. This is due to the attack table adding up to 100%. Your crit cap is 100% - Miss Chance - Dodge Chance - Glancing Chance + Crit Suppression. Basically you can increase your crit cap by getting more hit chance, which is why hit chance has more value when you’re crit capped. Being crit capped usually only occurs when you’re fully world buffed and using consumables. What are glancing blows? Glancing blows occur if you’re attacking mobs that are same or higher level than you (or if your weaponskill is lower than the mobs defense skill). Glancing blows only occur on white attacks and result in reduced damage. Since glancing blows occur 40% of the time when attacking bosses, getting atleast 305 weapon skill is important. I actually have been wondering about OP as well, I took 2/2 over execute thinking a high chance of an OP crit would help my dps, but in practice I find most of the time I would have to lose too much rage to stance dance, so I just keep my normal rotation instead. I'f you've gone to not useing OP, did you put your talents 2/2 execute instead?

OP is best for giving you flurry procs when you're not crit capped. So it won't make much difference if you have BiS gear and world buffs, but it actually can make a huge difference if you don't. Just depends. The same rule of thumb goes for heroic strike queuing -- it's not important with BiS/WBs cause you usually have enough rage to just keep HS up permanently

A lot of my guildies have been using that set and I definitely recommend you using black dragonscale gear since the more fr the more resists on flamebuffet -> the more dps you can do on the boss because you can stay in for longer. REMEMBER to get that 6% hit tho if you have 305 weapon skill with your weapons otherwise 9 % hit if you only have 300 weapon skill! DamnboiTV yeah I don’t use black hands anymore since I have dft. When I use the spreadsheet I got from fight club discord, I see the hoj coming ahead with world buffs over diamond flask at about 165-170 seconds in my current gear. I mean it makes logical sense since it only lasts 1 min. There will be a point where hoj will win out. Actually when I try your setup the threshold seems to be about 210 seconds where black hand and hoj is better then hoj and diamond. But I doubt you have fights that long in ducks! Haha

I have a question about crit cap. i am a orc warrrior using axes with 6% hit. does that mean my white hit crit cap is only 32%? if so when i have full world buffs my crit is 45% should i use elemental sharpening stones to bring me up to 47% or us dense stone on my offhand. i know the crit will be good for my yellow hits but not my white hits.

Hey bud, With 6 % hit your mh is capped at around 41% for White hits - offhand around 60% according to fightclub sheet. Elemental will give you a bigger dps increase than dense Stone. You also try and sim it yourself :)

Hey bud, Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed! I've heard that aswell - but I have found no research that supports it - if you have some links or the like that does i'd be happy to try it out. But when you think about it, it could make sense . 30 rage execute = 900 dmg minimum. Bloodthirst at 2k ap = 900 dmg. I'm around 2800 buffed so execute stays the same and bloodthirst hits for 1260. But this would mean (for me atleast) you would only be doing bloodthirst over execute if you have less than 52 rage at the current time you press the ability. @@DamnboiTV It's 15 dmg per rage for Execute isn't it? So I spent the day reading and trying to understand Marrow’s Compendium of Dragonslaying (found online). I came to a conclusion and I would like to have yours. With 2000 attack powers or more, I think it will ALWAYS be worth it to use Bloodthirst on cooldown, even with 52 rages or more as you said. Since Bloodthirst has a better damage per rage than Execute from 2k AP, I don't think the amount of rage pool matters (30 rage vs 52 rage and so own). As an exemple, let's say you have 60 rage. - You use 30 rage for bloodthirst at 2k ap = 900 dmg - You dump 30 rage for Execute = 600 dmg (execute base) + (20 rage x 15 dmg) = 900 dmg - Total amount of damage = 900 dmg + 900 dmg = 1800 damage for 60 rage. This doesn't consider the extra rage generate by bloodthirst on hit. Execute (as much as I know) doesn't generate rage on hit. Now let's see the other spectrum: - You dump your 60 rage with Execute = 600 damage (execute base) + (50 rage x 15 dmg) = 1350 dmg For the same amount of rage spend, Bloodthirst + Execute will produce more dmg than Execute only: 1800 dmg vs 1350 dmg. We can do the same calculation with 100 rage, it will always producer more dmg to use Bloodthirst + Execute for the same amount of rage. The only difference that I see is that Bloodthirst + Execute means 2 global cooldowns vs Execute only. By timing damage cooldown beforehand, I think this rotation would maximize the DPS. As of Heroic Strike + Execute, I'm sure we could come to the same conclusion, but I need to do more research to understand it. You thoughts?

Unfortunately on execute phase I've had to stop attacking for 2-3 secs at times as TPS issues, which hurts my dps against vanishing rogues. Our MT said will be better once he gets TF. He's deep prot, would it be better for a fury port to tank Vael?

This in returns allows me cause of being threathcapped, to dps way harder.

As an alliance you'd prefer a fast MH and a slow OH - if you have two of the same weaps (same speed) your heroic strike attacks will be synced so they hit at the same time aka - you can only do one heroic strike pr. 2.9 secs (if you have 2x 2.9 speed r14 swords for instance) where as for horde you have wf to make them out of sync. Also because of Heroic strike queue thingy you have higher chance to hit with offhand attacks therefore the slow weap speed will be better - but in the end having a fast OH will also give you more rage in execute phase so it more or less balances out tbh. Hey bud, Thanks for watching - hope you enjoyed. The only boss where I "cheat" is Razorgore - as you can see in my run I dont use diamond flask nor recklessness. But if you want a 99 on razorgore thats what it takes hence why I mention it. On the remaining bosses you'll only be missing diamond flask for Flamegor - the rest of the bosses have a decent "distance" between them if you do a ~55-60 minute run like we do. On Broodlord I usually pop my flask immediately so I have it up for Firemaw - our "normal" runs are 50-50 mains and alts so very chill and no rushing. Also if you want to do a parse run you can actually kill a boss - all log out and wait those 5-6 mins and then log in again and your cd's will be gone.
