They write and produce their music. 3racha unit (Chan, Changbin, Han) produces all their songs, sometimes in collab with others. All of them write lyrics to various degrees, some whole songs, some parts. Atm Chan is credited for 180 songs, making him the 3rd most credited kpop idol and the youngest in top10.

Skz has a lot of really hype title tracks but they explore a lot of different genres in their albums, including ones that they pioneered themselves. Their albums tend to come in sets - the I am series (I am not, I am who, I am you) which explores personal identity crisis and the difficulties of growing up, the clé series (clé 1: miroh, clé 2: yellow wood, clé: levanter) talks about forcing oneself to be someone you're not under the illusion of self improvement. The next series I tend to think of as a korean wordplay series - go生 (romanised go saeng, in english go live) and in生 (romanised in saeng, in english in life). The Chinese character 生 (saeng) means life, while the Korean word 고생 (gosaeng) means hardship and 인생 (insaeng) means life. These albums are about fighting to overcome struggles, appreciating oneself and letting yourself travel at your own pace without considering what others think of you. Next is the series I think of as english wordplay - noeasy (a play on not easy and noisy) which was directed at haters who called stray kids' music 'noise music' after gods menu, oddinary (odd + ordinary) which embraces one's differences and tells us that it is normal to feel out of place because nobody is the same, and maxident (maximum + accident) which for the first time has a title track about love but rather than a typical love song it talks about falling in love being a 'maximum accident' and how they can't figure out what they're feeling and why. Their newest series so far has 5star which addresses self-confidence, uniqueness, and aspirations (I.e. the idea that you are 5 star) and 樂star (rockstar). 樂star is another play on words with the chinese character 樂 (meaning happiness or joy) sounding phonetically similar to the Korean word 락 (lak, meaning rock), thus rockstar. However, the character 樂 can also refer to music and is also a part of the Sino-Korean idiom 喜怒哀樂/희로애락 (huiroaerak) which represents the four human emotions, joy, anger, sorrow and happiness. Stray kids and seventeen are my ults both in terms of music and personality, I would recommend watching skz code and going seventeen to get to know them better. In terms of music however I would say that stray kids cater to a wider range of people and as far as i can tell all but one of their songs are gender neutral. Woozi composes and writes the majority of seventeens music while the skz members han, changbin and bang chan write and compose skz music with bang chan arranging all their songs. Woozi won best producer at the 2021 Asian artist awards while han, changbin and bang chan won best producer collectively at the 2023 Asian artist awards. Both are groups to be extremely proud of with skz being the biggest boy group in the 4th generation and seventeen second only to bts in the 3rd. In 2023 seventeen set a new record with their album fml receiving the most album sales of any kpop album ever, however the record was immediately broken by stray kids with preorders for 5star hitting over 5 million and breaking the record from preorders alone. Like seventeen, stray kids is divided into three subunits (although they are less formal than in seventeen) - 3racha (producing unit) composed of han, changbin, and bang chan, danceracha (dance unit) with lee know, hyunjin, and felix, and vocalracha (vocal unit) with seungmin and i.n. Apart from the vocal unit you may notice that the units the others are in dont really tell you if theyre rappers or singers - this is because the other six pretty much all do everything. Changbin, hyunjin, han and felix are considered the main rappers however bang chan and Lee know both rap frequently and bang chan is a part of 3racha which was originally a rap unit rather than producing, and seungmin and i.n. have both rapped in earlier songs. Seungmin, I.n., lee know and bang chan are considered the vocalists however han is considered to be the ace of kpop and has equal rap and singing skills, changbin was originally meant to be a vocalist before his vocal teacher recommended he try rap, and hyunjin and felix both sing and even have solo songs in which they sing. Han, seungmin and I.n. have all featured on a singing show called Lee mujins service and han, changbin and seungmin all also sang on the masked singer korea. Obviously both seventeen and stray kids are very multitalented and i hope you continue your journey in both skz and svt :)
