The round picture with the birds on it is a chimney flue cover. People used to remove their pot belly stoves in the warm months and cover the hole in the chimney with these. Yours is a fancier one, the more common one look like a bottom painted paper plate. Their are collectors of these.

Jocelyn, I have a question for you and Andrew. Is there a possibility if you all could maybe do an updated video teaching us about the marks on the bottom of pieces found while thrifting? I am NOT a reseller but since watching your videos I LOVE going to Goodwill and other thrift/antique stores and I never remember what marks are good or bad, other than Japan/Nippon 🤣. I love your videos and would love to have a reference to look to! I’ve tried following others and I do learn from Real Nifty Vintage and Antique Nomad, but not one has a reference video! Please, you guys are so good at this!

I used to collect restaurantware. I bought more by the (pretty to me) pattern or size/shape than the manufacturer. I've run out of room, so i don't buy as much. I do use it everyday though.

The Fenton or not candle bowl cute. Now let's discuss the hobnail pitcher w 6 matching glasses. Holy crap I bout lost it and would have gladly taken that off your or the stores hands. The blue color so I'm rite now but always a love to me. Blue green or pink. My mother's mom left me pink depression glass so that's how I got into the pink. Mixed all around my house with the green blue looks good. When I add to my dining room which is brown glass (end of day mostly) it really stands out. It's growing on me.

The egg coddlers sell pretty well (I didn’t know what they were til last year when a subscriber told me lol!) I’ve sold a few. No major profits but reliable item to sell. Hahaha! I just bought a canister for my oats lol. Not vintage and it doesn’t say oatmeal but that’s what it’s for lol.

I am always on quest to find tea/coffee cups and saucers with a month on each item. I have managed to find my birthday month and both my sister's birthday month which I gave to them. Along with an extra month ( December) that I purchased and kept to collect. Very rare to come upon. I go to estate sales, flea market and thrift stores. Do you see 👀 them often?

I just looked up the Royal Haeger "Western Prospector w/Burros" circa 1950's and it came up with an asking price on Ebay for $70. So you could get it there for less. Looked exactly like the one in the case.

I have several boxes of restaurantware. I used to collect it obsessively and have to disagree about the air brushed patterns. The curlicue, scroll-like patterns are much more common than figures or anything representational, at least in what I've seen, and own. Now certain landscape patterns would probably sell really well, (at least they used to), but I always loved the scrolls. So much more interesting than boring stripes. More vintage too, I think.

When I search by “Jackson China” SOLD listings on eBay, sorted highest to lowest-it’s pieces with airbrushed fish that seem to sell for the most money. Granted, this is just Jackson China and I understand there are lots of companies that produce restaurant ware. I also see cowboys and lobsters selling well from other companies. When I look at items, I like to look at selling patterns and what of that particular items sells for the most money. I did see that some forest landscape plates sell for good money.

@@CrazyLampLady Yes that's the way I remember it. I must have misunderstood what you said, because it sounded to me like you were saying the scrolly patterns were less common, not less valuable, than the ones you were talking about above, and that was not the case in my experience. I used to see some asian -looking landscapes on ebay that I craved, but alas were far too expensive for me. Most of my restaurant China was bought in second hand stores, anyway. Even then ebay shipping for heavy China was exhorbitant.

you often talk about how costly it is to ship lamps now days..i know USPS is always raising rates, and they are high on heavy items...you never mention using FEDEX ground..i use them often for heavy items and their costs are WAY cheaper than USPS . less then half usually..i live one mile from my USPS, so its easy for me to do same day ship ...but when i use fedex i must drive a 60 mile round trip..i live way out in the country ....but i do it whenever it will save the buyer half the cost to ship

Back in the 80’s, Green Crazy Dailey were my family’s dishes..service for 8 & I had it all! Even had the casserole dished & mixing bowls...sold it all in a garage sale. 😳 I really like this store...love the retro! I would have definitely purchased some of the glasses, especially the sets that had the little caddy. Why does the paint rub off when used in a dishwasher?

Debbie VanHorn the detergent is too abrasive / harsh for delicate objects especially with hand painting, gold or silver trim, fine china etc.

Wow. Yesterday I thought: I want an original Sputnik and today it fell into my lap. The coat rack by Osvaldo Borsani. He did a version for Ikea. I didn't take it a few weeks ago. Regret. On the web I saw that there was an original atomic / space age version. That's a better buy. And there it was. Missing a pen. Easiest repair ever. The vintage gods are with me.
