At it's best? Surely it would be at its best if there were 50's & 37s in abundance. What about the hydraulics now they were something special, many happy memories of holidays at Dawlish Warren with wall to wall hydraulics. It's a nice little film Mike, well done 😃

Don't bother going it's not that good looks good on film but not good to visit
@Timcot244 жыл бұрын
They run the trains on the wrong line for 2 reasons, 1. The main one is to to allow a fast train to pass stopping local trains as you say. I've been on the local train when this has happened, I should have waited at Exeter SD and got the later faster train . (Usually, the local train will wait to be passed at the Dawlish Warren loops.) 2. If the weather is bad and the waves are coming over the track, they will close the down line, which is on the seaward side and run on the bi-directional up line. Thanks for the video.

Sorry to confuse you. Your title said Dawlish Warren, I was talking about Dawlish Warren beach where a child died, trying to warn people of the potential danger the beach poses. You showed part of the beach at the beginning of the film and I was unaware that any comment had to be regarding a train, my apologies.

Hello from Pennsylvania. Your kidding of course! Not even in England, a country of funny place names, is there really a town called Dawlish Warren! Silliness aside, what a beautiful piece of railroad along the seaside. I asked you for beautiful English countryside and did you deliver with this video!! Many thanks. And what train is that beautiful maroon super-luxurious one? Very nice indeed. Thanks again. Fine job. CAS

I live in Devon and have visited Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. What I remember most is dog mess. Even at the height of the summer dogs are allowed on the beach. One decided to go to the toilet a couple of inches from the towel we were sitting on. Some years ago a schoolgirl died after being on the beach, the cause of death was bacteria from dog mess. There are some beautiful towns in Devon, avoid Dawlish.
@antman09ful15 жыл бұрын
What has dog mess got to do with my video of train. ??? I do understand where you are coming from about this terrible problem we have with so people who own dogs, I am a dog owner and I really get piss off that poeople do not pick it up after there dog. I say don't have a dog if you are not prepared to pick it up.

Why 2x66 for a few coaches. Any ideas?
@antman09ful14 жыл бұрын
Because it was a tour going From Scotland to different parts of the country, and it cuts out having to run round the train, plus when the train goes into siding at night. Americans pay big money to travel on this train.
