I can't believe they forgot that they already reacted to this band 4 months ago, with "So into you". For a great band you haven't covered yet, I recommend one of the 60's most memorable bands, The Union Gap. "Young Girl" was their biggest hit.

Mylon LeFevre was lead vocals on Imaginary Lover and So Into You. I don’t know if he did any other vocals for them or not. He went on to sing gospel after his stint with ARS. RIP Mylon Lefevre. Died Sept. 8, 2023 of cancer.

You need to check out the Classic IV. Two of ARS members were original members of the band. The sound is similar. Spooky, Traces, Sunny and Stormy are some of their hits.

Great reaction. It doesn’t take much imagination to figure out what this tune is really about. 🤭 At the time word got around that a radio deejay somewhere in the Midwest accidentally played the album version (33 1/3 RPM) at single speed (45 RPM) - faster, obviously -and the listening audience thought it was Fleetwood Mac (Stevie on vocals) !!! I had the album, tried it, and ….TRUE! Wild! I recorded it on cassette and played it for years!! I wish there was someway you two could hear it!!

Great band from the 70’s. They hosted concerts at Georgia Tech’s Grant Field in 1978 and 1979 called The Champaign Jam. (Named for their song, you’d luv it). I attended the 79 concert. Twelve hours, six bands for $25.00. (25 bucks went a long ways in those days) Line up included Aerosmith, the Cars, A R S and Mother’s Finest ( To me, they stole the show!) Check out Champaign Jam next, great song.

OMG! You have got to check out So Into You, Georgia Rhythm, Doraville (which is an Atlanta suburb) Champagne Jam. They had so many hits and such a wide variety of ‘Southern’ rock. They’re from Georgia. Back in the 70s, the hosted a huge New Year’s Eve party called The Champagne Jam. It was THE place to be, kind of like Atlanta’s version of the Times Square party.

"Spooky" was pretty popular too. It was originally done by Classics IV whom, from what I understand contained some members of ARS. The Classics IV version is cool but the Atlanta Rhythm Section version has more kickass harmonizing guitar leads and a cooler vibe.😎

ARS has some of the nastiest, dirtiest, grungiest guitar playing...in a totally great way, that i can recall coming out of the 70's! I'm actually surprised it took this long for you guys to react to them. They were a strong staple in the 70's and could always find their music on radios and juke boxes.

Great choice -- ARS was one of the finest American bands of the late '70s, with a smooth touch of southern blues-infused rock and pop. As others have suggested, next up should be their other Top 10 hit, "So Into You," with a tasty touch of funk. There's also their cover of the '60s hit "Spooky," plus the boogie tunes "Champagne Jam" and "Alien," and the acoustic ballad "Do It Or Die."

Southern Rock, disco style. I remember hearing this, and So Into You when we'd go to a disco. I saw these guys back in the 70s several times. Once in a little bar, which was probably my favorite performance by them. They would stretch their songs out live, and let the guitarists jam. One of my favorite all time concerts was seeing these guys and Wet Willie. Both bands are so much better live. Check out their song, Another Man's Woman. It's a long jam with a badass bass solo in it.

Being from Atlanta, Atlanta rhythm section was huge in these parts! Next song you need to react to is “So Into You”. Everybody would sing this when it came on the radio. And the decade of the 70s had some of the greatest music with all genres making the charts.

This song brings back great memories of my 1st concert. It was Summer Jam 78 at the Providence Civic Center in Providence RI. The lineup was Foghat, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Sweet and ARS. You wouldn't think they would fit into that lineup but they absolutely di d. Just an amazing first concert and I would be remissed not to mention it was on my 16 birthday!

When I was a kid growing up in Tennessee in the late 70s, ARS were huge second only to Skynyrd. ARS had a groove that, well all Southern rock (isn't all rock Southern in origin?) has a groove but Atlanta Rhythm Section had a groove that was sultrier and sleeker than their contemporaries. I am so glad ya'll liked it and would encourage ya'll to check out "So Into You" or "Champagne Jam".

Great song, great band! One of my faves by them. This song makes me think of a long day at work, you stop off at a bar on the way home, there’s practically nobody in the place, Imaginary Lover is playing on the juke box, you order a bourbon, you call your wife to come join you, she says she’ll be right there, you then notice an attractive woman on the other side of the bar checking you out, you both smile at each other, you’re thinking you still got it, then your wife strolls right up next to you and gives you the biggest hug and kiss, you happen to look across the bar, and the woman is gone, but you don’t care because you realize how good you have it. ✌️
