I played mage during Vanilla and TBC and a bit of WoTLK. Called warlocks the magekillers. Rerolled to lock and in the beginning of Legion changed back to my mage. What a misstake. Haha

Warlocks would always smash mage in vanilla. I played warlock on a vanilla server where your only weakness was the pet you had out. Never truly felt like so much of an in game god before :D but yeah cobrak is probably my 2nd most viewed wow u tuber after preach love watching this guy play his class so well during a time all w locks are rerolling(mainly for pve) but cobs just throwing bids out. Good game

I know, right. He's a very good warlock player, and also my favourite. I unfortunately fell into the massive pool of huntards, which is the only class in which I'm barely even competitive in PvP at the moment. But I used to be a gladiator warlock in Wrath of the Lich King, before my arena teammate passed away. And her playstyle was very simmilar to how Cob plays, so he always bring back some good memories. And reason why I enjoy his content a lot. ;)

Pretty much what Conversion said, shields are the warlock's primary defense mechanism so they have to be stronger than the shields of the mage who's primary defense is mobility and trying not to get hit in the first place. This is also why warlock shields can't be dispelled but mage shields can, which admittedly could be why your shield gets burned so fast. One dispel or spellsteal and it's gone unless it was changed between WoD and legion.

What Lystrad said. Where has you get your ice barrier, thousands of blinks and slows / roots, warlocks get a big ass shield and shitty mobility. It's all pretty even.

Yeah man, the blood, sweat and tears need to be there. I wasn't sure of my stance on the whole "ease of life" WoW versus the old grindy "work your ass off" WoW, but I've been spending some quality time on a TBC private server, and man, it feels great. When's the last time professions actually mattered? Every hit has so much more weight to it too, and crits actually feel like crits. And the community is so much better (though a lot smaller) because you actually need other people, it's not just an online solo game. End rant
