One of the things I learned growing up was specific devotions like to the five wounds of Christ, or the Holy Name( people blaspheme so much and use Gods name in vain how can you do this if you believe in Gods love?) We had stations of the cross which contemplate the way if Jesus to the cross. Those things helped me understand exactly what He did for us.

In the troubled times of today, more than ever we need to ask ourselves: Did Jesus leave instructions on how we can enter or obtain the Kingdom of Heaven? If we take the time to study his various sermons and statements do they provide us insight on how to live to do this? Specifically, did he give us guidance to provide us with a code of conduct that will allow us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? If so, can we as human souls live a life of love as Jesus appears to have commanded? In the following I explain why the “love” Jesus spoke of is “unconditional love” and why it is necessary for all Christians to live as Jesus commanded. Which is: living with unconditional love towards others. This "Christen love" by its definition includes non-judgment towards others and service to others, without discrimination and without exception. This was the “New Commandment” Jesus taught to everyone that would listen. Jesus taught: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (John 13:34.) Jesus laid down his life for humanity. This teaching accumulated along with the many instances in which Jesus taught that “God is Love '' and the behavior Jesus based his life upon, ending with his crucifixion, and ascension into Heaven. For example Jesus tried to explain the true qualities of God when he taught: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (1 John 4:8.); God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:16.); Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. (1 John 4:7.); But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (Galatians 5:22). There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18.) The “Perfect Love” Jesus taught was most assuredly “unconditional love.” God being the personification of “unconditional love.” My own position in regard to God being “unconditional love” is that in reality there exists only one form of genuine love, which is love without conditions or what we term as “unconditional love.” All else which humans declare is “love” is not truly love but simply aspects of attraction, friendship or even sexual lust. This quality of “unconditional love” is mentioned as above but also can be seen when Jesus told people: “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:43-44). Such a “love” can only be accurately classified as unconditional love. This “New Commandment” was not an idle or incidental teaching, but a necessary way of living life and an essential aspect of what Jesus expected of people to live each day. That anyone who desires to enter the Kingdom of Heaven is required to live a life of unconditional love. Accordingly, in these teachings, Jesus clearly told us to emulate his behavior and live our lives as we saw him living his own life. For example, Jesus told his disciples, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. (Matthew 16:24.) And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. (Mark 8:34.) And he said to all, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. (Luke 9:23.) According to these teachings and the free will of humans, we each are presented with the choice to live “unconditional love” and in doing so spiritually evolve to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, or to turn away from unconditional love and choose the “world” as opposed to Heaven. This all is unfortunate as many Christians are aware of these teachings of the Christ yet believe they do not apply to common Christians that follow Jesus. Even preachers have said these apply only to his disciples when Jesus was alive. Yet, I vehemently disagree. It has been made clear by what Jesus told us that he wanted all of his followers to live a life of unconditional love. It is possible and once tried, it’s not that difficult. In fact, it becomes easy. Jesus told us plainly, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matt: 11:28-30.)

Respectfully I’ve learned through much biblical study and prayer, that God saw nothing in us at all but filth and rebellion. He did love us so much that He did die for us (John 3:16). But it was because He knew that we could not save ourselves from our sin and rebellion. The Bible tells us that Christ died for the sins of MANY, not all. It also tells us that He died for ALL that would COME to Him in repentance and belief. Don’t believe the lie that He died for everyone past, present and future. He did come for us and died for us but it was specifically for the ones that would humbly come to Him. We have nothing to offer Him nor will we ever. So many professed followers of Christ are false converts because they believe that as long as they prayed a 30 second prayer in church, that God has welcomed them into the Jesus club. Many don’t know the true Jesus because they haven’t read His word and more importantly, followed His commands. This wasn’t meant to discourage you in any way but I want people who claim to know Him, to please test yourselves as Paul tells us. Jesus told His disciples that people honor Him with their lips but their hearts are far from Him. Strive to KNOW Him in the way He commands. God bless you.

WOW this was powerful! I have never heard this explained in this way. I know a lot of people have no idea what awaits them after this cruel world we live in comes to an end..........our carnel minds cannot fathom it! I believe the soldiers that God forknew would fight for His kingdom are being stirred up now. As we know these are the last days, I feel the world will look so vastly different than it does now. All the time we have been living our lives, being obediant, molded, taught, even chastised, we are getting ready for THAT day! It is not the easiest life to live but it is God's plan for us. We have such a reward waiting for us that all the horrors of this life will not compare to it. Personally I don't think we will have a memory of this time and I am good with that. I want to be in heaven with our Father who is so full of love, who IS LOVE!! God bless us all to finish the race for God's glory

I do not want to forget this life at all. Otherwise, I will not exist anymore. I'd be an empty shell, a blank slate, I would not be ME in Heaven. I want to remember who I was, where I came from, and what happened in my earthly life. Without that, we aren't ourselves. Despite all the troubles in the world, there is so much beauty and goodness and joy to be found, if you look for it.
