Awesome on the farthing. I just found on 11/19/16 in Est Hampton, CT, 9" down a King William III copper farthing dated 1700. I did not even know what a farthing was until 10 days ago. I have it posted. Thanks for another great video. Keep them coming. Best of luck.

Strange find for that area. From the 17th to the early 19th century in England these were commonly issued by merchants in times of acute shortage of coins of the state to enable trading activities to proceed. The token was in effect a pledge redeemable in goods but not necessarily for currency. These tokens never received official sanction from government but were accepted and circulated quite widely. Tokens would also normally indicate the merchant concerned, either by name or by picture. Thousands of towns and merchants issued these tokens between 1648 and 1672, when official production of farthings resumed and private production was suppressed.

Do it man it’s worth every cent, it can get very frustrating with all the trash but once you start finding stuff it makes it worthwhile. I started off with a Garrett ace 300 and I highly recommend it, I’m now using a Garrett AT PRO and glad I made that investment, had it for 2 years now and it paid itself off in the first year. Just beware that it is addictive for most ppl

Astounding find; well done chaps. I assume that's not a Dorchester, UK coin, more likely from the US (Boston) town established in 1630? The SC 'Dorchester' settlement came much later, yes? Mindboggling that rare, small, frail coin survived to be discovered.

That is a braided ring. They were found on shipwrecks off the northern coast of England from around the late 17th or early 18th century. Probably more recent than that. I have actually made a couple of these myself.
