I’ve got to admit… Le Mans Ultimate is really growing on me. Sure, I’ve had some disasters in my early LMU multiplayer races. But today, I’ve had a brilliant one.
I feared the worst, coming back to Monza so soon after my last Le Mans Ultimate online race here. After all, the chances of surviving two Monza races are very slim! But I was lucky to land in a very fair and respectful grid… the battles here were sensational.

Honestly Chris. Theres no one doing it better than you right now. I've been watching Sim Racing Vids Since day 1 and your vids are of a golden format. your vids are the most exciting, best commentary and use of real time replay is fantastic. went straight to the comments when you said Gurkin in a right pickle haha! I'll also agree! Chris, you make the best sim racing videos out there, in my opinion. I wonder if there's a market out there for you to make videos for other leagues, and between the payment and the KZbin income, make this your job. That is... if it's something you enjoy enough to want to do that.

I made it into one of your videos (P4). Shocking behaviour from Vincent Simon deliberately taking out someone in front of me. Unsurprisingly, his SR was a big "0" Thanks to him, i had to race the last 10 minutes with broken steering. I was happy for P4. LMP2 are good fun.

Ahh mate, glad you made it into a vid, but a shame it wasn’t under better circumstances! Thought you did really well to save it, but really unfortunate to pick up damage. Makes P4 even more of an achievement. Still don’t know what he was doing… was he looking at you in his mirror rather than the track ahead? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Or from the sounds of it, maybe he was just a general menace. I didn’t show it in the replay, but he kept trying to rejoin at Ascari and eventually took out a backmarker too.

Look good, sound good, fixed setups and easy to drive! Which does make it a decent option for hopping into an occasional race without being too far off the pace. I’ve enjoyed my last few races in it, I must admit.

What a mix of driving standards. As much as I was cheering you on, I'm glad Vac was rewarded for such fair driving. However, that weaving has to be some of the worst driving I've seen.

The weaving was appalling. And it looked to be a clearly deliberate punt exiting the corner too… forcing him into the gravel on purpose. But yeah, Vac was a class act. Was a pleasure battling him, and even I didn’t begrudge him P6 in the end!

I think that may have been the cleanest L1T1 I've ever seen at Monza☺️ Where u got passed in Lesmo 1 & 2 reminded me of in a MotoGP Junior race @ Misano this year when Casey O'Gorman hesitated to not run into another rider & immediately lost 5 positions🥺 10:55 if him changing lines multiple times in the breaking zone wasn't bad enough, it looked like he intentionally ran the guy off the road 😡 not just not left enough room 🤨

Yeah that was really poor from Gibson. I hate that Lesmo 2 corner, I’m never comfortable through there, and it’s just typical I make a bodge of it on the last lap. Vac was a great opponent though, so I don’t begrudge him P6. Still really enjoyed this one. Cheers

Thank you, yeah being more attacking comes with confidence for me. And although I haven’t driven much in LMU, I find the cars are a bit easier to handle than in other sims. Which gives me the confidence to push a bit more. Cheers!

Glad you saw the good side of LMU , not to rain on VAC's sportsmanship but if you cut the track and gain a position the LMU penalty system will order you to give the position back and you only have a few seconds to do it , the physics and penalty system of LMU make you pay for mistakes and ill-advised lunges that's why it has become my #1 Sim , so refreshing to get away from the dive-bombing idiots of ACC and the downright dirty drivers of GT7

Ahhhh does it? Well that explains it then 🤣 I’ve only seen the +0.50secs messages pop up so far when I’ve abused track limits… didn’t realise the game enforced giving back positions too. That’s a nice touch. One of my most enjoyable races of the year so far, this one. LMU has definitely won me over as a place to easily hop in and find a decent race.

Great race but how did you manage to get so many of the same car on the grid? I seem to only be racing against 12.

I’ve done 3-4 races recently and they’ve been pretty consistent for having 18 on the grid. Maybe you’ve just been unlucky with entry numbers? This race was Friday afternoon UK time, and it was Split 3 of 10… so participation was certainly high then. The only other thing I can think of, is that maybe grids are kept smaller in the lower splits? I think the first couple of races I did were grids of 12. So maybe you’ll see bigger grids after a couple more races🤞

How do you capture replays Chris? I didn't think they were available in game?

Hey Tim, yeah, you can’t view them in-game yet, but there is a workaround hack. It involves opening the localhost URL in a browser while the game is running, and loading it from there (replay files are auto-saved in your LMU User Data folder). I followed a guide by @roy_33nl36 on his KZbin channel… it’s a bit complicated to operate with no visible HUD on screen, but you can bind keys to change cameras, fast forward, rewind etc. Check out Roy’s video from a month or so ago 👍

How is the player count at LMU? Is possible to have relatively full lobbies at any time?

Participation seems to be pretty good. This race I did was mid-afternoon UK time, and it was Split 3 of 10. So around 200 entries. It looks like they limit the grid sizes to 18-20 for these beginners’ races. Not sure about the Silver and Gold races, maybe they have bigger grids.
