Used your guide today. Got my HM Tauren Druid to 40 (which I had been leveling before I saw this video last week) and only managed to get to 153 Fishing before it began. I was 170 by the end and I got my ring! May try it other weeks for the pole and boots, but the ring was the goal for me.

I had not played WoW in 2 years and my 1st weekend back, I got it (5/4/24). Only had the fishing hat and a pole (max fishing). I play on Stormrage which is loaded with people. I only went to 2 places to fish. Started Northern Strang by Venture Co Base Camp, went north to Nesi expeditions. That was it, just flew between those areas and fought off other people fishing. Make sure to set your hearth to Booty Bay, as you will lose trying to fly back from there.

I done this a few years back it's tough. I don't believe it's based on low pop realm since they did server sharding. It's region based so first 50 players on region can win the prize. Better to make a class trial on an OCE or whatever low size region server and start with a class trial druid for the instant flight cast to move quickly. For sure try to use the High Mountain Tauren the racial can give you the edge to win. I wouldn't recommend war mode. To almost win or have all the fish just to get ganked sucks.

TRUTH! Yeah I 100% wouldn't have won without being a Highmountain Tauren due to my lower fishing skill level, you can win it as any race but it certainly helps as a big bull ;) Glad you liked the video

Can you equip this ring won from the fishing as well as one of the shipyard heirloom rings at the same time ? I know you can not equip 2 shipyard rings at the same time.. if i can equip 2 rings at once i'll do the fishing extravaganza.

Yes you can equip Dread Pirate and Shipyard one too

@@michaelabbott8431 No, not even normal fishing, in fact i have no idea of something make you fish quicker, only to get higher chances of better loot, which you gain increasing fishing Skills with bait, line and fishing gear

I did it! One shot. so ez. All thanks to you Dr Erosium. might have to sign up for your patreon later haha I did all the work in the lead up to i though. New Highmountain Druid on a low pop realm, I did it in Oceanic instead of US as well. Maxed out my level and fishing level, walker walking was handy, had all the enchanted gear for speed and everything even though i could shapeshift lol. I proc'd the racial for extra fish twice. I beat another druid by half a second, I think he stopped to read all the items as well, instead of just clicking the ring and finishing the quest. The contest started a minute late for me, so I was getting worried it wasn't going to start, I missed it like 4 weeks in a row for different reasons.

Lost my first contest today I guess this guide only works for taurens lol thx dude. Btw server was pack. I was in pvp mode and druids were already killing me before the contest even started. So I turned it off and everyone was there, I got discourage 😂 I lost by 1 fish away like how you win this without choosing a Tauren

I was wondering when 2 o’clock hits if you can be anywhere in Stranglethorn ready to claim your spot because my dumb @$$, was at booty bay waiting to hear the announcement 📢 from the lil goblin to confirm the start of the tournament and I feel that delayed me for a good 15-30 seconds to even a whole minute if anything from the rest that had more experience.
