I'm loving the utility so far. I'm only 64 as enhancement, but I'm doing competitive damage, supporting with totems, off-healing when things get crazy, healing when the healer dies and then resurrecting them, using my ankhs for wipe recovery in dungeons...just really feel like my kit gives me tons of versatility.. and I don't even have bloodlust, yet!

If you are a Jewelcrafter the best red gem should be the Crimson Sun since it provides 24AP flat which is higher than the purple rarity red gem counting also the BoK from your paladin. (10 strength + 1strength from BoK which converts into 22 AP at most).

Always funny no one speaks about the Tauren's hidden racial skill: Greater reach. Being able to hit striders on Vashj or hit Lurker without getting knocked by his whirlwind is great (plus if you're a warrior it applies to cleave's reach too)

The inspiring presence might not help other melee dps, but if you find yourself in a tank group it does have the benefit of giving the tank spell hit . Especially if that tank is a paladin.

You actually cannot keep your profession only benefits after you drop the profession, for example if you enchant your rings and then drop enchanting you will not benefit from the enchant anymore.

Unleashed Rage is 10%. At least that’s what the talent says, as well as the tool tip when it’s proc’d. Not sure if it was 6% before in original TBC as I mained Warlock but currently it’s 10% attack power. So on top of giving the entire group HUGE buffs via totems, a HUGE haste buff via bloodlust, I’m also giving all melee 10% more attack power, and I’m still doing a shit ton of personal dps myself. If you take into account a classes entire kit no spec/class in the entire game increases a raids dps more than Shaman. It’s not even close. I been leveling with a Prot Warrior in dungeons. I said dude you should be thanking me. I’m giving you a shit ton more str/AP, I’m giving you more crit, I’m giving you windfury, I got tremor totem/disease/poison totem, and soon I’ll also be giving you bloodlust. For a dungeon partner would better class/spec could a prot warrior ask for? I’m pretty sure I buff his damage/threat by myself more than any other 3 DPS would combined. I wish I had a pocket enhance sham to dungeon level with on my tank.

Really good guide, but 2 things I have to mention: 1st The expertise cap for dodge is 6.5% not 5.6% so it’s 26 not 23 expertise, 2nd you completely missed the BiS weapon already available in classic: Dualwielding Annihilator!

Enhancement rotation is stupidly simple…Placing things on hotbars doesn’t matter. Keybinds are different for everyone. You shouldn’t be clicking things. What works best for you as far as keybinds is for you to figure out. It doesn’t matter where you place it on your hotbar as you can make any spot any keybind you want. The rotation is simple. Totem twist windfury/goa totem if in a melle in group. If not just keep down goa. Totems you keep down are strength of earth, mana spring, grace of air, best fire totem depending on situation. Totem twisting windfury with goa if another melee dps in group. Rotation is keep up flame shock, stormstrike on cooldown, earth shock when flame shock doesn’t need refreshed, use shamanistic rage when need mana back, keep totems maintained, keep weapon imbues maintained, keep water shield up. Literally states the rotation in the guide and it’s so simple idk how you would have issues just off basic tool tip reading. Other than maintaining totems and twisting our actual damage rotation is mostly auto attacks with storm strike and two shocks…In aoe you can totem twist fire nova and magma totem as well. If you’re in a dungeon with a pally tank and two caster dps plus healer and the healer isn’t another shaman you can drop wrath of air totem instead of grace of air.

Is the WF mainhand/Flametongue offhand a leveling thing? I'm in this situation where I went Blacksmithing to get Dragonmaw, and finding a good 2.7 speed off-hand weapon is kinda ass. When the best option out there is Fist of Reckoning (like, a 50dps BoE blue), it just feels super bad and weak, and a lot of micro-ing to get the swings sync'd properly. So atm I'm using a Fel Edged Battleaxe (2.2 speed). Is this a case where I should be putting Flametongue on my offhand? What about when I get a slower, but still not matching speed off-hand like Harvester of Souls (2.6 speed)? Should I try to go for 2.6 speed weapons and drop Dragonmaw for Decap + Harvester until a good 2.7 speed off hand becomes available (looking at Rod of the Sun King off KT). Or is rocking Dragonmaw and Fist of Reckoning just *better* than the 2.6 speed options? Thanks in advance!

Hi. On the shaman DC server many people believe the enhancement + elemental devastation talent build would be the best. Arguments are more personal DPS and totem twisting not really being a thing in TBC. What do you think about this? The Resto subspec seems way more fitting and impactful to me, but what do I know

In patch 2.4.0 neither vortexes became available to purchase for 15 badges of justice and we are getting 2.4.3. While all of you are going to be forced in to leather working to raid I will be spamming heroics for badges of justice to craft stormhearld. I'm 300 blacksmithing/ I won't be going leather working I'll be pvping.

Its looking like Blizzard will be very selectively nerfing certain items by having some be based on early patches and others from the last patch (like everything else). So Blacksmithing creates ONLY Main-Hand weapons until a Much later phase. So if anyone is planning on focusing Blacksmithing for both the weapons, like i was, you are shit out of luck.

The current theory is yes, marginally. But in reality, it's all going to depend on how we observe the proc to function on live. Also, you can expect much more sophisticated sims this time around, which will help us determine the best approach. tl;dr we'll have to wait and see

Yes, 100%. None of the BoP LW sets are BiS in Phase 1 (T4), but in some set ups, the goggles are. However, goggles were initially introduced in 2.1, so whether they come out on launch or in a later content patch is a toss up.

Is it right to say that twisting loses out on our personal damage, when in reality, if we DON'T twist, we don't get GoA at all if we're in a group that needs WF totem. Or are you referring to the fact that we have to talent resto instead of ele? Or are you assuming we would be in a hunter group?

Correct, unless you are normally in a hunter group. If not, it's also a loss bc you will likely clip your shock/SS rotation

Ran into lots of enhancement shaman while leveling my paladin and druid on Endless (private server), their kill speed was pretty damned good moving mob to mob killing one thing at a time, virtually zero downtime even in what would only be boe blues and ilevel 65ish greens. For questing, it's a top-notch spec, but maybe slightly slower overall than a like a feral druid, or aoe paladin but still very very fast. Faster killer and impressive compared to retribution.

i started to play enhanement in wotlk and ever since. but trying out tbc enhancement during the beta isnt for me. totem twising too annoying, 4 gcds totem set sup, no maelstrom lightning bolts meaning literally 3 button rotation and shamanistic rage too long of a cd to sustain. its so close to being playable but its so disappointing to be just a wf totem and bloodlust guy. i tried enhancement with bis sunwell gear on a private server and only then the damage is pretty amazing and sustainable mana wise. ill maybe give enhancement a go in phase 4 or so but not earlier.
