Jackie is one of the best singer entertainers in history. Helped Berry Gordy start MOTOWN records. He was born in Detroit and is in my top 5 singers of all time. A real star.

love the old "variety" tv shows ... in the 1950's and 60's there were so many of them, and this is a form of television that doesn't exist any more

You know, Cyn, one of the things I enjoy about your reactions and your channel is that you are not afraid to branch out and react to artists and songs that others are shying away from, so kudos to you!! Jackie Wilson was a treasure and it has been far too many years since I have heard this great song!! Here are a few more for you to add to your list when you find the time! "Battle of Evermore" by Heart, 1995. "The Guitar Man" by Bread. "Life During Wartime" from the Talking Heads from Stop Making Sense film. "The Weight" from the Band with The Staples from The Last Waltz film. "Friends of Mr. Cairo" from Jon and Vangelis. "Lonesome Mary" from Chilliwack. "Signs" from The Five Man Electrical Band. "That's The Way I Always Heard It Should Be" from Carly Simon. "One Less Bell To Answer" from Fifth Dimension. "Hi-D-Ho" from Blood Sweat and Tears! Keep up the great work with your reactions!!

Hi, when Elvis sang Return to Sender, they say Jackie Wilson was watching the scene, and even gave Elvis a few dance moves.
@PutOnASweater
@PutOnASweater 3 жыл бұрын
Never happened. ..."Girls,Girls,Girls", came out in 1962...Jackie and Elvis did not meet until 1966. The rumor that Jackie was there when Elvis performed Return to Sender for that movie are false, yet they keep getting reposted over and over and that's why you see it everywhere.

@@PutOnASweaterI think Elvis first saw Jackie in the mid to late fifty’s because in the “million dollar quartet “when describing the performance he said “ a member of wards dominoes” which is believed to be Jackie Wilson he is referring to so that’s probably what he’s talking about

Hello, my dear... I truly love and appreciate your openness and enthusiasm for so many types and genres of music. Now you came across a music style that I never saw you react to before : Doo-Wop (very popular in the 50s !) Jackie Wilson was well known for his unique voice and for his dance- and stage performances. Although in my opinion there are better songs than this one.... his best known song is "Reet Petite", try this one, if you are interested. Okay, my dear, here is to your next one ! Hugs and kisses from your friend Gerry

@Trevon Womack cute. While I am certainly aware of the all the idiotic segregation that existed in this society within the music industry along with music being influenced by all other music, in this case I will refer to Jackie Wilson. Someone you obviously know little about. "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man's music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis."-Jackie Wilson Hopefully you can take it up with Jackie Wilson someday. People beg, borrow and steal from each other across all of music. Elvis and Jackie both took from one another and both enjoyed it. And I'm not a big Elvis fan.

@Trevon Womack and also, Jackie Wilson was coached by Clyde McPhatter, the singer in the Dominoes before Wilson and the Dominoes had a lot more success with Clyde as the singer. So props to Clyde McPhatter, one of the great tenors.

@@randybaker6042 🤣🤣🤣 Nobody was copying Elvis! He would not have even have had a music career if he hadn't stolen Black people's music and style. What made him successful was the fact that he was white and America is a racist country. ALL GENRES of American music were created by Black Americans. I learned that from my white music teacher!
