There is something about that bare-bones R12 that speaks to me.

These bikes really are very good “back to basics” but lovely at the same time.

I found the R12 Ninety had a very hard and firm ride. I have a ride booked on the R12 later in the month and hoping it will be a softer and more forgiving. I certainly wouldn't want to replace my 2022 Triumph Speedmaster "Gold Line" with an R12 Ninet. It would be a retrograde step as the ride isn't anywhere near as good as the Triumph, which was not what I was expecting...
@FenTour19 күн бұрын
Seemed a good ride to me, but I have not ridden a Triumph to compare.
@grahamtricker410318 күн бұрын
@@FenTour The suspension is as hard as nails compared to the Speedmaster. I have since ridden and purchased a BMW HP2 Sport which also has a much better ride than the R12 NineT. Not sure why they make the suspension so hard on bikes today when the road surfaces on UK roads are so rubbish. Probably on German roads it's a different story.

Salut jolie vidéo et jolie velo. La différence de confort est elle importante. La r12 9 a l'air mieux pour le duo.

The red one looks like a Honda Rebel. Lotta damn money for that.

@FenTour I've been desperate for BMW to do something Bonneville sized, I do like the R18 but couldn't see me on the b roads with that! This looks perfect, shame they don't do it in black with the pin stripe.....
@FenTour8 ай бұрын
@@dodibenabba525 the R18 is lovely too but so much bigger as you say. These 12s feel light (to me and David) dead easy to ride. I really liked the green colour scheme, of course you could always commission a paint shop for a totally custom look.
@dodibenabba5258 ай бұрын
@FenTour if I get it, which is more than likely, I probably will get someone to put the pin stripes on it think it would look brilliant.

Where you happy to be back on your GS afterwards? Just asking as I am thinking about trading my GS for an R12. Its getting a tad tall. Great review and now subscribed.
@FenTour6 ай бұрын
The R12s are quite different to my R1250GS. More of a “day bike” where as the GS is up for longer adventures. Having said that I know someone who has toured all over Europe on his R12. Certainly much easier to handle and move around than the GS, so could be what you need? Get a test ride booked maybe.
@johnmatero2346 ай бұрын
Test rode the R12 today and the clutch didn’t begin to grab until the lever was almost completely released. Any one else experience this?
@FenTour6 ай бұрын
The clutch seemed quite normal on both of these bikes to me.

The R12ninet is certainly a looker, but the 1250R SE and 1250RS SE are both cheaper than the ninet in similar spec which is a bit surprising really when the others have semi active suspension and the more modern and powerful 1250 engine.
@FenTour8 ай бұрын
Having ridden the 1250R previously it is indeed an amazing roadster. However for looks and smiles I would say that the R12 nineT is a better proposition, just a tad slower but still fast enough.
@Bazza478 ай бұрын
If I'm honest I really liked the Rninet when I had one as a loan bike a number of years ago while my GS was in for a service so guess this is on the same theme but with more tech on it which should appeal to someone looking for a sunny day bike for those fortunate enough to be able to afford more than 1.
@hgm83378 ай бұрын
so it's not same as the old model but with a cheaper one-piece frame? Or is it?
@FenTour8 ай бұрын
I think there are a lot of changes to the manufacture of these bikes except the engine, what was good was the ride and they look fab. Better looking than the older model? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All in all super machines…

Does the r12 have option for tft screen
@FenTour7 ай бұрын
I am not sure, best have a go with the BMW configurator online.
@leegreen676 ай бұрын
Both bikes come with an analogue display as standard. The digital display can be optioned on either bike for an extra €140
@FoxtrotOscar97 ай бұрын
Anologieeeee. Stealing that. Although I think you can add the fancy smaller digital clock as an optional extra
@simonhousam19897 ай бұрын
That rear light and indicator set up is shocking, you can hardly see the indicator flashing and I’m sure it will confuse other road users. Not a good idea BMW

Not ideal though Wiesor do a replacement that works well and I have fitted to my R1250GS

@PortuguesePirate998 ай бұрын
From other videos ive seen, i think both bikes come standard with analog dials and can get upgraded to a digital dash. The R12 with a digital dash imo just looks unreal compared to the 9T and its cheaper, just wish it had the separated tail brake light and a better windcowl/screen because the optional ones on the 9T looks really good but on the standard R12 the one offered looks like a £10 universal accessory for all motorbikes from Ebay haha😂
